Pacquiao may not ever fight Mayweather

By Dave Lahr: A fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao may never take place in the future unless Mayweather or Pacquiao change their minds about the random blood testing for the fight. Pacquiao doesn’t appear to have changed his mind one bit about the blood testing. In an interview with CNN, Pacquiao said “If Floyd wants that fight to happen then I think let the commission who implements the rules, not him, make the rules for the fight.”

Let’s hope that Pacquiao isn’t going to stick to following only what the commissions says on this before fighting Mayweather, because the commission only directs that urine be checked, not blood. Mayweather wants blood to be tested for the presence of performance enhancing drugs that aren’t picked up by urine. Human growth hormone is one of those drugs that Mayweather is concerned about.

Pacquiao was willing to have his blood tested randomly up to a certain point, but didn’t want his blood to be tested within 24 days of the fight because he felt it would weaken him. But in this interview, it sounds as if Pacquiao’s stance has hardened about this subject. “Floyd is just a fighter,” Pacquiao says. “We’re both fighters so he doesn’t need to make the rules like that.”

What Pacquiao seems to be forgetting it that it was something that Mayweather wanted to have included in the contract, just as Pacquiao’s team asked for a $10 million dollar penalty to be included for every pound that either of the fighters came in over weight. This was something Mayweather agreed to.

It wasn’t a hard and fast rule for all boxing fights. And when you think about it, this rule heavily favored Pacquiao because Mayweather is the bigger fighter and the one that had recently came in over weight limit in his last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. This isn’t just a one-way deal. Both fighters would be giving up a little to make this fight happen.

Pacquiao might not like having his blood tested, but to make a fight with Mayweather happen and to get a payday that could be as big as $40 million, Pacquiao would have to give in on this one issue. If Pacquiao wants to fight Mayweather, he will have to probably agree to have his blood tested randomly. I don’t see Mayweather giving in about this. If Pacquiao has decided not to have his blood tested in the future, then he might be better off not wasting his time talking about the Mayweather fight anymore.

“I will provide any specimen, whether it be blood or urine samples, right after the fight but not a day or two before it,” said a visibly angry Pacquiao.

He explained that he had always “felt weak” every time a blood test is conducted within hours or a few days before his fight. But he stressed that he was willing to undergo blood testing 30 days before the fight.

Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s American promoter and top honcho of Top Rank Promotions, said he has proposed to allow the Nevada commission to have the final say in solving the ticklish doping controversy.

“We will go along with what the Nevada commission decides,” Arum said. “We want this fight to go forward.”

If the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is not held on March 13, Arum plans to pit Pacquiao against newly crowned World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman. Arum had earlier targeted Italian-American Paulie Malignaggi as a replacement, but Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer, suggested a third meeting between Pacquiao and Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez.

clint anyone could fight like Pacquiao, all he has is a 1-2 punch and no defense. the only difference is he aways has the edge over his opponents. Like weight, and roid Speed Power and stamina. Mosley still has his even after the “CLEAR PED” high is gone.

  • Clint says:

@1984 Silver Medalist – Saying that the Pacquiao-Clottey fight will be exactly the same as the Cotto-Clottey fight is a sign that you’re a complete moron and you do not know anything about boxing. Nobody can emulate the fighting style of Pacquiao and that is a fact. So how can his coming fight be the same as Cotto-Clottey fight? You re one stupid guy with a very low I.Q. Are you 7 or 8 yrs old? Please leave..this board is for adults.

  • grvcarr says:

Let all fight done what PBF wants. We should agree to a random blood test in every fight to know who is the cheater.

I said EVERY FIGHT there was..to determine who cheats.

    Ole Skool;
I apologize, you are right, you never did say Floyd didn’t fight those HOFs. I was mistaken and I sincerely apologize for that. as to anyonymous, all 12 of those fighters are very accomplished and has records and wins as impressive as many HOFs. Ndou and Baldomir could be questionable but the other 10 will be in any boxing HOF.

  • lex_fugitive says:

    ole skool;
You keep calling floyd a coward and a ducker and Manny isn’t. Which insinuates Clottey is better than Mosley. Again I didn’t even say anything and you go on a tantrum! Really, you need to calm down, it seems like Floyds record and his next fight have you really worked up. Don’t worry ole skool, it will be alright buddy :) Your hero will look fantastic March 13 against an opponent that has trouble making 147, hasn’t fought or trained in 10 months and has one and a half months to get ready and in shape for the biggest fight of his life. honestly, ole skool, i like ya and as a friend you need to relax. Getting all worked up is terrible for your health!

that list is a joke hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

  • Old $kool Playa says:

lex, heres another post you made on a different article that you said i posted which was ANOTHER LIE.

    ole skool;
…You think Clottey is better than Mosley, alright, i get it.

$hit man, i get it, you only read and soak in what you want, what you want to interpret. then, YOU LIE and twist $hit to try to make you look good b/c you have nothing worthwhile to say. there is more of this blatant LIES from you. good thing about the written word is it can be referenced. brah, youre losing your mind. YOU DEFINITELY PART OF THE LYING MAYWEATHER CLAN. keep fabricating stuff on print so we can ALL SEE how you and the mayweathers really are, you never answered my question, is that you SR. sounds like your kinda lies, lmao

  • Old $kool Playa says:

lex, heres what you wrote below, again insinuating I am saying something that I am not. you’ve done it a few times. you might have gotten away w/ it before, but not w/ me partner. like i said, keep your opinions to yourself, we are all entitled to it, but dont speak for me or twist my writing.

    ole skool;
LOL There weren’t any HOF fighters that Floyd beat, but now its yea, but they don’t deserve it!!

  • lex_fugitive says:

    ole skool;
Where is all this hostility coming from? I simply stated the facts and Floyds record, calm down, buddy. I never said that you said anything. You think Manny is better and I think Floyd is better. They have both fought tough opponents. Hopefully they fight later this year. Thats all there is to it. I don’t see why you seem so angry. You should be happy, Mayweather and Mosley will give the fans a treat on May 1 and Pacquiao will treat fans to another one-sided destruction on March 13. This is good for boxing, so you should cheer up and enjoy boxing soaking up so much attention!

  • Old $kool Playa says:

lex, this is comical. i have my posts to back me up if you can read/comprehend. do you just make $hit up as I go. i NEVER said that pbf didnt fight any HOF. YOU CLAIMED that there were 12-15 that he fought and a few of us asked you to name ‘em. quit speaking for me because you can barely speak for yourself, honestly you dont have an assoc degree do you? i NEVER claimed Pacman to be G.O.A.T. only pbf fans keep shouting pbf is the GOAT. I said Pacman is closer to the top. some publications and experts had H. Armstrong at 3, manny broke his record for the most titles. history will be kind to manny. for fraud, if he beats manny and shane, he might break into the top 10, add williams, top 5. but it wont happen b/c hes a COWARD

  • lex_fugitive says:

    ole skool;
it doesn’t matter to you who Floyd beats. He can destroy Mosley and Manny and you will have your excuses. Is Floyd the best ever? No. Is Manny? No. floyd is back and both him and Manny have a chance to have there names put in the discussion when discussing the top p4p fighters of all time. Neither are there now. And either one can beat 1000 Clotteys and it won’t change that at all.

  • lex_fugitive says:

    ole skool;
LOL There weren’t any HOF fighters that Floyd beat, but now its yea, but they don’t deserve it!! Whatever you say, regardless, I don’t know many other boxers with that kind of a record. It is a heck of a lot better than Manny’s. floyd totally cleaned out 130 and 135. Hernandez, Corrales, Chavez, Castillo were all the man to beat when Floyd beat them. i admit floyd hasn’t beat the best at 147 yet. He retired for 2 years. You and some others say he retired to “duck” some fights, others say its because of injuries. Regardless, Floyd has consisitently fought the best when he hasn’t been retired.

  • 1984 Silver Medalist says:

The Drug Testing request was a contract stipulation by Floyd Mayweather. The $10M per pound over penalty was a contract stipulation by Pacquiao. Mayweather agreed, Pacquiao disagreed…simple as that! Form your own conclusions…

Pacquiao vs. Clottey, if Clottey brings in a different trainer than the Ghanian fools that have no strategy, Clottey could very well pull an upset. I have no faith in his trainer.

Thre is no way on this green planet that Clottey can win by decision. He can only win by KO. Clottey beat Cotto in my opinion. The fight will look exactly the same with Manny McGuire.

  • Old $kool Playa says:

lex_fug, i remember and laughed at this list the 1st time. quit insulting boxing, its history and real HOF like sugar ray robinson, ali, joe louis, willie pep, duran, sugar leonard, sweet pea on and on. just b/c there are a $hitload of different sanctioning bodies that give their former champs hof honors dont mean $hit. almost everyone in that list isnt in the top 500 fighters of all time. but then again, i know how you think. just like the other pbf biatches that keep on comparing fraud to ali. he can try to sound like him, but there is ONLY ONE ALI, dont dissed, insult ali who may have taken tune-up fights but FOUGHT the best, Liston, Norton, Foreman, Frazier all the way to Holmes, homie

  • lex_fugitive says:

ole skool; there are 12 HOF Floyd beat listed directly below this,

  • lex_fugitive says:

    1-Genaro Hernandez
    2-Angel Manfredy
    3-Diego Corrales
    4-Jesus Chaves
    5-Phillip Ndou
    6-Jose Luis Castillo
    7-Arturo Gatti
    8-Zab Judah
    9-Carlos Baldomir
    10-Oscar De La Hoya
    11-Ricky Hatton
    12-Juan Manuel Marquez
    13-Shane Mosley

Floyd has consistently fought some of the best fighters in the world. He has only fought 3 fights at welterweight. So, no he hasn’t beat the top welterweights. He is fighting the top 147 on May 1 though. Floyd only has one more fight than Manny at 147. Floyd didn’t fight anyone when he was retired. But now he’s back, and I’m glad to see he’s taking on the best again. Do I think he’s the best p4p ever? No, he still has to beat a few top welterweights to even enter that conversation. But wins over Mosley and Pacquiao will help boost him.

  • Old $kool Playa says:

iceman, like you said, some people cant be told. lex-fug still insists that there are 12 HOF that fought PBF. the GOAT honest s mosley fan keeps on repeating is another one of their fabrications. It truly is ignorant is bliss for pbf fans. lie about it enough and it becomes real. i havent seen a legit publication or expert claim pbf to be GOAT, like i said he barely made the espn top 50 before he retired and the only fight since then was JMM, so to them that catapulted him to #1. I truly have never talked to a more ignorant bunch. they are so delusional, but everyone my have a brain, they just dont know how to use theirs.

  • iceman says:

    ps mosley fan,

your telling me dont be blind? for what? what prediction have i made about fights on this site no matter who i want to win and been wrong?!

dont let your fanfare get in the way, pal!

when i first came on this site i predicted an early ko for manny against hatton, that floyd/marquez at welterweight catch was a miss match and floyd would win by wide points decsion, but doing nothing for his legacy, and predicted manny to beat cotto by late tko or wide points decision!stating that i wasnt sure whether manny had the power to stop cotto clean but with a relentless barrage of punches!

im not doing to bad, pal. and cotto was one of my fav fighters!

  • iceman says:

    mosley fan,

geezz man you really are an idiot arent you!

you didnt even answer my question!!

how can we, the boxing fans, even consider someone like floyd as a goat when he has been a welterweight for the last 4 to 5 years and fought nobody???

s**t man are you all there??? you alright man???

you go on about the mayweathers etc.. will floyd snr is a convicted drug dealer, rogers up for assulting a woman (real taught guy) and the pair of them appear to be on crack 24/7!

you go on about me not seeing past my fanfare for fighters! how wrong you are pal, reread alot of my comments!

i admitt i dont lik floyd, hell i dont how anybody could! the guy is a tosser with no respect! but i have always said how talented he is and that if he just fought somebody and showed us how good id give credit where credit due! mate!

    he hasnt, so i wont!

your 2 points about what boxing historians want to see from floyd in ordwer to rate him, i agree with 100%.

mosley fan, where still waiting …..

  • Old $kool Playa says:

motownhitman, i know. Pacman fans try to argue w/ facts and sense while PBF fans can only muster up. duh Pacs on roids. PBF is the greatest. it is pointless when you argue w/ pbf fans who cant really say much. just keep on repeating the same bs over and over. if more pbf fans can read/write/comprehend, respect history etc. it could be a better conversation amongst fans. instead all y’all can do is talk smack on Manny to justify PBF’s COWARDNESS AND INFERIORITY TO MANNY

  • motownhitman says:

Yo Lex…stop arguing with the Pac fools..it’s pointless!!!

  • scar says:

li’l floyd won’t fight anybody who a chance of beating him.

    that simple.

  • ElCondor says:

All this doping talk is just soooo funny. Imagine – a guy like Pacman who’s been accused of using PEDs and ‘roids still remains diminutive when compared to his opponents. So, what’s wrong with this picture?! Either he’s not using ‘roids or PED’s, or the stuff don’t work on him. He’s been willing to get tested, but not on Mouthweather’s terms, but the Big Mouth would only have it his way. If that’s what he wants…let him head for the highway. Who needs him, anyway?!

  • Old $kool Playa says:

To END the testing issue that “poultry boy fraud” and his minions demad. i know his fans like football, basketball and baseball so
    HYPOTHETICALLY:
what if before the NBA finals, the opposing team says, we wont play the Cavs because King James is too big, too strong so he MUST be on ‘roids.
or before the superbowl, the other team wont play the Steelers because Harrison and Polamalu are so good that they too are on ‘roids
or before the world series, no one will play the Yankees etc. and all these teams/people demand Olympic style WADA testing. do you think these same pbf fans would like or tolerate it. FACE it fraud is a COWARD, he isnt a reformer. quit misinforming people, this demand is $hit. let the commissioners set the rules and guidelines. athletes just play, in frauds case, just fight

  • Old $kool Playa says:

ISKA, we’ve seen lex_fug hof list of pbf foes. iceman and i already made fun of it because it shows why fraud fans “insist’ he is the G.O.A.T. when most barely have him in the top 50. but w/ so many alphabet sanctioning bodies who hand out hofs, its definitely a joke. he listed guys not even in the top 500. really is an insult to true hof like sugar ray robinson, ali, h. armstrong, duran etc. shows that pbf fans only know of boxing in pbf yrs.

  • ISKA says:

lex_fugitive said: Floyd Mayweather Jr. has fought and beat at least 12 future hall of famers. ANd he will be fighting his 13th on May 1…
pls go to boxrec.com & point to us which (at least) 12 HOF you claim he has fought. cmon, we’ll wait……………..

  • ISKA says:

Pacquiao will not fight mayweather not because he doesn’t want to be caught using PEDs & others but because Manny doesn’t want the way he was treated by Floyd’s camp. Manny was right in telling Floyd to let the commission decide on the testing, which is clearly a requirement´under their rules. What would be the use of NSAC if fighters won’t follow them? If Floyd really want a level playing field, as he said, why then did he come above the agreed fight weight with JMM? Talks about being fair!
Oh, the $10M dollar penalty was never under the NSAC rules. It’s a clause under their contracts. Testing by NSAC is a must, whether you put it under your contract or not.

  • Mark Daghorn says:

they are measuring the size of his knob in this pic whilst someone else is sucking it.

  • Jokes on me says:

I want to see the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather. I want to see Mayweather knock off his feet. How his teeth will fall off. and How the referee will count him out after three consecutive fall.

  • JR says:

While we’re refusing blood tests, hand wrap checks should be refused as well. That’s just a ridiculous demand. A fighter could be caught cheating with such a ridiculous demand.

  • lex_fugitive says:

    Old skool;
You must not be good with history. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has fought and beat at least 12 future hall of famers. ANd he will be fighting his 13th on May 1. In a fight of this magnititude every detail isn’t worked out in an hour. and whats this about a rib injury? Floyd had a rib injury and destroyed the same opponent, just three months later. so are you saying floyd will beat mosley 12-0 but it will be August 1? Floyd has never not followed through on a scheduled opponent. He tore his rotator cuff two days before Castillo I. And he still fought the best at 135 and won

  • anon says:

  • lex_fugitive says:

    kio,
The only thing I dont get is if Manny really feels giving blood weakens him for the next month, then why did he schedule a fight with Ricky Hatton when he knew he had to give blood 24 days before the fight??? you can schedule a fight for anyday you want and you schedule a fight 24 days after giving blood??? You would think this would have bothered Manny when his opponent was Hatton too, not just when his opponent is Floyd Mayweather. I’m not a Phillipino and maybe they suddenly have “superstitions” out of the blue, but if it was fine 9 months before what changed anything, besides the opponent??

  • lex_fugitive says:

    Ken;
Nice to know you agree that Manny shouldn’t be making new rules about weight. Oh, and as for a top welterweight he’s fighting- Floyd Mayweather Jr. is going to fight “Sugar” Shane Mosley on May 1, 2010. The official announcement will be today Friday January 22, 2010.

  • lex_fugitive says:

Pacfans are still crying Mayweather won’t fight a top welterweight??? He’s fighting the #1 welterweight in the world. Pacfans have to come up with a new reason to bash floyd Mayweather Jr. because he’s back from his retirement and doing what he did before: fighting the best.

  • Ancient_Silence says:

I see its still a talking point. I reckon the best thing to do is forget about this potential match-up. All the speculation is getting old. People seem to like playing repeater. Same points about this fight every time, am i the only one that is getting tired of this. From what i can see its just become a slinging of verbal tirades.
Here’s a question for all: What would you suggest to Jose Sulaiman if he asked how the organization of Boxing could be improved? Especially the negotiations beforehand.Who should decide which tests should be administered? Should there perhaps be standard blood testing? Is there any way to cancel out the nonsense of pre-fight ‘mind-games’ which result in nothing more than extra publicity. Now you might respond by saying the extra publicity is what helps to sell the fights but, if things get organized a bit better we may not have to rely on this pre fight slandering between trainers to sell tickets. It may also do away with clandestine rules arising during negotiations.
My point is simple: If we have a standard set of pre-fight regulations we might not have to endure being strung along by backstage negotiations and rumors. Then we could talk about the fighters instead of trying to one up each other with second, third or even fourth hand information from some promoter that is actually doing his job…advertising.

  • puggy says:

I had the same thought the other day, that Floyd would never fight Pacquaio. The blood testing thing was a stroke of genius. The way things are going, history will be kind to Manny and cruel to Mayweather.

  • jasz says:

Wowzabean nailed it on the head. When Pacquiao is to fight a bigger man his detractors will always say he can’t possibly win because the other guy is bigger, stronger…blah, blah! But after the fight when Pacquiao destroys his opponent those same people who discounted him will now say the other guy was actually washed-up, drained, shot. Nothing but excuses. These people can’t admit that a smaller guy defeated (in a very convincing manner) a much bigger man.

  • Old $kool Playa says:

The real scoop on why PBF wont fight a real ww. i’ve said it before, he realized after the judah and oscar fight that he CAN’T hurt a ww. A top tier ww will keep the pressure on him for 12 rds, will break him down and knock him the fvck out. It scares him that guys like Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao will show ABSOLUTELY no respect because they all know he cant keep ‘em away. Yes, he is skilled enough to win some decisions, throwing a lot of pitty patty punches, but more likely he would eventually get caught and as Roach has said before he will break down from the pressure. All he can do is run away. Brittle hands and brittle chin. he doesnt want it exposed that he has Rogers chin. He likes the featherweights and lightweights that he can at least bully. Who wouldnt want to face him, at worst you lose a frustrating decision cuz he’s not interested in fighting. He will get away w/ ave. foes, top tier ww the guys named above to Berto, Cintron, Williams, everyone of them will have a very good/great chance of Knocking him out. He CANT knock any of them out, but can only try to STEAL a decision.

  • jasz says:

    @Dave Lahr,

Pacquiao asked for a 10 million dollar penalty to be included for every pound that either of the fighters came in over weight beause there’s a precedence on this. Mayweather cheated when he came in 2pounds over the limit with his fight with Marquez. Even if Mayweather came at the agreed weight he would still have been 2 pounds heavier. But no he came in 4 pounds heavier. So, Mayweather cheated and he only paid a measly $750,000 for that… and that’s why Manny asked for that.

But, Mayweather was asking for a blood for no apparent reason except because daddy thought Pacman was on something. What a joke! He has no evidence whatsoever.

  • sean says:

my conclusion is that as long as mayweather wants to make his own rules and regulations then a fight vs pacquiao will never happen.

  • Bobby Bagoong says:

If Manny agreed to the blood test, Floyd would have then used plan C, “I won’t fight unless you remove the $10 million penalty if I go over the weight.” If anyone is the cheater, it is Floyd. He uses a banned substance in all 49 states except Nevada…Xylocaine. He lied about the rib injury when he was going to fight Marquez on July. If thats the case, we should strap Floyd to a lie detector and asked him if he really had a rib injury. Also if they want to eliminate drugs altogether in boxing, lets test the trainers too. Especially Roger and Floyd Sr.

  • david anderson says:

The author is another hater. First and foremost who is Mayweather to change rules? Yeah u may said it is a contract agreement between the two fighters, then if its only an agreement not a rule then PBF should compromise the time of testing. In addition, again where is the scientific facts that can back up what he wanted? Then if no one can present, it is not the best test until proven as such. With the 10 mil every pound, The pac camp would not suggest it if in the first place, PBF doesnt came owerweight with his fight with JMM. I am getting sick with thuis people. Again its legacy that makes money, not money makes legacy. Where there is legacy, greatness, being fair and also money follows. That is why Pac put legacy first on top of money. Cuz in life u didn’t need so much.

MAYWEATHER WILL NOT FIGHT MOSLEY… don’t be fool again people, this is just another scam in the making courtesy of the GREAT DUCKER floyd mayweather,.. Mayweather ducks and ducks and ducks every real threats, he avoided Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao, He also avoided a rematch with Dela Hoya by making a FAKE RETIREMENT and come back when the issue of rematch is dead hahahaha, and how COME now he will fight Mosley who seems to be the most dangerous threat, quite fascinating isn’t it, Mayweather will avoid this fight by all means, if ever just if ever he sign the contract here, he will pull out in the middle and think of a valid fabricated reason as a escape route,,, i reiterate MAYWEATHER WILL NOT FIGHT MOSLEY,

  • fairplay says:

i cannot see through the logic of equating the demand for overweight penalties with the demand for random blood tests. if manny tested positive or has a history of such then the demand is valid. but on the other hand, floyd in a recent fight just before this one came in overweight, so who has the right to demand for such concessions???

the bottom line is floyd cannot fight a fighter on a level field without undue advantage. he never fought any of the great fighters in his division except maybe dela hoya and hatton which manny beat in a much greater fashion than the way he fought them. he is simply too afraid that manny will burst his fragile bubble claims of being a great fighter when all that he can manage is run and duck. quack! quack! quack! boxing for him is only about run and punch before and now its duck and chicken.

so now manny fights clottey, somebody who is better ranked than floyd’s posturing to fight the obscure ranked no. 30+ something hatton’s brother. now seeing the obvious, he needs mosley, but this may never happen. it maybe another duck and chicken run in the making hahahaha.

iceman, i think pbf can salvage his legacy. i may not like him but if he does fight mosley and wins, then fights/beats a williams, pacquiao even cotto it may put him in the top 5 of all-time in my opinion. lets see him fight. honestly, i dont think he can bully and intimidate the best ww’s. if he were to fight who cotto faced recently mosley, margarito, clottey and manny he would get walked down and KO’d in at least 2 of those fights.

  • CourtoftheCounterKing says:

    Sporty,

You are right, the way I see it, Floyd screwed himself on this one. On he Ring’s Pound for Pound list, Pacquiao is # 1, while Floyd is no. 2. Floyd goes out saying that “I am Number One”. If he wants to go ahead and puts his undefeated record and say he is numero uno, that’s fine. But he is going around the system, if he wants the 1st rank next to his undefeated streak, then he has to beat the number one fighter, right? Floyd just can’t go around his 1st ranked opponent, beat lower ranked fighters (not that I am calling Marquez and Mosley ‘lower’, both are superb) and still call himself superior. No. He has to face the number one – Pacquiao, head on before he even thinks of calling himself as such.

  • Old $kool Playa says:

After arguing w/ most pbf fans on this site, i’ve come to the conclusion that most are less educated, more ignorant and in denial. The arguments go in circles as they only know a few basic sentences. 1. pbf is the g.o.a.t./best 2. manny is on ‘roids 3. everyone ducks pbf 4. pbf has fought the best. as i’ve said, look in the mirror pbf fans, can you read/write, comprehend or do basic math? do you have a criminal record? dont post just answer yourself honestly. can you even really afford the $60 ppv? they never substantiate w/ facts just more of the same. they will insult and respond quickly w/ just an opinion while the Pacman fans at least have facts, historical evidence. propps, i know thats either Sr. or Roger and pbf is somewhere on this site, dont play the educated public as fools, see we are the ones who can afford your ppv’s. i was a pbf fan, defended him against folks as he was a great featherweight/lightweight and is skilled. he is a good welterweight but has been a “coward” hiding behind his words and ignorant fans. i bought the oscar/pbf and oscar/hatton fights. definitely was worth it, great showing. then i got to know the mayweathers and will never want to give pbf or his family my hard earned money and i’m not alone. they have all showed their true colors. Sr., the CONVICTED DRUG FELON who has been embarassed by wrong predictions and inability to train fighters, accused Pacman who has only shown class, humility an respect and never has failed a drug test, of doping W/O PROOF. pbf, you are not ali. there is only 1 muhammad ali, big mouth. just because “powder puff” pbf didnt carry his power and Pacman did, doesnt mean Manny is on ‘roids. The great Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns and Archie Moore fought over 50lbs heavier to end their career still knocking people out and winning championships. if anything, pbf who has more VIOLENT CRIME (assault/batteries, domestic abuse)arrests and convictions than world titles sounds more like a ‘roid rager. Roger, focus on staying out of jail, another violent crime arrest. anyone who’s seen 24/7 will “assume” roger and sr. are on crack. it is more likely since SR. was a CONVICTED DRUG FELON. only the pbf/oscar fight drew more ppv’s than Pacman/Cotto and Pacman/Oscar. i and a lot of fans didnt buy the JMM crap. pbf, worry about your money and walking away from a $40M fight. see you’re the one investigated by the IRS and had to be fronted $6M by your promoter. i bet more companies will endorse and sponsor Manny than pbf. who wants to endorse loud mouths that are always in trouble with the law. boxing was, is and will always be great. Manny’s legacy is secure, regardless of what the pbf fans say. he is regarded as the P4P champ now, not pbf. he won 7 titles no one else, 4 lineal championships. his fans will enjoy his last few exciting fights. win or lose, he is a winner who fought as an underdog and took risks. his fights that can be fought in a phone booth are more exciting than the track meets that a pitty patty puncher like pbf can offer. like soccer is a bigger sport internationally, Pacman has an exponentially bigger following. they both can throw combinations well but do most fans want to see pbf running for 12 rds or a demolition like the way Pacman handled Hatton, Oscar, Diaz or Cotto. gimme a break already.

  • iceman says:

i mean thats what i’ve been saying all this time,

the subject is just so speulative to howevers side your on isnt it? thats why i generally switch off to it.

all you can do in the end is support the state athletic commissions that they are doing there jobs correctly etc…

i agree with you ryan, but i would love the commsissions to introduce random bloods (if it is neccessary) to just get rid of the issue or make a statement proving what they do is effective.

either way, we the boxing public deserve answers!

  • iceman says:

    sean,

where’d you rerad that man, just curious.

if what you says is true then thats quite damning for floyd isnt it?

  • Jason Alcairo says:

    lex
it would not be like mayweather/jmm.Manny has a different style and put weight on in the right places to keep his speed and power.they have different styles.you absolutely can’t compare the outcomes like so many other wrongly do.
If Manny beat Mayweather,he could easily retire and give mayweather his p4p spot back. He’s running for congress in the PI anyways. If Mayweather re-re-retired,he’d be ducking Mosley.Mosley’s stunt wasn’t childish,Mayweather was going to keep coming up with excuses unless Mosley called him out in front of millions so he’d have to man up.Pacquiao and Mayweather would be closer than you give it credit.

And give up on expecting Paul Williams to be able to make WW again. He would be so weak having to drop the weight that people would say Manny beat another drained fighter if Williams came down. He’s set as a JMW.

  • iceman says:

ahcaw, good comparision between holmes and mayweather to pac and tyson.

never thought of it like that but there is a bit of merit there when you think about it.

i just really hope this fight will happen as i think floyd will be challenged like no before.

shane wont be bullied by floyd, i mean that in a mental kind of way.

floyd gets under the skin of his opposition like ali used to and i truely think its got to alot of this opposition on numerous times.

oscar i feel was definetely affected by it, but shane, no chance. hes just got that thing about him that tells me hes gonna give it everything largely due to their history to.

shanes still in his prime and wont allow floyd to just get away with his usual pot shots. he’ll lay it all on the line and at some stage fl;oyd will have to engage.

however, if floyd comes out on top, and the money will be on floyd by decision, the guy deserves credit with or without pacquiao.

floyd would be one win away, probably a win against a bigger guy like williams from staking a true claim to the hall of fame, in my view anyway

  • sean says:

14 or 24 days doesn’t make any difference according to USDA chief therefore, floyd’s intention was simply to get an advantage or just scared to death to fight manny.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    oneness = onus, sorry.

    …ryan

  • Ryan Dunn says:

The oneness is on Floyd. If he wants to fight Manny, the champ, and the P4P king, he has to either:

    1) Drop his blood testing clause.

    or

    2) Petition the NASC to institute whatever new rules he wants to impose on his future opponents.

The only reason Floyd is asking Mosley for blood is because he has to. Otherwise he looks like a moron who was trying to bully Manny into his terms.

It doesn’t look like Manny is going to acquiesce to Floyd’s demand regarding medical testing, so the ball is in Floyd’s court now. Simple as that.

Manny will do whatever the Commission says he has to do, so why won’t Floyd take his case to the Commission? Might it be because he doesn’t have an argument in support of Olympic Style (or any other style) of blood testing?

    …ryan

    Question

From what I can tell, the benificial effects of HGH take at least a month to start. If Pac was willing to take tests (presumably clean) up until 24 days before the fight, why was that not good enough?

I am serious here, not looking for a debate, just info.

  • ahcaw says:

mayweather is like a larry holmes who no one cared about but he was the best we had for awhile so you got stuck watching his fights.
when pacquiao fights, its more like a mike tyson fight.a huge event that everyone has to see.
Id like to see them fight but theres not much I could do if mayweather wants to duck him.I just look forward to whatever fight pacquiao is having next

  • KeenObserver says:

PACQUIAO MAY NOT EVER FIGHT MAYWEATHER BECAUSE FLOYD IS SCARED. Floyd cannot dictate the rules of the game. He is just a challenger to Manny Pacquiao’s top status. Pacquiao will be at a big disadvantage if he bows to Floyd’s baseless and malicious demand. It will be a huge distraction for Manny during training knowing he is the one being accused while Floyd will be inspired everytime blood is drawn from Pacquiao feeling he is the one doing it to him for he is the accuser. And if Manny loses to Floyd, Floyd will just say, “See? I prevented him from using drugs. He used them with Diaz, Oscar, Hatton and Cotto. He cheated. I’m the greatest!” But Pacquiao is smarter. He rightly files a lawsuit instead to start the slow process of clearing his name. Floyd’s stupid demand is already an outright accusation of drug use. It is disrespectful, distractive and a sign of cowardice.

  • lex_fugitive says:

Its better for boxing they don’t fight. If they fought each other on MArch 13, the most likely outcome is Floyd winning easily on points. The fight would look much like Mayweather-Marquez, the bigger guy just pot-shotting Manny from the outside all night. Not a real exciting fight, as it wouldn’t be close and not a lot of hard, clean, power shots landed. After that, then what??? Manny’s marketability would be minimal and who would Floyd fight? He probably would have retired again, because of that childish, disrespectful stunt Mosley pulled in September. Because after Mosley, Manny, and Floyd who is there?? Williams, but even most of the general public hasn’t heard of him. At least now, Manny will look great again and we get the top two welterweights together in a fight that could go either way. Manny could fight the winner later, and if not Williams is still around and Berto could get a shot at a top WW when he’s ready. Margarito could even come back and be a force again. Although, I still fail to see how he only got suspended for one year.

  • iceman says:

    letsfightnucca,

you dont no much about boxing do you!

2 pounds is very significant in lower weight boxing! especially when a guy (marquez) cant even make weight!

2 pounds over or 1 pound over is cheating, fullstop! and dont you floyd fans try and justify it!

whats next paying guys out so they can come in overweight! give me a break!

if it wasnt significant why do it??!

who is considered no. 2? many will argue if you say floyd.

so will the no. 1 allow his team to be bullied? definitely no. it’s not about the test d!ckhead. it’s about the bullying. and floyd will never again get his advantage to top fighters. he can stick on fighting 130 pounder at 147.

  • jack flores says:

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. cannot claim to the whole world that he has a better fighting record than MANNY PACMAN PACQUIAO. Let’s see how they fair.

    MANNY PACQUIAO FLOYD MAYWEATHER

    FIGHTS WON 50 40
    KO OR TKO (38) (25)
    DRAW 3 0
    LOSES 2 0
    TOTAL FIGHTS 55 (15 DIFFERENCE) 40

Mayweather has to counter Pacquiao’s boxing record. He has to fight 15 boxing matches more. Can he maintain that ZERO LOSES? Very doubtful. He could probably far exceed Pacquiao’s THREE LOSES if Mayweather fights 15 times to match Pacquiao’s record.
There is no doubt that MANNY PACQUIAO is the real KING OF POUND 4 POUND TODAY and not Mayweather. He is the REAL CHALLENGER. That is the TRUTH. MANY PACQUIAO will stun the world and win ONE MORE TIME this forthcoming boxing bout against challenger MAYWEATHER based on the following FACTS: MANNY PACQUIAO appeared to have been UNDERDOG in all his WORLD TITLE FIGHT BUT WON A TOUGH AND RIGOROUS FIGHT. No feat can ever match his boxing achievement of 7 World Title fight in 7 different weight divisions in recent memory. Only MANNY PACQUIAO and not FLOYD Mayweather. Nothing is left more for Mayweather. Paquiao’s OPPONENTS ARE TOUGH KNOWN WORLD CHAMPIONS AND EX-CHAMPIONS consistently beat them by either KO OR TKO. In comparison to Mayweather’s previous fights, MAJORITY ARE CONTENDERS AND CHALLENGERS and a handful of EX-CHAMPS with only light winning decisions. Nothing is amazing and spectacular to win the hearts and praise from the spectators. This prediction is not a GUESS but a reality and is based solely on PROOFS with added testimonial facts from SOVEREIGN MANNY PACQUIAO’S HARDCORE FANS AND BOXING ENTHUSIASTS. BETTING FOR MAYWEATHER IS JUST A WAIST OF MONEY. YOU WANNA BET?

  • TotoyBato says:

If Manny did not request a $10 million fine, do you think Floyd would request a blood test? That’s the reason why Floyd is changing the rules. Floyd wants to be always advantage in all his fights. Its’ simple, NO $10 MIILION FINE FOR OVERWEIGHT FOR FLOYD, NO BLOOD TEST FOR MANNY.

  • Letsfightnucca! says:

You guys r funny. Floyd fights one man smaller the him now he’s a bully. 2lbs over the agreed limit ain’t much. The way that fight went down it wouldn’t have matter even if Floyd came in smaller. The true WW limit is 147lbs.
Once again giving blood doesn’t make u weak when u r an elite athlete. Tour de France officals take blood from cyclist at will up onto the time for the those guys go out an ride for 100 plus miles a day during an a race. That sport is far harder in the body the boxing is. And they power there asses up an down mountains for three weeks str8. That is a lame ass excuse and there is nothing any boxing fan can say to defend that. I don’t give a damn who u r rooting for. I like both fighters to b clear. I’m not taking any side on this fight. But I know regardless of how much money anyone has the possiblity to make 40M is nothing to sneeze at. Ask millionaire if he or she wanted to make an extra 40M! U have yo answe!

  • PIJoe says:

This random oympic blood testing is something that the Mayweather camp will have to drop. There is a commission that tests all fighters for PED’s. If Floyd really wants Olympic drug testing he needs to request that the rules be changed regarding testing for all Vegas fights. Not just the one fight with Pacquiao.

No one is talking about his accusation that Pacquiao is using HGH as a PED. Every medical study ever conducted found the same thing. The belief that the use of HGH can enhance athletic performance is a sports “myth”. Like tiger penis can increase virility, protein supplements helps increase muscle mass or if you stop exercising your muscles turn to fat. Check Stanford Med Study, Analls of Intermal Med, Swedish Cycling Double Blind study, Wikipedia etc. They all say the same thing. HGH can’t be used to make athletes faster or stronger. In fact in most instances it even decreased athletic performance of the athletes that were tested.

  • SIB says:

    Supreme court, just FACTS please…

No one even Floyd can prove that Manny is using steroid.

What everyone know is that Floyd is using XYLOCAINE which is prohibited except in Vegas.

Its amazing how Shane Mosley has already accepted the terms of taking random blood test without any talk of lawsuits or the other foolishness Pacquaio was talking about…..I just wonder why did Pacroid put up such a big fuss about something that Mosley had no problem with??? Can you say CHEATER!!!!!!

    Mayweather vs Pacquaio
    Skills vs Pills

  • Hector says:

Floyd fans, save your breath and start planning your excuses for him when he finds a way to duck Mosley.

  • lorendgreat says:

yes, they cannot believe with the remarkable achievements of pacquiao because he is an asian (filipino) but they believe mayweather because he is an american. I hate to think this way but maybe this is one of the reasons. Many pacquio’s opponents were not bothered with pac’s strength and they humbly accept their defeat.
There is an existing law in Nevada that boxers need to obey and if mayweather wants to request or dictate something he must go to boxing commission in Nevada and ask for their approval so that everybody will abide. Remember mayweather cannot dictate nor create his own rule because he is not a boxing commission

  • Hector says:

Floyd used to be # 1. Key words “Used to be”

Pacquiao vs Cotto is a bigger hit compared to Mayweather vs Marquez. That’s why Floyd accepts 50:50 split with Manny.

  • Mitch says:

If MANNY is a bigger draw, why does FLOYD’S PPV number versus common opponents almost doubles MANNY’S? Someone please answer this for me! There is no logical explanation, other than MAYWEATHER is the bigger draw. Numbers don’t lie but people do.

    4. HBO is airing Manny’s fight on March 13 even if Floyd decides to have his own fight on the same date.
    5. Manny is abiding rules (not making his own rules.
    6. Manny is a Nike endorser. It only proves that he has a good reputation.
    7. Manny has no tax evasion case.

  • trevez17 says:

Mayweather has made more in his last 3 fights than Pacquiao has in his last 5 fights. He’s a 6 time world champion, He’s 40-0, been dominating for 10 years and has risen through the ranks beating the best in the divisions.

Floyd’s the bigger draw, what Pacquiao has done in the last 2 years Floyd has been doing for the last 10 years. Pactards know nothing about boxing at all.

  • RAHSBOY says:

To all Floyds Fan: Floyd’s agreement to pay 10M penalty if he come overweight was appropriate since he cheated Marquez on their fight. Weight at 147 is the standard WW weight max fair level. Agreeing to it doesn’t give Floyd the dictatorial right and force Pac agree to his term. Pac tried to meet at middle by counter offering 3x blood and 24/7 urine only that the blood to be at some certain days. 1 @press conf, 1x 30 d bef, 1x right after the fight. The fight contract is a “meeting of their minds”.
THERE WAS NO MEETING OF THE MINDS” PERIOD. Besides, PAC has some sort of bad experience when he fought Morales the 1st time and he blame the blood test done on him 2 days before his fight with Morales. This is Pac’s weakness Floyd’s wanted to exploit.

  • Hector says:

Pacquiao is # 1 and rich. He doesn’t need mr # 2 Fraud Mayrunner for anything whatsoever. Anyway, why you still talking about this? Kentucky Floyd Chicken is busy trying to find a way to duck Mosley right now while trying to find another 135lb fighter to face him at 146lb then claim to be the best and pay off his debts while his father and uncle beat women and take drugs.

  • Jared says:

This fight will never happen because pbf doesn’t want it to happen. Any boxing fan who is not on drugs or alcohol can figure out what happened. Manny has moved on to a new opponent. pbf is still stalling (negotiating is what gbp calls it)…

  • Bandit says:

    @ Samwell

    well said,.. I agree

  • Bandit says:

Pac already won this fight long before it became an issue.

  • Summ Well D says:

I repeat it again for the sake those of you who seems to be at the peak of Mt. Everest in the past three months when these mess came up:
Before the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, Mayweather Sr. & Jr. were saying that Pacquiao is no match with Jr. bec. Manny is “one dimentional” and Jr. has “ring generalship”, etc. Then, after Manny demolished Cotto with Manny seems unfazed of Cotto’s best punches, the Mayweathers Sr. & Jr. got scared and changed their tune to “We can’t believe this guy… (Manny), he must be on something…!!”

Then the public clamor and pressure build up that Pacquiao and Floyd fight to once and for all settle who is the p4p king. Meanwhile, Roach was saying that because of Manny’s injured ear, they need time for Manny’s next bout. The Mayweathers took advantage of that time frame and to show that Jr. is not afraid of Manny, they agreed to fight with Manny but they purposely chose March 13, 2010 hoping that Manny’s camp will not agree because it’s too short a time as Manny needs to recuperate. But when Arum went to Manila and laid down the initial terms and date, in five minutes Manny agreed. The Mayweathers were shocked, their gambit didn’t worked!!! So, when Sheaffer and Arum were supposed to go to Dallas to met Jones regarding the venue, Shaeffer cancelled the appointment. Then they openly declared that Pacman is on “steroid” that “the Philippines has the best HGH drugs in the world”, etc. and demanded an Olympic style random testing after seeing the Pacman’s interview after he lost to Morales due to blood being drawn 2 days before the fight. Their insistence on “random” testing is just a ploy to get out of the fight because Floyd is afraid of Manny.

It’s clear that the Mayweathers camp was in bad faith from the beginning because they have no real intention that the fight happen.

  • Letsfightnucca! says:

Does anybody remember Pac ducking Mosley. Mosley offered to meet him at 143 and they said no! I wonder y that is. Oh and another thing PBF asked for one thing and that was random testing. He agreed to everything top rank put in front of him ie 10mi per pound which is ridiculous n itself. Y is it so to give blood to prove you’re not using. He had blood drawn the night b4 Morales and lost the nxt day. ” I vow to never do that again becuz I feel it weakens. Maybe it’s becuz u had a $hitty training camp. I jus had my blood drawn for work and went ran 5 miles with no ill result That’s horse poo!

Later on maywether said 14 days into the fight.

Folks, it’s Maywether requiring the blood test. The boxing commision (Nevada) does not. If they fight in another State, Maywether will be found to be taking banned substance, no Texas or New Jersey but he likes to have Nevada’s boxing rules be changed.

Now, Maywether camp will be asking Mosley camp,i.e., Golden Boy for random blood testing. This will be comical and I am holding my breath waiting for supposedly Maywether-Mosley fight.

Mosley accepted the fact that he had taken EPO. Will the blood test find it? Hummm..

But I have not heard any announcement about that suggested fight. Is Maywether trying to get another smaller and weaker fighter?

  • lex_fugitive says:

Floyd will continue to fight the best. while Manny will continue to fight people the public has never heard of. Last night, Manny tried to insist he was fighting Floyd simply because he wouldn’t give blood the day of the fight. When Brian Kenny told him he wouldn’t have to give blood for two weeks before the fight,Manny didn’t know what to do or say. So today, its a different excuse, but if the reporter would have asked about the $10 mil. rule Manny invented he would have been just as flustered. Its been a month and Manny still can’t decide why he won’t take random blood tests. I’m over it, Mayweather-Pacquiao will never happen. I know Floyd will continue to fight the best though. Manny refused to fight Mosley and Mayweather, and I don’t see him agreeing to fight Williams, so I don’t know who is out there that he is willing to fight. He won’t fight JMM or Bradley at the lower weights. Maybe Arum will throw Manny in with Margarito. No blood tests and no checking the hand wraps- anything goes!!

  • kming07 says:

so I’m guessin that the reason that this is a megafight is because only pac is in it. That’s a joke because when pac fought the same fighters the turn outs were lower, so either all those dela hoya fans didnt want to see it or all those marquez fans didn’t want to, but explain how their fights with floyd made more money.

  • propps says:

yeah cotto is a beast, but he top rank an thts where the @hit gets dirty, yeah clotty is ok but he top rank yeah yuri forman is a gaint an can box a little but guess wht? u got it he top rank. Do yall really believe bob dont know who will win? yeah right, jus listen to him talk he open about wht will happen with a big smile on his face an it always comes true even roach knows it,thts y they got up from the table an over 40mil an the chance to settle the p4p spot because pbf wouldnt wasnt top rank an wouldnt dehidrate himself or take a fall

  • wambam says:

Has pac NEVER BEEN CUT B4?????
He looses more blood DURING rounds than WHATS REQUIRED for the test!!!!!

  • Jayzee says:

@elcondor I like and agree with everything you said except for this. Mayweather’s intent: Noble and commendable. That just about made me spill my beer on my keyboard. I don’t think Mayweather demanded those bloodtestings because he was noble and true. But because he just wanted to bully Pacquiao. If he was really truly noble in his intent, than he wouldn’t have done this in this way.

  • jreid says:

The fighter that needs the money the most will give in and we all know thats Floyd. His problem is he thinks he is the bigger draw in all his fights. When Floyd faught Oscar and Marquez most of the fans that paid for the fight were Latinos supporting their fighter. When Floyd faught Hatton 80 percent of the fans came for Hatton And that was in Floyds back yard. So I suggest Floyd drop that Im bigger than the sport and I can make up the rules attitude.

  • jurbinsky says:

You worded it as if Pacquiao solely was responsible for “unmaking” that fight. For you and for Maywether, 24 days and right after the match blood test is not enough. Suddenly, you both became Phd in biochemistry.

$10M as penalty is just to safeguard the agreement. Floyd, Jr. cheated Marquez on that. When that $10M penalty clause was agreed upon, everyone was thinking everything will be OK but NO. Maywether, be it Floyd Sr or Roger, came out with random testing by non-boxing commission.

What do you and Maywether sacred about “growth hormone”? Even if Pacquiao did ingest it, Maywether is still bigger in physical size. That’s why catchweight was adopted to prevent too much discrepancy in weights between fighters during the match.

This should be the stipulation: On the day of the fightt, both fighters must be legit WELTERWIGHTs, not middleweight. No one should exceed 147 pounds. I bet my dollar if Floyd, Jr. will accept it.

  • propps says:

listen if pbf feels pac is on somthing he has EVERY right to ask since las tim i checked he was the only one that could get in the ring not his fans or haters or trainers jus him an he dont have the luxury of steriods an a dirty promoter to bail him out with judges like pac does..an let record show tht in negotions u spose to ask for things thts y its called negotiating but pac lelf the table while pbfs team was still sitting now whos running

  • kming07 says:

It’s not the fact that they weighed the same at sixteen. Its in the manner that manny has beat his opponent is what makes the problem he manhandles a naturally bigger man that being cotto who’s no slouch and a heavy hitter. On the other hand floyd is a defensive fighter who doesn’t knockout the bigger man but outsmarts them, that’s why you wouldn’t suspect floyd and feel a bit suspicious toward pac

  • Andre00 says:

You all looking for reasons and excuses to blind your eyes, just cause you Manny fans does not want to accept that Manny came with all kinds of bums excuses not to take blood test, they were in negotiation, Floyd didn`t make any rules or nothing, he had his request, so did Manny, Manny/Roach are hiding something, only logical reason for not accepting such request, you manny fans, need to open your eyes, escape that tunnel view and see things clearly, think for a minute, Arum never wanted this match, while in negotiation, Arum was trying to setup other fights, 1 day after boom all of a sudden Clottey is in the picture, and Floyd had no fighter, because he really wanted to fight Manny, OPEN YOU FILIPINO’S EYES, s h i t man!!

  • propps says:

whn did pac become the commsioner he askin for 10mil every inch over, thts not rules 8oz gloves thts not rules, bobs cash cow never intented to fight he only fights top rank fighters look at his last fight an all his upcoming fights

  • ElCondor says:

Bottomline is: this random blood testing, though “noble” in its intent…is the result of Mayweather’s own rule-making. If there’s a concern at all about fighters using drugs, then let the states’ respective Boxing Commissions address the issue and establish their own blood testing protocols. But under no circumstances should a fighter dictate on another how and when his opponent should be tested. That’s why we have Commissions – to regulate and oversee these fights.

Mayweather’s anti-drug stance is commendable, but it’s too little, too late (and perhaps all for show). If he’s worried about drugs being peddled around and about, then he need not look far: Papa Mayweather spent time in the joint for drug-dealing. Floyd, Jr. should first clean up his own house before demanding that others come clean!

  • abercombie says:

You cannot really trust Mayweather, despite having Marquez go up 2 weight divisions over his natural weight, Floyd still weighed in over the agreed weight. Even a $20M/lb penalty is justifiable considering Floyds dirty tactics. As far as blood testing, if Floyd can’t follow NSAC rules, then he shouldn’t be fighting in Vegas. It is best for the boxing fans that he retire permanently.

  • propps says:

pbf dnt need pac as u can tell by the biggest fight in history, pac is doing ok bob is doing good while pbf is doing better than both

  • rob says:

why should any boxer opt out of the regulating body within that jurisdiction. Mayweathers requests are not for a fighter to determine.

  • M. Lim says:

When did Mayweather become a commissioner of Boxing? He is just running scared, simple as that. Pacman will KO him in less than 3 minutes.

  • JuneBug says:

Mayweather is the biggest coward in the world. Everyone knew he would pull something like this. He weighed just as much as Pacquiao did when they were 16. If you accuse Pacquiao of steroids, then you might as well accuse any athlete who is at the top of their game. Not everybody cheats. What a disgrace to his sport. Pacquiao would have fought him in a second. He fears none and has proven it. As for Dela Hoya he is even a bigger coward than Mayweather. He’s all money and the fact that he would even defend Mayweather shows how low he has gone.

  • kming07 says:

neither of them need each other they’ll make their money, but please don’t put it all on Floyd. They both asked for special conditions, so if he needs to drop his nonsense so should pac drop his 10 million dollar nonsense

  • z says:

Neither camp will budge, they will have the same issues 6 months or a year from now as they had during this fiasco.

Nothing will change, this fight will never happen.
