It is really sad how many words are spent on Mayweather and Pacquaio here, as if they were the only boxers on the planet (plus a few other guys popping up now and then). If it wasn't so, it probably wouldn't take almost a week to report on the new IBF welterweight champion. Perhaps Slovenia is just too small a country to be of anything but transient importance (there is only 2 millions of us, btw). I hope Zavec sticks around to remind the rest of the world about us.

Jan Zaveck's real name is Dejan Zavec. He is a Slovene, living in Slovenia (not Slovakia by the way). By saying he is German-based I suppose you mean he has a German trainer and prepares for his fights mostly in Germany. Aside from that, there is nothing really German about him (I am not even sure je speaks German very good). On top of it, Slovene anthem was played before the match. A magnificent reception was prepared for him upon his return to the home country (I believe less than 0.001% of Germans even realized he fought and won until today). So, yes, it bothers me to read he is "German-based".

Otherwise, I agree with your assessment that he dominated from second one and you cannot but ask yourself how a guy like Hlatshwayo ever got the title. I sincerely hope he gets to fight all the praised boxers people write about on this website. Then we can truly see how good he is compared to them.
