As good as Khan may get, he will never defeat Prescott

By Dennis Broadhurst: Amir Khan, the World Boxing Association light welterweight champion is going to have to up his game now when it comes to opponents. In terms of skill Khan is a great fighter but it is clear that he is being carefully promoted by Frank Warren. With Freddy Roach in his corner, Khan will have better fitness, speed, power and intelligence than ever before, Roach has solid training camps and Amir is hungry for success so he will train as hard as possible.
Prescott is light years behind Khan in terms of skill, however he can take a good punch and throws bombs which Khan cannot take with his weak chin. Many say Khan has improved defence and has a stronger chin at his new weight however if Prescott challenged Khan then Khan could hardly refuse the fight as it would be his chance to shine and redeem himself.
Precott simply has Khan’s number and with whatever defence Khan may have, he cannot take Prescott’s punches and cannot stop Prescott. If they face each other in the ring again then I predict a Prescott KO win by using his height advantage and his monster power. There is no way Khan can beat this man, sorry Amir.

khan will never ever beat prescott. never in a million years, he shouldnt even be allowed in the ring with him. he should stick to fighters with little power as he shines against them. but prescott is too fast, too powerful, too good.
and the name will never go away for amir khan until he steps back in the ring with him which i really dont want to see…

ricky hatton as i much as i love the guy hes 1 of the lads, fought the best in the world at hes peak and lost but we still love hatton didnt feel like hes let us down, why are we doing this to a 22year old kid???? he flys the british flag hes the superstar to fill rickys boots, but many of brits and shame 2 say it slag him off.. jus remember hes 22 still mayb a kid, let him peak in the next few years and support our british stars and im sure they will not let us down
no matter how many of you say he fights bums.. he will carry on and still make the money he is deserved 2 it… they all do it even ricky hatton in hes early days fought bums(i didnt c any ricky haters at the time) and when ricky peaked at the top hes game he fought the best and the only people he lost 2 were the 2 best p4p fighters in the world
as he is now im sure he will defeat people like john murray ricky hatton and any other british fighter… but i dont he is ready 4 mayweather, pacqiuo,mosley, cotto.. may be another couple of years and a few fights down the line he can be ready
salita no match 4 khan.. easy fight for khan.. since the prescott loss khan has improved 100%.. khan was very careless b4 leaving himself open.. wildcard gym has worked wonders with the kid.. a few more years under roach khan has the chances of being brilliant
this is a terible article !! i dont understand why people are hyping prescott up so much ? as if hes the next boxing superstar ……. well he isnt khan was appauling that night we could all see it coming , prescott looked shocking in his loss hes just a big puncher .. i personally dont think that amir needs to face prescott again to proove anything , whats the point? its a shame we dont big up our fighters over here like we do people like breidis prescot.. all we ever do is knock the likes of ricky hatton amir khan carl froch and even the one and only joe calzaghe
Prescott has Khans number the same way as Hasim Rahman had Lennox Lewis’s. Khan would stay out of trouble and box his ears off next time. In the last 2 performances from Prescott he has looked poor and the general opinion is he just got lucky.
not correct in my opinion. im not a big khan fan because of his arrogant persona but if you get rocked like he did in the first round then its all over who ever you are.
he’ll be the first to admit he boxed the wrong way that night and i’m sure since he learned that the hard way he would do it differently the next time. he should of boxed prescott the way he boxed kotelnik. can’t help thinking prescott is overated for beating khan. he hasn’t done much since.

It happens… roy jones got knocked spark out before… does that mean hes chinny… or that he will never be able to beat anyone who can get a lucky punch?
I have to agree with dennis on this or this fight would have happened again…and Khan wouldnt have stepped to the next weight rather than fight the top ten lightweights

to be completely fair to the british public. Khan has over and over, laid into us about a lot of things.
he’s called us lazy and pathetic more than once.
he’s said we are bitter and jealous of him. and i quote “they’re just bitter, they’re jealous of me because i have a nice house and car and lots of money.”
on another occasion he said “people are bitter because i’ve already made more money than they will make in their entire lives.”
it may well be true, however, you cant go throwing words like that around during a recession when people are suffering. it will make them bitter for sure.
on top of that, he more recently laid into carl froch calling him a “bad man” and saying he’s unprofessional and heading for a big fall because of it. british boxing fans like carl froch. so slagging him off is not going to endear khan to anyone.
thats why i think people hate him anyway. for me he just verbally got ahead of himself. he will get to where he wants, with or without british support. thats all that should matter to him.
its amazing how many british fans prescott has, british fans are traitors khan is flying our flag and our fans ridicule him like theres no tommorow.

Everybodys got Khans number and even though under Roach hes developed a wonderful defencive gaurd you never get through 12 rounds untouched. Kotelnik got a few in there.
He could get rid of his opponants before they get rid of him but even though he has the power hes not using it because of the gaurd he holds so thoroighly

At the end of the day, your article is still crap and I’m not the only who thinks so.
On a serious note, you need to do your homework before you start taking such a strong stance on Prescott, otherwise, expect to get bashed more often by people like me. The truth is, Prescott does not have the fighting resume to back up what you’re saying. Much like Khan, he is still a budding prospect and like many prospects, they can fail just easily as they succeed. Time will tell. There is absolutely no reason to believe that Khan has a zero chance of winning a rematch.
I’m not sure id go as far as saying Prescott has Khan’s number, but he certainly got his attention. Prescott has a huge mental advantage over Khan if there ever was a rematch. If it ever happened I think we will see the Khan what fought Kotelnik, but even more wary if that is possible. I’m sure we’ll see him scared of every punch Prescott throws, but saying that Prescott is very limited, and if Roach produces the right gameplan I think Khan can easily beat him.

What I mean is that Prescott just has the style to beat Khan, his powerfull straights and jabs will wobbly him again and his superior height will allow that to happen

No doubting Khan was shockingly bad that night, but when you say Prescott “has his number” that suggests he out boxed him over the duration of the fight.

i agree that amir must fight prescott again, but not yet, he should have a couple of fights of his own first then avenge his defeat to him. firstly id like to amir fight 1 of the title holders at light welter, hopefully miadana, that wud be a cracking fight, and victory wud propel him to a rematch with prescott, who wins that one i dont know
