At the opening bell of the first round Brunson came out aggressively throwing his jab and trying to take control of the fight early. Jones held his ground landing some solid jabs of his own.

Jones had a good defense keeping his hands higher than Brunson and managed to block several shots early on in the fight. Brunson’s primary weapon was his jab and he landed it enough times to clearly take the first two rounds of the fight.

At the start of the third round Carson Jones circled his opponent throwing his jab with well timed accuracy. Brunson found himself with his back to the ropes allowing Jones to land a solid right hand followed by a left hook that dropped Brunson to the canvas.

Brunson made it to his feet to continue but it was all Jones from that point on. Brunson went on the defense but wasn’t able to stop Jones’ steady flurry of punches. The referee didn’t need to see much more before he called a Halt to the fight at 2:39 of the third round.

Carson Jones won the fight by way of a 3rd round TKO. Jones improved his record to 24-7 with 15 KO’s. Suffering his first defeat Tyrone Brunson fell to 21-1-1 with 20 KO’s.
