SARANGANI, PHILIPPINES (Dec. 25)—Saying that his character and person has been questioned, maligned, damaged and tarnished by baseless and false accusations, pound-for-pound boxing king Manny Pacquiao and promoter Top Rank Inc. announced today the filing of a lawsuit within the next few days against the Mayweathers, Floyd Sr. and Jr., et al, and Golden Boy Promotions.
“Enough is enough. These people, Mayweather Sr., Jr., and Golden Boy Promotions, think it is a joke and a right to accuse someone wrongly of using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs. I have tried to just brush it off as a mere pre-fight ploy but I think they have gone overboard,” said Pacquiao in Tagalog while celebrating Christmas with his family here.
“I have instructed my promoter, Bob Arum, head of Top Rank Inc., to help me out in the filing of the case as soon as possible because I have had people coming over to me now asking if I really take performance-enhancing drugs and I have cheated my way into becoming the No. 1 boxer in the world,” said Pacquiao.
Libel, slander and defamation suits are being readied against the accused to once and for all clear out Pacquiao’s good name and character.
This week, Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions came out with a press release threatening to put a stop to the projected biggest fight in boxing history between the two top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, by asking too many unrealistic and unprecedented items on the bargaining table, including that of an Olympic-style drug testing.
“I maintain and assure everyone that I have not used any form or kind of steroids and that my way to the top is a result of hard work, hard work, hard work and a lot of blood spilled from my past battles in the ring, not outside of it,” added the Filipino champion who just turned 31 a week ago. “I have no idea what steroids look like and my fear in God has kept me safe and victorious through all these years.”
“Now, I say to Floyd Mayweather Jr., don’t be a coward and face me in the ring, mano-a-mano and shut your big, pretty mouth, so we can show the world who is the true king of the ring,” said Pacquiao, who has been contemplating on filing a case against Mayweather Sr. even before the start of his Nov. 14 fight with Miguel Angel Cotto. “I did not sue because I did not want to get distracted during that time because I was preparing for one of the toughest fights in my career.”
“Pretty Boy Floyd, face me instead on March 13 in Las Vegas and not in some talk show forum or in press releases written for you by people who don’t even know me. Face me in a fight where I get to punch back. You and your cohorts have accused me of using performance-enhancing drugs. Now, I say, the burden of proof should now come from you, not me,” said Pacquiao, the only seven-time, seven-weight division champion in the history of the sport.
Pacquiao said he is not against any form of drug testing mandated by any state athletic sports commission whenever, wherever he fights. He just finds it funny and stupid to change a system that has been set for decades now. Pacquiao undergoes drug testing and other medical examinations before and after every fight over the past 15 years and has never failed any of these tests.
“These people think they are doing the sport a great service. They are not,” added Pacquiao. “To Floyd, despite all these accusations, may your Christmas be merry and I will see you in court, soon, too.”

In regards to the any lawsuit. I am a lawyer in Chicago and pacman has nothing on anyone because it is only a contractual dispute among two independent parties.

Milkdud…he got caught from tests, but from his admission. He was using the “clear” from BALCO. Want to know what else? If I am not mistaken(I could be wrong), but it is the same stuff that Marion Jones used. And she didn’t get caught either by way of tests, but through further investigations. Basically, Marion Jones didn’t test positive from USADA testing and Mosley didn’t test positive from NSAC testing — neither one tested positive from direct tests.

The simple truth, Mayweather doesn’t want to fight Pacquiao! Despite physical advantages (height, weight speed) he can’t cope with the nagging thought that his perfect record could be tarnished by a smaller man of the calibre Pacquiao. Like to see Mayweather fight boxers at his weight class or above. For example, Paul Williams at catchweight.
This is what is wrong with all sports today. No honor. Every person who has ever had to submit to any form of upper level drug testing knows that you cant mask a masking agent. If you have an elevated creatinin level in you urine(the waste products created when you are metabolizing protein to create muscle)it raises a flag. Either way, you will get caught. The problem is people, who is qualified to monitor the samples? With this much money on the line and the absurd egos involved, how can anyone trust any results? If Mayweather was willing to take an unfair advantage into the ring against Marquez, why not one outside of the ring? Do you understand that there aren’t any professional athletes that are willing to take as many urine tests as the Pacquiao camp is willing to undergo, because as everyone in the medical field knows, the body must expel any and all substances that are ingested. You cant mask any substances if a urinalysis is administered every 48 hours, because the masking agent will give a positive test. The big problem is what can be ingested that wont look like a masking agent in the urine? This testing with the blood is garbage, its unwarranted, and plain hitting below the belt fighting and as a very popular half black individual said(Malcolm X) “by any means necessary”, but is this means really that necessary?

Just by people asking Manny to take a test means there is already a cloud of doubt. You want to guess where that doubt came from? The Mayweathers. So them accusing Manny of doping has already had an impact. BUt do they have proof whatsoever? No. YOu want to know who will win in a court of law because of this? Manny.
Some info on HGH (from online medical sources): HGH taken alone is actually ineffective in enhancing performance. If this can be done then it would probably dissuade athletes from even thinking about taking HGH.
Bottom line: We have boxing writers right now that are trying to say a one way street on HGH, however, if you look at the medical facts . . its not conclusive and likely much is to be learned and studied about these drugs. However, No amount of drugs will (1) improve your skills and strategy in the ring e.g. if this drug made everybody smarter or gave them a new fountain of skills, everybody will be using it!; (2) the idea of bulking up, c’mon – PacMan is known and recognize for his speed, not his bulk body or armor muscles. If you ask me, bulking up, would actually sacrifice your speed . . so isn’t this an anti-thesis of the Pacquiao fast machine; (3) in this high stakes negotiation where each side attempts to get the better deal i.e. Mayweather’s request was answered half-way by Pacquiao – 3 blood tests (after fight announcement, before 30 days and just after the fight).
I don’t think people have a firm grasp of PED’s by saying, “Manny can take the test whenever he wants and be clean.” If he knows he has to take the test, then of course he’ll be clean! You have to have it random, hell just the threat of being tested at sometime without being tested well keep people honest. But when you know when the test is coming you might as well say, “You’re free to dope from this point until this point, and at this date stop using the drugs because you have a test on this day.”

Firstly, Growth Hormone is nearly impossible to detect without vigorous testing.
Secondly, it does without a doubt increase performance. If it did not, then it would not be banned now would it?
Manny Pacquiao is reacting in a manner which suggests guilt. If he is upset at the accusations of drug use, then the only true way to vindicate himself is through testing.
This court case he is launching is illogical since to prove his innocence he would likely be required to do considerable testing.
Just agree to the tests and then beat Mayweather. If innocent then the victory will be that much sweeter.

Why is it so mind-boggling that someone, who’s in-ring weight has stayed consistent, can just be THAT good? Because we’re pre-programmed to think “cheat” or “monster” when we cant understand something, especially when that “something” is from a third-world country. For those that can’t see that Floyd NEVER wanted to fight Pacquiao and that Pacquiao is “ducking” Floyd OPEN YOUR EYES, you must really be brain dead to not see that, i said it when the fight was announced, “Manny called his bluff and Floyd will do anything to postpone or get out” and i was right.
Ed, the problem with testing after the fight is that all the cheating is done during training camp to boost endurance and recovery. You can stop using PED’s 2 weeks before the fight and still have benefits during the fight.
I can only say for sure is, taking anything from your body specially the blood will makes you different mentally and perhaps physically whatever you say this will give negative effect to the athletes, why don’t you let this big event be happened in the ring with their 100 percent physically and mentally fit without taking anything before the fight, and let the drug test be done right after the fight this is fair and square. Doing the drug test after the fight will definitely know if both fighters are clean from steroids or not without destroying the physical and mental health of both fighters during the fight.

Pacquiao can now accept the terms of the drug testing since the playing field is now even. Manny will be rattled with the drug testing and Floyd will be rattled with the prospect of losing money.
Floyd Sr didnt exactly say that Manny is using drugs. He just wondered about the speculation of Many. Also mentioned how hard it is for urinalysis test to prove it.
If Many sues Floyd I think its yet another thing for Manny to loose.
I’d say focus on the fight and give blood as random as they want since Floyd is subject to it too.

Floyd Sr. might have accused Manny of cheating but I haven’t seen any sources of Floyd Jr. accusing Manny of anything. It looks like he just wants to be 100% sure of a level playing field.
The Pac camp hasn’t offered a viable alternative solution. The just mentioned changing the interval, they haven’t suggested more stringent urine testing just a modification in the testing schedule that would take the randomness right out of it.
I think a good solution would be weekly blood testing leading up to the 2 weeks before the fight. Both fighters are subject to that so whats the issue?
Its easy to cheat the test if you exactly when u are going to be tested! After 15 years i am sure pacman knows how to get around the testing. Thats Why Random testing is the best! Even in the workplace. It makes people stay off drugs, trust me. Mosley cheating azz was on steriods and tested clean for his fights. Prime example of how u can beat the system thats in place now.

If HGH does give unfair advantage to a fighter, blood testing would have been required by now. HGH may add muscle mass, but it is not conclusive that it adds strength. For a boxer, more mass = maxing weight more difficult. Sure, anybody can take HGH for a day or two but what will be the benefit of that?
if this systeme work so well why mosley as been able to use steroide in some of is fight and there test have not been able to find that so pacman is hiding something

PACMAN YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING! Great fighters like you have to be very flexible. Sometimes you have to beat your opponent on his own game , Mayweather and his camps acting like a girls (TALK…TALK…and MORE TALK). Suing them will be a win for you psychologically and that would give you a much better chance of winning the match against Mayweahter. Right now the Mayweather camp is just trying to distruct you so they would have a chance. Currently, I believe the only person can beat you is yourself. You have to maintain what works for you!
