Frank Warren: There is a rumour a certain British fighter is using HGH – News

By Liam Santiago: In his weekly column in the sun, Frank Warren claims that there is a strong rumour that a certain British fighter is using human growth hormones. However, Warren did not state which boxer it is. You must figure that out for yourself. Warren said, ”The use of growth hormone could be an increasing problem within boxing. There is a strong rumour one British fighter – and his trainer – have been taking it”.

Warren went on to say, ”HGH, a naturally-occurring substance, adds bulk if taken in excessive amounts and is seen by some idiots as the perfect pill for fighters who want to move quickly into higher weight divisions. The British Boxing Board of Control get a lot of things right when it comes to protecting the safety and interests of boxers, and I’d like to see fighters randomly tested for HGH”.

Personally, I could not begin to even think about which fighter he may be talking about. I have not got the slightest clue who it may be. I honestly thought all British fighters were, as they say in the drug industry, clean.

I will probably make myself unpopular here but I think that Kerry Kayes fella pushes his CNP products on fighters way too much which was initially made for protein-obsessed body builders and gives alot of people a false sense of belief more than anything. Cod liver oil and vitamins are just as formidable in terms of nutrition.

It’s obviously Haye and Booth he’s referring to. And he knows it or he wouldn’t have mentioned the fighter – and his trainer – part. Crafty old Frank…

And just because you pass drugs tests it doesn’t mean you don’t use anything..it just means whatever was used wasn’t in your system at that point.

HGH can out of the body within 48 hrs. So when a fighter says i’m happy to take a blood test AFTER the fight but not in the immediate period before you have to wonder why… And EPO testing is very ineffective for similar reasons.

Anyway gear use in boxing has been going on years.. Shane Mosley, James Toney, Frans Botha.. there are many others who got away with it..

It goes on..people need to deal with it

    It’s Mathew Hatton. Ha.

Asif, Margarito was not juicing! Though I do agree with you, PED usage should bring long term bans, though there needs to always be light at the end of tunnel to allow people to be rehabilitated. What Margarito had used, was a loaded wrap. This means the Knunckle part of the wraps was almost clayed over and was like hitting someone with a rock, once you have forced the padding in your glove back similar to how Tyson would do before a fight.

It’s David Haye no doubt. I don’t think HGH will grow him a new heart that he needs to fight either Klitchko. HGH won’t change the fact that he is a COWARD!!!

  • d light says:

it Ricky Hatton and Adam Booth.Have you seen the size of Hatton lately?

  • Ben says:

    Haye is not using anything

He has been building his body for well over a year. And hes always been powerful.

David Haye got to the top of the sport without franks backing. Haye is looking for a 20 million pound pay day for one nights work late 2010.

Haye is a pro athlete, he would not refuse blood tests before his fights.

  • David Mason says:

Froch? But he hasnt moved divisions? Where did you hear that? And have you seen his trainer, he’s more likely on Cod Liver Oil joint supplements than HGH.

The only boxer trainer combo I can think of, that are both units and have got bigger recently are a pairing from south london. I happen to have a lot of respect in spite of these allegations for that pairing and although not everyones cup of tea, they are making a certain division interesting and are showing promotional abilities beyond their years.

  • J says:

    It’s David Haye obviously
