Kessler was embarrasing. He looked slow and like he was mentally gone before entering he ring. He either had a off night or has not recovered mentally after his first loss.

Great article, i like many others didn’t see ward winning, but Andre proved me wrong emphatically. It really was a quality performace. I was surprised by how little kessler threw, but I guess he didn’t bother because he couldn’t hit him when he tried! I think the first couple of “headbutts” were accidental but ward was already dominating, he imosed himself from the first bell

yep. I got this one wrong too, and have no problem with it. Why should I? I don’t get so excited about this national/racial so I simply wish the best win. As long as it’s a good convicing win I’m fine with pretty much any of the 6 guys to win it. My personal favourite is Abraham btw, who was my fav in the middleweight as well, for a very long time (since his 10-th fight!) and I don’t know how many times I was trying to get some credit for this guy (now he simply can’t be denied)…. But this is a very tight competition here. Froch was the one for now who didn’t win convincingly but I hope his next fight will end in convicing fashion. For now I believe favourite guys are Ward and Abraham (Arthur as the only one finished fight with a ko).

wards victory not too surprising. early on apparent ward had too much. so why the holding and head work? kessler doesnt fight inside and was going for every feint. look for ward and abraham to finish it.

Calzaghes win still looks good to me… shame Ward wasn’t around then to test Joe.

Was a bit shocked not to see Kessler let his hands go a bit more. Ward looked good though, if a little unnecessarily dirty towards the end. Would love to see him give that oaf Froch a good hiding. Also interesting to see what would happen between him and Abraham… Strangely enough, one of the two to lose to both of these – Dirrell and Taylor probably have the best chance of beating Ward!

Super 6 still looking good! Still anyones really (except Taylors!)

very impressed by ward imposed his fightplsn right from the first bell,nevr letting kessler establish any rhythm.the ref should have docked ward a point for the holding and the butting but the fact that he did not was not wards problem,he boxed right on the borderline as regards the rules,but he also won 9 rds of 10 with talent and speed and lateral movement.expect kessler to look much better against froch win or lose.

I had Kessler up by a round, but I must admitt i was very……….very………drunk

Headbutts highlight of the fight.

And Ward had Jesus with him so Kessler didnt have a chance

The myth of kessler is exposed. why he had such a fearsome reputation when he only fought bums in denmark is beyond me.

Fair play to Ward. No matter how the victory came about a ‘W’ is a ‘W’. I really like Kessler and think he is a quality boxer but he was beat regardless of any underhand tactics by Ward. There will always be underhand stuff in any sport (Just look at Thiery Henry’s handball against Ireland) but that is what the ref is meant to stop and punish. So if you get away with it, fair play.

I think most Kessler fans have commented on this fight already and most of them have congratulated Ward on his performance.

It seems most people predicted this one wrong. I know im a little suprised at how little affect Kessler had on Ward. I dont care about the headbuts and i dont care about the home town refferee. Ward was quite clearly the better fighter in the ring on the night.

Ive understemated both of these young American boxers and Abrahams and im just grateful this tournement has been put on for us boxing fans.
