Many British journalists are like this over here which is what makes them good. Who would have ever got Nixon to admit he was part of the Watergate scandal if it was not that little english bloke called David Frost. Whilst many chat show hosts cosy up to celebrities in America, we still never get the answers that everyone wants to know and most of the questions are vetted. Dermot did quite a good job I think and remained fairly composed but I bet his bum hole was squeeking a little bit when Tysin said your “irritating me”. I loved watching Tyson in his prime and actually out of it too because you never knew what was going to happen but I was shocked at the loss of his daughter and I wondered whether he would lose the plot altogether. I saw Tyson in the film The Hangover recently and thought he was hilarious and showed a different side to him. I just hope old Don does not start using him as a freak show on this tour as I probably think he was used as this in his boxing career to a certain extent.

Tyson was the greatest people should let him be and admire what a quality figher he was.
As for Dons comment above about Lewis, jesus what a joke. Lewis would have been knock out in secs from an on form tyson!!

I’m british and I was giggling all the way through scott’s article. I thought it was very funny.

Anybody in the UK knows that Dermot Murnaghan is very abrasive and blunt. and he’s typical of a UK TV interviewer. They do push buttons and don’t back off but in this case it would seem Dermot didn’t do his homework and just threw the juicy stuff at Tyson. That being said to they do things different in the states? Do they cosy up to their subjects.

What you Americans need to understand is Tyson is seen as an oddity in the UK. No matter how much Tyson may have changed personally he will always be remembered for the stuff Dermot brought up in the interview. It wouldn’t be different with any other UK interviewer.
