Bradley – “What about me?” [for a fight with Pacquiao or Mayweather]
By James Harold: Now that the mega-bout between five-time wold champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and seven-division champ Manny Pacquiao appears to be in pieces, World Boxing Organization light welterweight star Timothy Bradley has something to ask the two best fighters in the world, “The real question is what about Tim Bradley.” The 26-year-old World Champion, who is 25-0 with 11 knockouts is arguably the best light welterweight in the world bar the Filipino sensation Pacquiao.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but now that they’re not fighting each other, you’ve got a gentleman right here, and I’m screaming and I’m waving my hands up in the air saying, ‘Let’s fight!’ You know? ‘Come on, let’s fight!’” commented Bradley, from his home in Palm Springs, Calif.
This would be a great fight for either Floyd Mayweather or P4P King Manny Pacquiao, as Bradley is very much a hot fighter right now, who is highly regarded in the boxing world. His scalp would be a great name to have on both fighters impressive resumes.
When questioned about any future fight he replied “I don’t know how true this is, but this is what I’m reading is that I understand that I guess that Floyd is supposedly trying to get a fight with Paulie Malignaggi. But I’m like, ‘Malignaggi? What about me?’” said Bradley, who looked fantastic from the start to finish against Peterson.
“And then, you’ve got Pacquiao going up to try to make history by winning his eighth title by going up and to face Yuri Foreman?” said Bradley. “I’m like, ‘Who is Yuri Foreman? He just won a world title and he gets a title shot already?’”
Malignaggi, 27-3, five KOs, is a feather fisted 140-pound pure boxing slickster known for his brilliant courage in his loss to a then in-form Miguel Cotto. Foreman, on the other hand, 28-0, eight KOs is a relatively unknown, unexciting fighter, who lacks the power to hurt Manny, beat Daniel Santos in November to become WBA junior middleweight champion.
“I’d go up to 147 pounds to face any of these guys. And I’m a 140-pounder. I’ll do whatever it takes,” said Bradley. Bradley in my opinion deserves a shot at one or both of these great fighters, and any fight that may happen would be an exciting affair.
When asked about a potential fight with the 23-year-old WBA champ, Amir Khan, 22-1, of England, he responded “I’m reading that Amir Khan don’t want to fight, and he’s got a purse bid coming up against Maidana, and that if he has to face Maidana then he’s going to vacate”.
Hopefully this fight can be made for later this year, and with the right promotion and at least a top quality performance, Bradley can become one of the top P4P fighters in the world and make him an instant household name. Bradley posses alot more skills in the sweet science than most of the names being thrown around as future opponents for Money and Manny.

the hitman has balls hes faced floyd and pac !!!
James mc, fair enough…peace…
ravaenous-i do like bradley a just think at this moment he is totaly untested, and to pit him against pac or floyd would undoubtedly be a bad loss for bradley.and at his age amd potential this could be a very bad careare move, look at pavlik he had the world at his feet till he bumped into hopkins.so a dont think it would be right for bradley to fight eaither of them just yet.
LouDogg, you are prolly right about Floyd being too big but Manny & Tim are a GOOD match…Pac’s POWER will more likely win the fight but that’s only my speculation…
I would like to see what happen in the ring—rather than my crystal ball–…
I like Bradley, but has anyone seen him against a decent lefty, much less anyone like Pac? Sounds like a tall order for the Desert Storm. His pressure and athleticism would carry him in the match, but have a hard time imagining him actually winning.
Mayweather is probably too big, strong, and good at counter-punching for Bradley.
That said, it would be great for someone to give Bradley a shot on the big stage.
James mc, the only thing Tim is doing is WINNING…and winning against VERY good competition…he has QUALITIES that you—as a boxing fan—should also like: fearlessness, relentlessness, dedication & willingness to fight…
Your DOWNGRADING is un-called for…
how does bradley deserve a shot at eaither,he totaly unporven with not 1 top class fighter on his record, the best 2 being a 35 year old witter, who wa way by his best and 37 year old campbel, with campbel also being the hardest hitter he faced with a 62% ko record, all cuming at lightweight, this tells me hes total unproven and has a total unproven chin, expeshaly after being knocked down by the light hitting holt who has a 43% ko record.
Neither Pac nor Floyd will fight TB at this juncture…they both CAN beat him but Tim is a HANDFULL for anybody…they will AVOID a headache…
Manny would fight him but would FMJ?
To Eric Sean. “Pacman vs Marquez III is giong to rear it’s ugly head”?!?
They where two of the greatest fights ever you complete muppet!! What sort of a “boxing fan” would’t want to see the 3rd fight?
If your so clever you know the result of fights before they even take place find another sport that is more challenging to your superior clairvoyant super brain.
You would’t last 10 seconds training with Marquez, have some respect.
Pacman is fighting Joshua Clottey in March
ide pay to see bradley fight either one of these guys. he is much more intriguing to me then paulie, foreman, either hatton or marquez-pac 3.
I would still rather see them fight martinez or williams but if they refuse to fight those 2 which im sure they will then bradley is the only one i would pay to see.
Although Manny would love that 8th title i say: forget Foreman, fight Bradley.
Time bradley will whoop ass!
“Malignaggi, 27-3, five KOs, is a feather fisted…” hehe, i like this one.
I love Pacman but he’s not looking to good right now in the eyes of many people. Fighting Bradley is his best bet right now to regain some of the lost confidence from true boxing fans. The winner of Berto Mosley would be decent too. Foreman wouldn’t be too horrible I guess but fighting Malignaggi would be a huge disgrace.
This really shouldn’t be a difficult decision to make since Bradley is pretty much begging for the fight.
manny wants no part in bradley. he should just vacate the 140 championship and give bradley a chance to win it. we all know bradley is the best at 140. manny only fights fighters he and his team knows he can beat. that’s why he didn’t want the floyd fight. if manny knew that he can beat floyd, he would have sucked it up and taken the blood tests. in a perfect world i would have manny face bradley at 140 for all the marbles and floyd take on joshua clottey who is the highest ranked welter who doesn’t have a fight schedule. its a shame this mega fight isn’t happening but the least both can do is find suitable subs.
Bradley may be the only person of value Manny can fight at this point.Hell! I’d love to see it.
Mayweather-Pacquiao will happen at sometime and neither fighter is willing to risk that amount of money with a real grade A opponent. The risk-reward ratio just isn’t there right now for Bradley to get one of these two. the good news is he’s getting some press and if he beats Khan or some other quality fighter he might get enough press to get the winner of the mega-fight.
I like the way that the writer talks about Mallinaggi’s punching power lol
We all know that he is feather fisted as you pointed out but Timothy Bradley isnt exactly a huge puncher. Bradley has a below 50 percent knockout ratio.
I would love to see a gentleman fighter like Timothy Bradley get a shot at Manny. I believe Manny should instruct Arum that Timothy would be his next opponent. It would be a nice feather in Manny’s cap, defeating a very respected tough young fighter like Timothy Bradley. I say, Timothy it is.
even though i don’t want to see it because it is basically redundant, pacquiao vs. marquez III is going to rear it’s ugly head into the mix and may end up being the final selection for march. we all know what the result of that matchup would be.
Yep brad v pac would make good sense but f**k cherryweather.
Yup i Rather see pacquiao fight Bradley than fight Foremen/”magic Man”… or a true Light Middle weight like Paul williams or Sergio martinez!
I would much prefer Pac face Bradley than get a trinket belt against Yuri.
