Roach wants Bradley as sparring partner for Pacquiao – News

By Eric Thomas: According to Phil boxing, Freddie Roach wants WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley to be one of the sparring partners for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to help get him ready for his March 13th fight against unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roach said “Other than Amir Khan as Pacquiao’s main sparring partner, I like to include Timothy Bradley in my list.” It’s unknown if Bradley, a great fighter in his own right, would be interested in being reduced to that of being a sparring partner.
Bradley might not be as fast as Khan, but Timothy would appear to be much tougher and fiercer on the inside than Khan. Pacquiao might also meet his match, because Bradley would seem to be world’s better fighter than any of Pacquiao’s mostly inexperienced sparring partners that he used for his training for the Miguel Cotto fight. Bradley has made no secret about wanting to fight Pacquiao. This would give him a chance to see how he compares to the Filipino fighter.
Bradley, 26, has beaten the following fighters in 2009: Kendall Holt, Nate Campbell and Lamont Peterson. And in 2008, Bradley defeated Junior Witter and Edner Cherry.
If Roach can get Bradley to help Pacquiao with training, then Manny will have a great shot at beating Mayweather come March 13th. Bradley has incredibly fast hands and is very good at fighting both on the inside and outside.

Manny has his own idea…use his anting-anting. On this fight, I will call Manny as the, “magic man.” Watch Manny’s eyes very closely on the night of the fight.

I don’t think Bradley will accept it.
By the way, Roach is assembling a dream team. LOL. But it won’t matter because no one can imitate Floyd. There is no blueprint to beat Mayweather. Plain and simple.
The best roach can do is to make the match up more entertaining only especially during HBO’s 24/7 shows.
Why would bradley be smart to train with roach?!Roach will end up studying bradley so that when khan eventually fights him he can find all his weaknesses!To me its a dumb idea.It might make him a few bucks in the short term but if he and khan fight and khan beats him after roach has studied him intensely at close quarters then the money wont of been worth it!
people dont understand, Amir Khan is the main sparring partner only because of his fast hands/speed resembles mayweather, when it comes to ring knowledge,defense and power roach must require someone whos experienced esp in counter punching!
Bradley as pacman’s sparring partner. . why not? and if offered, Mr. Bradley should grab it,this is his chance to at least TRY in sparring session the P4P KING, both boxers will be benifited,nice idea go go go master Roach.
no matter who the sparring partners of pacman,they can help him increase his ability to beat ugly floyd..floyd will run the whole night counter punching and try to win by decision.sweet science?.it maybe to him but not to boxing fans.he will try to avoid pacman’s attack and the best thing he can do is to run defensively.but i hope he can do it up to 12 rounds..gud luck to ugly floyd.
quick correction eric. pac didn’t train w/inexperienced fighters for the cotto fight. he had juan louis castillo, and someone else………i forgot though. plus freddie offered up a grand to whoever could knock the champ out. just hope bradley doesnt hurt pac

anyway, if pacman’s camp can afford to pay bradley to spar why not? surely it will help him prepare for floyd jr.
If i was bradley i would turn roach down!Roach would use bradley sparring against pacquaio as a way to find bradleys weaknesses so that khan could beat bradley!Timothy if your reading this stay the hell a way from the wildcard boxing club!
I think is in over his head on this one. Timothy Bradley fights different from the way Floyd Mayweather fights.
