Mitchell defeats Prescott

By William Mackay: Lightweight Kevin Mitchell (30-0, 22 KO’s) pulled off something of an upset tonight in defeating hard hitting Colombian Breidis Prescott by a 12 round decision in a World Boxing Organization eliminator bout at the Metro arena in Newcastle. The final judges’ scores were 119-110, 118-111 and 117-111 Mitchell landed the more numerous shots and had the better accuracy, but Prescott landed the much harder shots. Mitchell moved a lot in the later rounds to preserve his win.

Excellent performance from Mitchell, stepping up in weight to outbox the dangerous Prescott and win comfortably on points.
Hope he can use this as a stepping stone to move on to bigger and better things including a World title.
I think you need to watch the fight again mate, Prescott was made to miss all night long, looked sloppy and dejected, Mitchell put on a boxing display and shrugged off his best shots, whilst also landing some bombs of his own. He got a well deserved majority decision.
Mitchell truly arrived tonight. We have such a great batch of fighters here in Britain right now.

What you mean is that Mitchell outboxed Prescott on the backfoot and made Prescott miss loads! Mitchell landed some nice hard punches Prescott too, What Scott? oh i know you gonna say Mitchell ran….ROLMAO!!!!
Mtchell stole the show, he showed the difference between himself and Khan is a good chin and harder shots
I didn’t have prescott for one round – Mitchell has totally changed his style under Jimmy Tibbs, and he made prescott look ordinary.
