Liam ‘The Expert’ Santiago’s pound for pound list is back and there are changes. Pacquiao drops to fourth place after a disappointing win over Miguel Cotto where he failed to impress me. Yes, he fought well. However, weight demands on Cotto played a big part and he proved he can’t fight anyone who is ‘running’ (when Cotto ran). Timothy Bradley moves up a place. Hozumi Hasegawa exits. Hatton drops.

Floyd beat Marquez at a catch weight of 144 ( Floyd came in at 146 ). Marquez is a natural 135 pounder. Floyd beat Hatton at a catch weight of 147. Hatton is a natural 140 pounder. Now, Pacquiao is a natural welterweight and Floyds does not have an advantage. The steroid issue is Floyd’s only chance to avoid this fight otherwise he does not have a choice but to fight Pacquiao. Pacquiao is the only threat to his undefeated record, a record which only himself thinks is what makes him a great fighter, kind of a like Calzaghe, undefeated. This is what the bragging rights of Mayweather is founded upon and Pacquiao is the only obstacle to his so called greatness.
