Pacquiao plans to sing after the Cotto fight

By Manuel Perez: I thought I’d seen everything, but I guess not. Manny Pacquiao plans on singing after Saturday night’s fight with World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. Will they cart Pacquiao out there for him to sing all busted and broken up like that?
Pacquiao is taking on one of the best fighters on the planet by moving up in weight to fight Cotto. I commend Pacquiao for taking this risk, but I hate it that the fight will take place at a 145 pound catch weight. Cotto already looks weak and weight drained already.
Cotto even looked like that last week in the Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 special. I hope this weight draining catch weight isn’t getting the better of Cotto. We already saw it reduce the great Oscar De La Hoya to a near weakling in his fight with Pacquiao. By the time the emaciated De La Hoya entered the ring he would have been in trouble against almost any fighter. Pacquiao won and got way too much credit for the win. Next up, Pacquiao defeated Ricky Hatton, who also had to take off massive amounts of weight to trim down for their fight.
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is bragging about Pacquiao long and hard. No matter what it is, Roach thinks Pacquiao is great. The latest stuff Roach is dishing out is he’s saying that Pacquiao is in the best shape of his life. I don’t know why a 30-year-old Pacquiao would suddenly be in the best shape of his life at this point. You would think that he was in better shape in his 20s.
I mean, that makes sense to me. Roach already has predicted that Pacquiao will win by a 1st round knockout. He also thinks that Cotto isn’t the same fighter he was before his 11th round knockout by Antonio Margarito last year. That leaves the question: Why if Roach thinks that Cotto isn’t the same, why is Pacquiao fighting him then?
If you think someone isn’t the same fighter, why are you having your fighter fight him then? God, I love how Roach exposes himself. Why not fight Shane Mosley or Paul Williams. Or why not fight Juan Manuel Marquez? I know why. Pacquiao would lose to all of them and he took what they consider to be a safer fight. I bet they’re hoping that Cotto isn’t the same fighter. Don’t know why they’re talking about it. The last thing Roach should be talking about is that Cotto isn’t the same fighter.
All that does is make people wonder why Pacquiao is fighting him in the first place. Cotto didn’t go chasing Pacquiao down for this fight. It’s Cotto who has the WBO title, and it’s Pacquiao who has a hard on to win a 7th world title. It doesn’t matter what Roach thinks. Cotto is still fighting more than well enough to beat up Pacquiao without any problems and ruin his night of singing. Pacquiao needs to practice up on some sad songs that he can sing for his fans afterwards.

I bet Manny sang just fine with all the teeth he lost and whooping he took. My guess the cart that took Manny on the stage was actually 2, I’d also guess they were size 8-9.

Pacman didnt ask to sing. Someone asked him to sing for an audience and he accepted it. Why is Perez so much concerned about this?

Mayweather and Cotto, and even Mosley, are not better fighters than Pacman. They’re just way too big for him. Bring them all down to 145 or maybe at Pacman’s natural weight and you will see that those guys are not as good as they are. This is why pacman is respected by many, he can fight at higher weights which is not “technically” designed for his body and WIN.
PS…I wonder if Pacquiao knows that he’s not a very good singer…I wonder what Simon Cowell would have to say about this one.
Team J&J – “you can never beat anybody better than you” is that so…are you trying to tell me that the reason Mike Tyson loss to Buster Douglas was because he wasn’t as good as Buster Douglas…they’re called upsets, look into them. Secondly, who’s to say that Cotto is “better” than Pacquiao? That’s your opinion, but let’s be honest that Marquez, Morales, and Barrera were all higher on the P4P list than Cotto. The only advantage Cotto has is size and strength. Not saying it’s a walk in the park for Pac, but it ain’t a walk in the park for Cotto either. Pac in ten!

Anyone who do not appreciate what Manny has done for the sport of boxing is not a true fan of the sport. How can you not love his guts? I mean look who he is fighting. Cotto is the current champion and we all know how good Cotto is. Come on Mr. Perez. I think you need a little dose of love from your girfriend or boyfriend to coll down. First of all, The fact that cotto is from puerto rico and pac from phillipines that already give cotto 70% os winning and pac 30%. Second, i never say that mosley is as fast as pac, pac is faster but that does not mean he is better. Of course pac is not in the same level of mosley, Mosley level is way higher than pac. After saturday pac is goin back to 140, he will never be good enough to beat a cooto, a mosley or a mayweather. you just cannot beat somebody better than you, period

If pacquiao win the fight i give him credit and respect him, this is business. But before the fight how im gonna pick pac over cotto? just how? Just by looking on how they fight i have to pick cotto all the way, i dont see how can pac beat cotto, cotto is a real fighter who really know to beat the other guy and not by luck. Is it true that Cotto trained himself? If it is, he is a really great fighter, but sometimes another set of eyes (experience trainer) would make it to perfection.
I saw a similarity between Pac and Mag. In the fight with Mag. Cotto faced an IMMUTE TO PAIN fighter. This time, Cotto will face a KILLING MACHINE. I douted that PAC will even breath hard after 12 rounds (if it last that long). It’s going to be really hard for Cotto to catch Pac with a clean punch.

COTTO WILL WIN THIS FIGHT, I LIKE PACMAN AND I RESPECT HIM, IS GOING TO BE A TOUGH FIGHT, BUT COTTO WILL BE THE WINNER. Sorry to spoil your party Perez, but I think you’ve had too may shots of tequila if you think for one minute that Cotto will win this fight. Cotto has looked like crap during the filming of 24/7. Manny is a little fighting machine who is going to chew Cotto up and spit him out after which he will sing a victory song. That’s not a prediction; it’s a reality.
