Steve Bunce: Calzaghe might fight again – News

By Liam Santiago: Boxing pundit Steve Bunce has said that he thinks former world champion, Joe Calzaghe might fight again in 2010. Speaking on his weekly boxing podcast on William Hill’s website, Bunce said, ”Calzaghe is like a loose cannon (since he retired). Different girlfriends. If you asked me 12 months ago I would have put my house on him staying retired, but now I’m not sure.”
Bunce stated Calzaghe is acting differently than usual. He believes that Calzaghe may be missing fighting. Bunce said he would not be surprised if Enzo and Joe were to call a ‘special announcement’ in Wales and announce he will come back for one last fight.

I should expect all knowledgable boxing men to agree that Joe Calzaghe did not duck any super middle contender beetween 1997-2008 i for one would prefer if Joe remained retired, one thing is for sure Joe could never make super middle again. respect to Joe. good luck and happy new year to all you fight fans THE WELSHMAN.

he has no business coming back..unless he fights another out of their prime ready to retire legend like bhop or jones jr. I think the younger fighters out there would ruin joe’s perfect record….so in retrospect joe should come back to get his ass kicked by an elite fighter right now.
How come you are not commenting on Pacquiao these days. Scared that you may say something that may incriminate you? Maybe you should review all your previous articles about Pacquiao and see if you have said anything that can be trouble to you. But, don’t worry. i would love to see back joe just to fight dawson and if he won i think he would answer alot of the critics questions he cant fight them all froch abraham ward bhop 2 fight etc hes too old now i think he would gain most crediblity i think with a young primed dawson . Who knows its all ifs and buts
if calzaghe comes back there is only one fighter he can fight. and that is B-Hop and i reckon he’ll get beat again!!!

But seriously he should stay retired. I see no real point in him returning. Its not like he retired at 30 like Mayweather.

if calzaghe comes back he should come back only for a return with hopkins.Joe won but he didnt shut him up.Hopkins continued to verbally bully joe after the fight eventhough he only prevented joe from knocking him out by continually feigning injury from the middle rounds onwards.Or perhaps if mr ” offhanded arrogance” froch wins his tournament a battle of britain would be in order.
