And it's obvious why! I miss this kind of boxers nowadays, but I think it has to do with how the wolrd has changed. ]]> By: TKO http://www.boxingnews24.com/2009/12/legends-of-yesteryear-part-2-of-10-marvin-hagler/#comment-74677 TKO Wed, 02 Dec 2009 11:10:43 +0000 http://www.boxingnews24.com/?p=16907#comment-74677 Hagler still remains my all time favourite fighter.He was a complete fighter who was the best Middleweight ever!!.He could box,slug,punch.He had one of the best chins in boxing,no one knocked him down,forget the Roldan 'Knockdown',that was a slip!!Look at the way he took that Mugabi uppercut in the 6th round of their fight.He didn't even blink,it would've left most Middleweights out cold on the canvas.No one handed it all on a plate to Hagler,unlike a lot of todays fighters who are wrapped up in cotton wool on their way to a title shot.Hagler had to do it the hard way.Going to Philly to fight tough,experienced guys there.He was robbed in the first fight with 'Boogaloo' Watts,shocking home town decision.Then when he finally got his overdue world title shot against Antuofermo the judges robbed him of that victory.No wonder he fought like a man possessed against Minter,no way was he going to leave that in the hands of the judges. Good article Daniel,we'll have to agree to disagree on the fact that Leonard deserved to beat Hagler.It's one of those topics that divides the opinion of Boxing fans everywhere. I was eight years old when he fought Minter at Wembley for the title, and remember then being disgusted by the carry on after the fight, and asking my dad: "Why are the booing him, he's brilliant".
