David Lahr must have been drunk when he watched this fight. Pavlik looked a little slow and sloppy in the first round, but you could practically see the rust falling to the canvass. Furthermore, Espino wasn't landing much at all after the 2nd round. At one point Pavlik made him miss nine straight shots.

It sure does not look like the Williams camp is licking there lips over anything. More like licking their wounds after a 154 pounder with a 50% KO ratio against questionable opposition battered PW around the ring. At present Goosen is actively engaged in denying that they ever had a deal with Pavlik. Goosen has Paul Williams in in protective custody again, just like he did in the summer of 2008.

After a 10 month layoff, ring rust will be present but to what degree depends on the fighter. We agree that Espino, was game coming in with 11 straight victories (though not against top tier competition) but ultimately was out gunned by the middleweight champion, a fighter with a very high ko percentage.

I doubt Williams camp is 'licking their chops' given Mr. Williams, willingness to stand toe to toe and trade shots, totally negating his own greatest asset, his enormous reach. And no one is going to confuse Paul's footwork (which is atrocious) for Ali's either.
And let's no forget the southpaw killer: The straight right! Williams, doesn't go the distance with Kelly
