Roach hoping to get Andre Berto as another of his ‘Super’ Sparring Partners

By Peter Wells: With Mayweather and Pacquiao getting ready to start training after the Christmas break, Freddie is already rolling in a load of ‘Super’ sparring partners. First of all Amir Khan, whom trains with Freddie, was chosen as a sparring partner as we all knew he would be. Then the recent news is that Roach has chosen WBO Light Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley as another sparring partner. Which would be a good idea, as he has good hand speed, and is well built, but isn’t very tall, which is where Khan would come in.
He is to have Khan and Bradley as his main sparring partners, mainly because they don’t want to get Andre in their big plans just yet, in case something happens in his fight with Mosley. There is no word from camp Mayweather who usually keeps sparring private. Roger Mayweather would need to bring in some good, fast sparring partners who can imitate Manny’s speed, which won’t be easy.
But Berto, Khan and Bradley can’t imitate Floyd’s shoulder-roll style. Mayweather has said many times on HBO 24/7 that he doesn’t train for fighters, they train for him, and he doesn’t watch tapes of his fighters, as he can adapt to any style.

why does every body knock at the wildcard gym, i.e pacman and especailly amir khan,
damn man, a lot of haters, khan is bigger stronger and faster than bradley, yet bradley has the the skills,
hatton does not deserve a shot at the big boys, regardless of what u have done in the past, the past is past, hatton should do britain a favour and fight junior witter, and then a shot at a title,. – period.

Roach is a cockroach – one of the main reasons he wants bradley – berto as sparring partners .
He wants bradley as a sparring partner so he can get a good feel of what kind of fighter he is for khan and come up with a famous game plan. ( Same with berto, also could fight manny if gets past sugar ) Although regardless i think both of them would not have a problem in dispatching khan within 6 7 rounds. Mainly berto!

If i was Berto i would not be a sparring partner for Manny. Hell with that. Berto is on the come up too, and if he manages to beat Sugar Shane in which that is a great possibility, to me it would me that i am not a seriuous contender for Manny. Berto could be next in line to fight Manny, if he beats Sugar Shane. Berto i say no, becuase you canbe next up to bat if he beats Floyd or Floyd beats him, you can be next in line for either fight.
Berto my brother, let’s get pass Sugar Shane first, before any negotiations with Roach are made.
Skills pay the Bills, you can mimic someone, but you cannot be that person. I have a GREAT IMPRESSION OF BERNIE MAC and i do a pretty good bruce lee roundhouse kick, but i am neither one of them. Mayweather will adjust, and change the game plan that Manny rehearse for, and just like anything else if a rocking roll band scheduled got mixed up and they ended up at a Country concert, could they make the adjustment to country music? They might play their style of music, but if the peple don’t like it, the concert would end early. Same thing applys to boxing if the style you prepared for is altered will Manny make he adjustment? Skills pay the Bills.
I agree with Momey Mayweather. People are often imitated, but never duplicated. I can do a Great Bernie Mack impression, but i am not Bernie Mack. When i started in Martial Arts years ago, i can mimic Bruce Lee round house kick, but i am not Bruce Lee. The point that i am making you cannot be the person that you mimic, becuase you don’t have their mind which makes it just an impression. They can train for the shoulder roll style in which Roach is famous for finding patterns of a fighter than teaching his fighter to execute that style, but Floyd is like a rubics cube and he has many combinations, once you think you figured out a way to beat him, then he change the game up. He might come out and bum rush Manny as, and throw off roach whole GP. I doubt that he will, because of him being a strategic fighter. Like Mayweather stated Skills pay the Bills. Manny is a brawler, and Roach is trying to teach him to become a complete fighter, i don’t think a few months is going to do it.
