Mayweather vs Pacquiao: It’s Still Not Over

By Frank Car: Contrary to news circulating that the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout is off once again. I still believe it’s not over. “It’s off” is something we have heard, what, three or four times now? Although my optimism is somewhat fading, there is still time for what a source called a “business deadline” for the Mega-Fight to be made.
There is not that much to say, other than we need to wait for more official news to surface, from both camps. It has been Pacquiao’s camp to once again say it’s off. That is no surprise seemingly how it has been Pacquiao’s camp to be quick to say it’s off numerous times in the past. It could be a negotiations tactic, but how many times you cry wolf. This time though, things seem to be a bit more serious for there is not much time left to strike a deal, but there is some time left.
You know in most negotiations, either side would probably be glad to take any type of drug test if they could chose, say the glove size. Pacquiao wanted 8 ounce gloves Mayweather wanted 10, they are using 8. Or say the weight, Pacquiao wanted 147 Mayweather wanted 154, they are going at 147. Or perhaps the date, Pacquiao wanted March, Mayweather wanted May; they are doing it in March. The only real demand I have seen Mayweather make is for Pacquiao take the random blood test, but alleged accusations beforehand that Pacquiao is using PED’s probably didn’t help that any.
In any case a Olympic-style random blood test would take 3-5 random blood tests and 4-9 random urine tests or so. And in each of those blood tests, you would probably lose more blood if you got a bloody nose then they would require. A random drug test (which is almost the only way it can be effective) to seal the deal for the fight of the century is really and truly not that big of a deal in my view.
Pacquiao has always shown class and integrity in and outside the ring. On this one though, I am not seeing eye to eye with him. However I do understand him not enjoying being bombarded with accusations of doping, but denying a state-of-the-art drug test isn’t helping it any.
For a fun fact, if you donate an entire pint of blood you get paid $0. If you donate plasma – which is a part of blood and about a 2 hour process – you get paid around 25$. But a few random drops may keep some from making millions.
Each side may be waiting until the final seconds to see if the other side gives in until they themselves do. (That can make sense if you read it a few times)
If this bout doesn’t proceed, each boxer would be walking away from about $40 million each… I would think someone is going to turn around and pick it up.

Here’s the thing…. Mayweather is just another boxer who has “NO” rights to demand another boxer on what to do. He needs to man up and fight the “Best Pound 4 Pound Boxer”. “Manny Paquiao”. This is not like the Mayweather/ Marquez fight. He straight up bought that firght. First, he had to re-schedule the fight because he is not so ready to fight Marquez because he would get his ass kicked. But Marquez is so desperate he had no choice but to follow the his leader, Mayweather. Second, Mayweather did not meet the weight he suppose to, or else the fight might have turned out to be in Marquez’s favor. Instead, he offered Marquez $300 some dollars each pound he is over. Again, desperation leads to defeat and domination. So, he faces a smarter and tougher challenge “Manny Paquiao”… the buttom line is… sign the contract and fight. No demands! You are just another boxer and as a matter of fact, you are NOT even that good. Also, tell your father, Mayweather Senior… he must admit the fact that Freddie Roach is the best coach ever, “Not him”. Sign the contract and fight! fight! fight!!! Mabuhay!

As you should or probably already saw somewhere or read somewhere, the reason for Pac not wanting to test too close to the fight (lower than 30 days – considering he gave 24) is because of what happened to Morales 1.
Just a simple analogy:
You can’t convince a clustrophobic that he’ll be alright no matter what you tell him. It’s the same as Pacquiao will still think that it (testing too close to the fight) will weaken him even if you, I or even the all mighty above would tell him.
what is the different that if u take the blood 14 days before the fight and just a minute after the fight in order to find some of those crap
well… never mind, now, i just hope that Pacman will fight Marquez in 140 or Bradley or Berto or Mosley in 147

If u clean, u take the cut off of 14 days for 40 million, if u juicing up, u lay off the juice for 40 million. I know some of u will say, well what about floyd. Well he gave pac the gloves he wanted, the ring he wanted, agreed on the split and a rediculus overweight fee that he thought floyd would not agree to. All that and u refuse a fair blood test. Pac must be on more than juice. This is a crack head move to me.

Process of Logic:
- Manny went down to 24 from 30 days before.
- Mayweather refused but countered 14 days.
- People accuse that some PED’s can go away in a day after not using it and this is what Pacman coud possibly be on.
Conclusion:
If it only takes a day for this UNKNOWN drug to completely leave the body then even the 14 days that Mayweather is asking is deemed pointless too isn’t it?
If there is one person here who still hasn’t saw the video of Pac trying to explain what happened after the 1st Morales fight then maybe you should then start processing the thought. If you have experienced something that you think contributed to a poor performance, wouldn’t you do everything in you power to avoid that situation again especially in the most highest of stages that you fight???
And lastly, just with all honesty to all Pacquiao accusers, who amongst you here actually thought that he was on PED’s before Mayweather Sr. started blabbing his mouth?
here is my view of Floyd:
1. He knew that Pacquiao will be in on election in May
2. We all knew that Pacquiao need some time to heal the body after Cotto’s fight, so in Floyd’s mind that Pacquiao will say “NO” if the bout will take time in March
3. So.. Floyd agreed to make the bout in May or in Marc
4. He thought that Pacquiao will say “NO” during the time (March or May), so the fans will appreciate Floyd for his courage on it
5. But later, Pacquiao say “YES” to Floyd’s challege
6. After that, Floyd was confused that he has to find the way out (not to fight Pacman), cause he knows that his 0 wont last any longer
7. Floyd doesnt care aboout the money or the pride, he knows his self very well and so he will take any other way to protect him self of being punishment by the gloves or even the media
8. than, here come the way out after somebody told him that Pacquiao will refuse to the fight if only he have to take his blood drawn 24 hours before the fight.

Floyd is scared. What’s the big deal taking a blood test after the fight? Pacquiao didn’t say he does not want to be tested.And plus he was never tested of anything int the past. He agreed to give unlimited blood to mayweather 1 min after the fight. Coward Floyd…… ahahahahahahahahaha Is this your idol? sahme on you Floyd…
People keep talking about Pacquiao’s Filipino pride being the reason he doesn’t want to agree to random blood testing. Then they say he is a very humble and god fearing man. Which one is it? Is he a proud(egotistical) Filipino male. Or is he a humble god fearing man. The last time I checked pride was one the 7 cardinal sins.
I don’t see how 24 days is a compromise. They asked for random blood testing. Having a test scheduled for 24 days before the fight is the opposite of random. And Bob Arum claiming to be agreeable is like a wolf claiming to be a vegetarian. Is this the guy that said that the Mayweather team had to make a public apology for the fight to happen? Does that sound agreeable?
I think the problem is with Paquaio. Floyd has never ducked anyone.Look at his resume, it is as strong as Pacman’s. They have recently faced the same opposition. Hatton, Delahoya, and Marquez, with basically the same results. Never has any fighter looked so good moving up in weight, increasing power and speed, through several weight divisions. Most boxers have had difficulty achieving this if you look throughout history. Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, and Roberto Duran lost something, but Paquaio became stronger and faster. One can ask the question. A guy doesn’t get that much stronger after being knocked out twice, in brutal fasion by small men. Paquaio went from 106lb to 147lb. He had trouble with Marquez, who Mayweather handled easily. Malinaggi and many other boxers, who also train every day, know what it takes and they believe its not natural. So unless Paquaio is Superman, neither do I. He walks thru good punchers like nothing happened. If you watch his fights he was stunned alot in the smaller weight classes, but Cotto couldn’t hurt him. Come on just take the darn test. Anyway, I like Paquaio fighting Foreman because Foreman has a unique style and is tougher than people think. He is always supposed to loose according to the critics, yet often shuts his opponents out in points. He fights anyone they put in front of him and shows no fear.
Sorry but in regards to all this lets say pacman is on steroids. Your a pro fighter your opponent is really good as it is but than they are on steroids as well how would any of you guys feel about that. Yea floyd can say ok I’ll do it pacmans way and possibly have a fight with a superhuman lol but yea most people would like to see mayweathers ass get handed to him. Or pacman can say ok I’ll do it take the test and prove to his country and all around the world he’s as honest and humble a man as we all see him as and that he reached this point in boxing all the fights and belts fair n square. He’d have nothing to loose and would actually gain more respect from even die hard mayweather fans.Only reason a pacman declines in a situation like this is something to hide . the bigger, faster, more knockout punching Pacquiao? Okay, for one, May is bigger. Two, May has quicker handspeed than Pacquiao. yes, pacman has more power…but lets be honest with eachother. I think there are good points to be made on both sides. For exampl, why Mayweather brought this up just for this fight. But nothing can steer me away from the fact that Pacquiao just wont accept random tests. Now, i understand that people in that part of the world are very religious and spiritual, but every excuse that the Pac camp has come up with, has backfired. no needles (tattoos), weakens him within 30 days (hatton=14 days), it just doesnt make sense. i too, do not believe this fight is dead. by monday, the fight will be on!

Lol . Ok Im a mayweather fan and a pacman fan. If you guys pay attention to the pacman vs cotto fight. Cotto proved not only you can beat him to the punch but he can get hurt . Cotto beat him with the jab and than like most fighters all of a sudden stop doin what seems to be working. Also I believe it was the 3rd or 4th round cotto hurt pacman clearly dazed him but cotto didnt follow up like he should and pacman’s accuracy greatly dropped that round. Anyway pacman is good but mayweather skill is greatly under estimated because of his mouth. But all you guy’s don’t realize history is repesting it’s self. They said the same thing about the 1 we all love, Muhammad Ali. When Ali was around he was worse than mayweather and most hated that about him they couldn’t take his mouth but now that he’s older n retired every 1 gives him his credit. Mayweather is not fully there yet but when he is and fights the so called tough fights and wins. Than will all who despise him give him his credit?

I agree with blood test AFTER the very fight, NOT days before the fight, whats wrong with that? I feel weak losing blood even few drops before the fight, that’s my experience.

- You are told to fast before the test, skipping a meal usually. Manny also believes taking blood from his body is unnatural and whether you believe him or not, if he claims it has a psychological effect on him, then you have to consider it. There was a Jamaican Olympic Sprinter who felt weak going into his race because of USADA’s random blood testing. He still won, but made a point to say it weakened him mentally and physically.
- From what I have witnessed from Team Pacquiao, the anger and stubbornness to give in to Team Mayweather’s request has MUCH more to do with the way GBP and Team Mayweather handled the request itself.
If all Mayweather had said was “Hey, this is the biggest fight of my life, I want to make sure we are on even terms, let’s negotiate a mutually agreed upon drug testing protocol before the fight,” that would be one thing.
But instead, his father so much as accuses Manny of being on drugs, later Floyd Jr. goes onto XM radio and implies that since the Philipines make some of the best PED’s in the world, Manny might be on them, and this leads to a trickle down effect where everyone from Cotto to DLH to Malignaggi and so forth start flexing there “expertise” on the matter. It’s uncalled for, unfounded (there is no evidence of sudden weight gain by Manny, just less dehydration prior to fights, FACT), and unfair to the other fighter.
I am a proud supporter of Manny as a fighter and as a person. And if the table’s were turned I would give Floyd Jr. the same benefit of the doubt (neither of these fighters have ever tested positive for anything in their long careers).
The only problem is, I don’t believe Manny would stoop so low as to accuse Floyd Jr. of something without some sort of produceable evidence.

All these claims that “if he has nothing to hide, why not just take the test??” are asinine. If you’re pulled over, do you let the officer illegally search your car, just because you have nothing to hide? It’s a matter of principle.

Again, Manny is already a billionaire many times over in the his country. Yes it is 40 million. but it’s like saying bill gates can make another 2 billion on top of his 40 billion dollar fortune. If Floyd genuinely wanted a bigger awareness of PED testing and want to clean up boxing, as some claim, he could have petitioned the NSAC anytime in the last 2 years. He was retired for 18 months! He could have started with his bout with Marquez. Just requesting it now just seems a little too coincidental as to what his real motives are.
Even Schaefer and Haymon tried to persuade Floyd with the 24-day cutoff deal, but he wouldn’t budge. That goes to show even Floyd’s handlers are recognizing that the deal is fair, especially since Pacquiao agreed to blood tests which is more than what the NSAC is requesting.
You think it is easy for Pac to just accept the test? It would be easier for Floyd just to drop that ridiculous request and just agree to the terms of the mediation. The thing is, what even go to mediation, if wasn’t willing to compromise?
First of all both camps have declined offers, Arum is the one who keeps “cancelling” the fight, GBP hasn’t done that at least… But anyways if Manny or Floyd fights anybody else, I’m going, hoping to kickstart a riot of some sort…
I believe that the real problem is Floyd Mayweather himself being the coward chicken that does everything avoid the bouts against more powerful, faster and proven knockout fighters like Pacquiao.
Advice to Floyd, better shut you big mouth and accept to the mediated agreement! Be a man and face the real challenge in the ring.
