David Haye will beat both Klitschko brothers
By Eggert Thorarensen: I was watching Vitali Klitschko outbox Kevin Johnson yesterday and i was not impressed just like i haven’t been impressed by any of the four fights Vitali has had since his comeback. And I am sure David Haye can beat Vitali. In fact, I’m even more sure that Haye will beat Vitali than his brother Wladimir.
David Haye is a fast guy and has very good power in both of his hands like all of you know. His flaws is his chin (which I think isn’t as bad as many people think) and he has also has had some stamina problems in the past.
Now here is the thing most people don’t realize about Vitali Klitschko he isn’t as powerful as you think. The only quality boxers he has really knocked out are Herbie Hide and Orlin Norris. Don’t let his knockout radio foul you most of his ko’s were either corner or referee stoppages.
So what i’m saying is Vitali is very good at wearing down his opponent by using his jab and right hand combination. And that is why i think he won’t be able to knock Haye out.
David Haye isn’t a stupid guy. I realized that when i saw his fight with Nikolai Valuev. If he had started bombing Valuev with all he had from the first round he would have been completely finished in around the 5th-7th round just like happened when he fought Carl Thompson. It just wasn’t worth the risk fighting like that because all that mattered was that he would win.
Vitali will have a huge problem trying to catch Haye with a good punch. Haye will jump in with a fast and powerful combination on and on and always jump back out and stay out of the ropes and that will be Vitali’s downfall.
So the next fight for Haye is the WBA number # 1 contender John Ruiz and that fight will definitely end by a spectacular knockout and Ruiz should not be any problem for Haye.
But if Haye can’t beat the Klitschko brothers (I highly doubt that) then nobody can so I think boxing fans should support Haye more because he is the only hope for the heavyweight division.

Haye has about a 1 in 5 chance against Vladimir and a 1 in 10 chance against Vitaly.
He is too small and lacks the necessary tools to get inside and bang with the Klitschkos.
Haye would have been a good contender in the 50′s 60′s 70′s and 80′s. But the K’s are too big and too good for him.
@jake david haye sucks hes not agressive at all he will run lots vs Vitali Klitschk and it will even be more boring
I believe you shouldn’t have said “David Haye will beat both Klitschko brothers”, but that “I think David Haye will beat both Klitschko brothers” and everything would be good.
I actually think the same thing. You’re probably the first guy here who noticed that Klitschko’s ko power is very overestimated, and his “ko ratio” is very misleading. The same goes with his brother btw. They’re both wearing their oponents down, and good part of this stoppages are corner or ref retirements. Neither of them possesses one punch ko power, so the danger of Haye being ko’d by one punch – although it’s still possible – is very slight. If that happens, then it’s rather going to be reminiscent of Haye’s fight with Thompson, then one punch blowout a’la Lewis vs Rahman.
YOU ARE THE FIRST PERSON WHO SEEM TO HAVE NOTICED THAT VITALI IS NOT A KO ARTIST INSPITE OF HIS RECORD. YOU ONLY HAVE TO LOOK AT THE TYPE OF PUNCHES HE HIT LEWIS WITH, AND AT NO TIME DID LEWIS LOOK HURT. HE IS HARD TO HIT BECAUSE HE UTILIZES HIS HEIGHT VERY WELL AND HE IS VERY STRONG.HE GRINDS HIS OPONENTS DOWN.
Somebody has to do better on this site for goodness sake. Vitali isn’t that strong, tell that to Sam Peter never been stopped before, Arreola never stopped, why do I bother, no of cause this 6’7″ 18 stone boxer isn’t strong its just everybody he meets is weak. And that means everybody all 37 of them. Oh sorry not Herbie Hide who had been KO before or Orlin Norris beaten 6 times before and many times since. What are you talking about? Vitali has his faults everybody does but weakness isnt one of them. He is at the top and justifiably so and Haye must face him or history will always doubt him. I believe Vitali knows he can beat Haye he knows how to deal with him and to think otherwise is a dilution its nonsense. Of cause Haye MAY win, but would you bet your life on it if you had to?. No dont tell me.
Haye is a joke. He had a chance to fight either brother but he was too much of a coward… typical brit… So you coward as britts keep talking sit, but untill haye fights either of the klitchko brother’s you should shut the f..k up… Once again you are getting too pumped about your “fighters”… remember prince naseem. Shut the f..k up
this just occurred to you while you watched the fight? no, it didn’t. you heard lennox lewis and bob pappa talking about the difference between knockouts and stoppages.
HAYE WILL BEAT THEM BOTH BUT IT WON’T BE EASY GETTING A GOOD SHOT ON THEIR CHINS!
David Haye’s fast hand speed quick movement and unforgetable power in both hands will be far to much for vitali..Vitali seems to be a 1 paced fighter with low workrate as he showed in the Johnson fight,1 pace all the way through never seemed to step it up and find tht gear to take johnson out,far from spectacular ..overall a bad performance and if i was david haye watchin that id be making room round my waist for vitali’s belt
listen if vitali does that stupid lil dance when he fights haye his own brother willl probably knock him out!!
i whole heartly agree
Anyone with boxing knowledge can see that Haye will bust the Klitchko brothers up. Study some proper heavyweight fight footage-I’m talking Holmes-Norton, Bowe-Holyfield, Tyson-Tucker or Spinks-Holmes man. Speed kills 100%. What was Valuev then? A lightweight? Ain’t seen no heavyweight hurt the oaf like that?
The Vitali-Johnson fight was so boring-it cured Insomnia worldwide.
VITALI KLITSCKHO WILL NOT FIGHT HAYE NEXT AS ITS BEING REPORTED THAT VITALI WILL FIGHT ORLANDER SOLIS OR NIKOLAI VALUEV NEXT, AS FOR WLADIMIR HES FIGHTING CHAMBERS AND THEN IT COULD BE HAYE OR POVETKIN
Yes, it is fair to say that Vlad has lost a little speed and is somewhat very ponderous and predictable ( even more than he was previously ).
He is, however, still very strong and fit – he was still whacking away until the final bell in the 12th ( not bad going for a big guy at his age ). For this reason alone, I think that he may still be very dangerous to Haye. Yet, I think Haye’s own speed and power gives him hope for victory against Vlad. If Haye goes at Vlad and catches him, he can possibly be the first to put the guy down … although it will take Hayes most powerful wallops to do it, I feel. One thing Vlad has that his brother does not, is a chin carved out of granite virtually. Yet, I think Haye’s speed and power is greatly underestimated at heavyweight … I think he is the most dangerous puncher in the division right now by quite some margin – and Vlad will find this out too if they share a ring. However, if Haye has to fight early, he will need to make those shots really count, or else he will be blowing hard come the 7/8th rds – and that could be disasterous for him against a strong Vlad who can press for a 12 full rounds.
I take haye within 6 rounds by Ko … or Vlad by later stoppage.
Great article Haye will wup em both
I think a lot of fans are getting way ahead of themselves when it comes to David Haye.
I agree that he is a good fighter but I really want to see how he does against a decent heavyweight before I give him any chance against the brothers.
Fans need to ask themselves how Haye would have done against past opponents , that the Klitschko’s have beaten very easily.
This writer has the abstruse ability to write psychobabble and then tops this by actually having his aberrant views printed. The mere fact that the writer is not “impressed” with Vitali’s fights since his return to professional boxing does not mean that this was the case for the opponents in the ring with VK in the recent past. These men all took a clear beating at the hands of Vitali Klischko much like the abominable foul mouthed Kevin Johnson with the exception that unlike the others Johnson simply refused to fight like a man. Furthermore all 4 of Vitali’s “victims” were beaten decisively with no doubt in the arena as to who was the winner and who the loser.
Comparing Vitali’s success in the ring with David Haye’s farcical display against Valuev makes more than crystal-clear who is the more capable, the buffoon Haye or a seasoned champion like Vitali Klitschko.
Far from being slow or weak Vitali did what he had to do with the Ko being the only thing lacking to having made the latest fight another total and consummate victory. I dare say one more round and the misfit Johnson would have gone Ko which sadly did not occur.
As for Haye his day will come, Vitali no doubt is wishing this very much and will be up for the chance to silence the Johnson facsimile in a most manner befitting Haye’s manners.
god i am so sick of hearing people say haye run away from nikali.. ive been boxing now for 8 years and there is a reason its called the sweet science!! haye boxed clever avoided the big man and scored points. end of story he rightly won with a clever game plan. for all you people who just want to see a slug fest i suggest you go watch mma. vitali has a granite chin, if lennox cant knock him out i cant really see david doing it but i would love to see it happen. vitali is getting old haye will out box him and as for wald that weak chin will be his downfall as haye has a killer punch..
as for hayes own chin story’s i personally think it will be allot different in the hw division, when he was boxing cruiser he looked ill asiff he had sapped every thing out of him. now hes gone up he looks allot lot better and healthy and he has to be the best in shape heavy weight out there as lets face it!! allot of them are just big fat bums.
David is the only person who has a chance take out the brothers
the Klitchkos have shown Haye is the man now, he is far superior two those two. vitali is the weakest now ( due to age ) he should take Vitali at the end of 2010 & them Vladimir in 2111
and bigbill, Ruiz has a good chin
true article very realistic
Vitalli was..pushing .. his punches in the Johnson fight . Pushing punches have little power behind them no matter how big you are , or how fast you throw them. Vitalli seems to have fought a bout with father time and no one has beat him yet . Father time is a billion and 0 lol. On top of that Vitalli seemed to be either hurt or physically sick( flu ect ) he had a drawn look in his face in the corner .
BTW.. was it my imagination .. or was Johnson saying to his trainer he was thinking of quitting between the 2-3 or 3-4 rounds then decided to go on ? i didnt hear him say quit but he was looking like someone about to take off and then said no .. ok im cool ill be alright
haye has one very important skill.
he can get you worked up to watch his fights.
will he fight ruiz? will he fight valuev?
or will we play some more touch football?
if he is such a powerhouse, ruiz should never see the 6th round, but of course run, dodge and hide can also score a win
haye will beat both brothers all day long
like Haye**
Vitali is a typical European fighter.. He is very strong and durable and always fights on the offensive. The only thing is that he has no movement. Someone like would dance and pick him off at angles he’s not familular with. Especially now how old he is. Until the fighter against Johnson I didn’t think Haye stood a chance, but after watching that I now now that Haye could do a job on him!
And for the people who have said who has Haye fought? He has took every challenge thrown in front of him and isn’t scared to fight anyone. If Setanta didn’t go bust I think he would of fought and beat Wldamir. But why risk your whole career for a £0 payment?.. Boxing = a guys living!
how bad is the heavy weight div, where is the next big thing , im board of this div.
Vitali looked very slow, and could not land more than one or two power right hands during the whole fight!
Vitali was clearly not hitting hard enough as in previous fights, and Johnson’s head movement avoided most of the shots. His occasional timid jab did cut Vitali’s right eye, though…
Now, do you really see Vitali surviving against a much mobile, faster, more aggresive Haye, with real power in his hands?
i think some ppl dont have brain at all, haye was an undisputed Cruiserweight champion and could be an elite champion,if klitschko fight haye the way he did against johnson,i bet his night will definately be short, johnson fought klitschko whole night with one hand/jab.he used his right hand only five times.it was one of the worst boring fight ever.i am not a british, german or black.i luv boxing and i do believe both klitschko cant handle haye speed and power punches.Vitali face was swollen after the fight and johnson face look like winner face.thats not a fight.
no chance, even adam booth said he can see the weakness in vitali’s offense, even though he said because of the way his feet are planted that eacg and every shot he throws that dont look like to have much power in them are actually really really heavy shots!!
haye got no chance of either the K2 brothers!!!
Kevin Johnson could take a punch. That is why he survived against Vitali. If Vitali had landed those punches on Haye, Haye would have hit the deck or at least been badly stunned.
I too wasn’t impressed with Vitali and can see Haye being the first to knock Vitali over… not because of his power but because of his movement and footwork. Vitali looks as though the knee injuries have really effected his style. His balance is awful and he doesn’t punch using his legs anymore, they are all arm punches which is probably why he isn’t knocking people out like he used to. With the balance i saw against Johnson, lack of angles and not cutting off the ring i see Haye turning Vitali all night and knocking him over off balance a couple of times and winning the decision. Vitali isn’t the same fighter he used to be and i think he is now very very beatable. It was surprising as well that Vitali doesn’t seem to know what to do when his opponent doubles up the jab… He just continues to lean backwards but gets hit. Against Haye if Vitali takes a big overhand right whilst in that leaning back position he will go down because he has no balance… Just my opnion mind yu but i’m very rarely wrong
when will people wake up and look at the facts ?
wladimir backed out of the fight, not haye.
haye asked for a delay of 3 weeks and wladimir immediately took another fight, that says, he knew haye was a huge threat and took an easy defence.
vitali wanted a 7 fight rematch clause incase he lost.
when has this ever happened before in boxing ? these things happened because haye IS the ONLY threat to the klitchko’s out there.
he is the only one with the power, ability, speed and movement to beat them, and they know it. hence the changes of opponent at the first opportunity and stupid rematch clauses.
now haye has a belt, he has equal bargaining rights, therefore no stupid clauses, just pure boxing business.
I agree David Haye has a good chance here. A lot of fighters suffer injuries in training and even David Haye did, he just wanted the fight with Vlad postponed but Vlad didn’t want to know. You know he managed to obtain a better contract with Valuev whilst he was negotiating a fight with Vitali. These fights will happen just wait and see.
Yes I think Vitali should go, the way he out-boxed an undefeated and much younger man was sad. And the way he TKO the others was like watching a broken man. And yes Haye will defeat both Klitschkos if only if he can hang around for another ten years while they age.
Another great article!!
I think Vitali should retire. His legs are gone because of injuries. That is why he looks so awkward. Before the injuries he was very agile for his hight.
i love how this artical cricises vital klitschko and then says how good david hayes win vs valuev was it was worst then vitali klitschko vs kevin johnson Vitali will smash david haye he backed twice again vitali knows what to do with david haye
Haye will beat Klitschkos? lol
Why did he “run away”, after signging contracts with both Vitali and Vladimir?
Seems, as he is the same type of guy as Johnson, who had a big mouth, but nothing behind…..
Maybe he is more realistic than many guys
after ruiz i want to see haye vs johnson. how bout one of these two vs b-hop
its impossible to jedge haye at this point…he has not fought a decent heavyweight yet..and doesnt plan to it seems not in the near future…he does seem to tire easily and throws wide punches, slightly off balance. his footwork can be clumsy, as he lunges, others have looked better against barrett and valuev…dont see him beating a k
i really dont think haye has a chance. i do beleive that vitali’s abilities have been declining in his last few fights and is now out of his prime. I see haye fighting him at the end of 2010, 2 fights from now. IF he was to win (I dont think he will) i wont give him that much credit.
i like this good story
haye has yet to fight a contender and doesnt plan to….he could jump in and offer a fight to eddie chambers or any real contender. if he won that he would be a real champion, not a british poser…remember the giant got beat worse by holyfield, holyfield!!! at 48?
what would lead you to think haye could beat any top heavyweight…what has he done? except avoid real contenders…now ruiz, you got to be kidding…then the giant again. he will have been a heavyweight for 4 years by then without fighting anyone as good as vitali’s opp. just this year….
