It’s important that I give my body and mind some much needed rest, because I have been boxing for nearly 20 years,” said Taylor. “I plan on keeping myself in shape and making a return to the sport sometime in the future. This was not an easy decision for me, having discuss it with my family, trainer, friends and my adviser Al Haymon, because I’m a very competitive person-but I know this is the smart road for me to take. I want to thank SHOWTIME Sports for everything and I wish the best for my 5 counterparts who will continue on in the Super Six tournament. Most of all, I want to thank the many fans for their continued support.”

I belive that his mind was strangled ,, it took some confidence out of him ,, three last fights lossing by knockouts,, in the last rounds,,or towrds the end .. that can and will have an impact on a fighter ,, I lIKE jermain, but his heart to box, was steped on,, he has not recorverd from it,,, hopefuly his time out will regain his confidence in himself and have the heart he once had ,, good luck Jermain ,, start beliving in you once again,

    include Bute, Pavlik, or Williams.
I am sure Mayweather doesn’t have the balls

  • Squaredealkd says:

Jermain, you are the best fighter in the Middle Weight division, don’t let anyone tell you that you are not. You could definitely beat your next opponent & more than likely won the tournament. Get in the right shape and stay in the right shape and get back out there. Make sure you don’t take too long.

    Thanks!

Im glad he left the tournemant i didnt want to see him get hurt he was one of my favourite fighters. He should have a few warm up fights and then come back against a better opponent.

Bute, Bieka or Green should take his place

  • slumpy says:

Sakio bika should step in he will be a hard fight for any of the fighters left in the tourney

  • PIJoe123 says:

Gutless Kelly Pavlik should step up. He should have been in the tourney before. He’s supposed to be the best middleweight in the world? He passed on the Super 6 tourney so needs to fight Paul Williams or step down as the Ring Mag (lineal champ). He let Middleweight Arthur Abraham embarrass him by moving up from Middle to fight all the best Super Welters. His one high point was beating Taylor. Paul Williams is ranked as #10 P4P in the world, but as the champ of the division Pavlik isn’t. He looks like a cherry picking coward about now. A middleweight version of Floyd Mayweather.

It’s a bad new for me.
Unfortunately, Taylor found the most powerful opponent in the first shot of the tournement. He boxed well, even if Abraham was ahead, before the monstous ko.
I think Taylor could beat all the remaining five opponents. Not an easy challenge, but possible. :-(
