Antonio Margarito: When Will The Mexican Warrior Return?

By Peter Wells: After being banned from fighting in the US at the beginning of the year Antonio Margarito has not fought even outside of America, and at the moment there is no sign of him coming back. Well if he is allowed to fight in America again, I’m sure we’ll see him again next year, but not all States will be so kind, and may not give him his licence to fight in their State, especially Los Angeles.
Margarito was linked to a fight in Mexico with Carlos Baldomir for last July, but nothing went ahead, and we still wait to see when Antonio will return, and where he will be allowed to fight. If he does return next year, the most likely fights will be against less tough opponents like Baldomir, but a rematch against Miguel Cotto is still possible, and then we can see who the real warrior is.
I’m sure most States will let him fight there again, for his exciting style, and a second bout with Cotto would sell big time, so expect to see him back mid next year, whether you like it or not, any fight with him in it is going to be a stormer.

I agree with Diesel and everyone else that says that no one made a big deal when Mosely got caught with steroids. It seems to me that Mosely was the one cheating in their fight on Jan. It’s hard for me to believe that a boxer (Margarito) who had never been KO’D in his career, would get KO’D by a 37 yr. old fighter (Mosely) who couldn’t beat, nonetheless, KO Cotto.
Mosely dodge and dodge Margarito when he (Mosley) was in his prime, but yet decides to fight Margarito at age 37. HHMMMM!!!! Also it’s kind of fishy because Mosely is promoted by De La Hoya another guy that Margarito was calling out for years and was ducking him. So maybe just maybe everything was planned by the new Mafia in boxing (De La Hoya). Also don’t tell me that Margarito got KO’D because he didn’t have his “illegal handwraps”. I didn’t know that if he didn’t use “illegal handwraps” his chin got weaker. C’MON U MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Laslty, is in it wierd that the same guy who detected Trinidads’ “illegal handwraps” in Trinidad vs Hopkins(another De La Hoya fighter), detected Margaritos. Wow I guess every fighter this trainer gets just has “BAD LUCK” in having to fighters want to cheat against his, or should I say “GOOD LUCK” that this trainer always seems to find cheaters. Another HHMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last thing when not if Margarito comes back he will for sure KO Cotto again and the other steroid freak Pacquiao!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This I know for a fact. A mad and motivated Margarito is a “VERY SCARY MARGARITO” so all you welterweights enjoy this year cause next year is Margaritos.
I was very surprised by Margaritos performance against Mosely, he clearly was affected by the scandal before the fight.Mosely was definitely on something for that fight, he most certainly was not clean.He could not even speak properly after the fight. I hope Margarito gets roided up and beats the monkey mosely down.

The title of this article is a little disappointing calling this guy a mexican warrior after what he was caught doing. The title should be will Antonio Resto return.
Im a very big fan of margarito but i also hate him because he always allows arum to throw him out into the wolves margarito had no training when he fought with mosley he probably only had about a 2o3 weeks maybe not even that
I heard that Margarito will be back for about March 2010 against either Paul Williams 2 or Andre Berto. There will also be a Margarito vs. Cotto 2 fight in 2010. This will be BIG. Margarito will knock out Cotto on the 1st round this time! He has been training since he got suspended, so be prepared for a Stronger Fighter than Ever!

No argument from me Ron, and certainly no excuses for Margarito.
Distraction is the excuse to Margarito’s loss to Mosley. If he knew he was going to be attacked for wearing loaded gloves, then he shoulve proved that loaded gloves or not, he was still going to win. It should have not been a distraction. It should have been a motivation to win. instead he let Mosley take his head off. Which made the world really think he’s nothing without plaster in his hands.
I was always a big Margarito fan. What he lacked in talent he made up for in will, he was like a welterweight Marciano.
His training routine would kill most atheletes, it was commmon for him to throw close to 100 punches a round & I don’t even have to mention that chin. He was feared, avoided & I picked him over Cotto.

As a life long boxing fan it is a let down anytime there is evidence of cheating. And loaded gloves are SERIOUS cheating.
I’m always willing to give a man a second chance, I would like to see him be allowed to fight.

However, I do think he faces a very long, steep climb to his former position.
He’s paying a big price for the wrong doing. Before he was avoided, now he may simply be ignored.
Cotto vs margarito 2- will determine if he is the boxer he was out to be!!
The only way he will prove he was good without cheating is to fight cotto, and to win the same way he did befor!!!
Let’s be honest Margarito was overrated and now it looks like he was cheating to boot so having him back in the sport won’t make bit of difference to me.
It was strange to see Margarito get totally distroyed by Mosley. Margarito looked as if he didnt throw with alot of force in fights. His shots didnt look like snaped shots and even looked like slow shots and weak. Thaaaam! are his hands that heavy? How did his shots have so much effect on fighters? I dont kinow. All i know is that the shots had 0 effect on Mosley. The only fight he was caught with the plaster on. Mosley had no respect for his power. Mostly all other fighters that fought margarito looked like they were getting damaged by every punch Margarito threw. Isnt that strange?

well,i personally feel desapointing, but who really knows the truth?? who? i hear yes he is been cheating for 20 years, or ten or what ever, o years, but never been catch, just a lie, it was wrong and it was only on mosley’s fight when that hapened, yes just that, every fight is people who sees and checks the wraping, soo this in my opinion never hapened before, now that margarito knows, well what if the trainer did it , just him margarito didnt know anything ,there is a space for doubt, now a fight includes many aspects. heart, tactical, inteligence, strenght, many others, and chin, or is it also that he had a chin wraped?????, he is as great as any other top 3 figthers in the world, he had the bad luck to be involved in this scandal, but, he can proved everybody, coming back and be ckeck by all the people involved in that fight, and then proved if he can or not. he is a true warrior, i would personally love to see him vs paquiao.
i like him being a tough underrated boxer. nevertheless, he’s been in boxing long enough not to be aware of such substances. i doubt that he is totally innocent on this one.
for me margarito is one of the best fighters in boxing and I hope to see it again.I now there are many people who said than they don’t wanna see it to fight but I think they will be the firts ones to watch the fight just to see margarito get hurt and make fun of him saying(WITH OUT HAND WRAPS MARGARITO DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO FIGHT, PEOPLE IS WAITING FOR YOU MARGARITO

well it seemed that no one made a big deal when mosley was caught cheating, but here is margarito caught cheating and the whole world is ready to turn there back on him. if mosley can get over it and people can get over mosley cheating then i really dont see why he should not be allowed to come back. i think he should, he was an exciting fighter with a lot of heart. wether he did or didnt is an answer he and his team know. he’ll come back and he better redeem himself i personally was a fan and hope he comes back.
I honestly believe that if any boxer is caught cheating, whether this is drugs or in Margarito’s case, illegal hand wraps, that boxer should not be allowed to fight for a title again. This includes World titles, European Titles, etc.
I think banning them completely is harsh, especially if the boxer in question was unaware of what was going on. But, taking away there option for competing for Titles seems quite fair. It allows them to continue to earn a living, but limits there opportunities at world level.
A good comparison for this is how drug cheats are handled in athletics. If you are found using an illegal substance, you are banned for a number of years, never allowed to compete in the Olympics again, and invites to events become limited.
I thing he should come back as soon as he could to any state to any city because there’s explainations to all this drama just Check his gloves after every fight done story good deals for everyone.

i cant wait for his return for one main reason, a rematch with cotto, to see who the best fighter really is
