By Liam Santiago: Floyd Mayweather Snr has hinted again that he believes that World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao might be using steroids. Speaking to the New York Post, Mayweather stated that given the circumstances he would not like his son to fight Pacquiao. He said, ”I have my own personal reasons. I don’t think little Floyd should fight Pacquiao. I’ll just say that. I’ll let you figure it out.”. Mayweather had previously stated that he thought Pac-Man was using steroids.
Personally, I still see Miguel Cotto as the WBO welterweight champion. Why? Because he was permitted from fighting at his welterweight limit. Also, since when did the challenger demand what weight the champion comes in at? I strongly believe that, even though Cotto was shot, he would still knock out Pacquiao at 147. Is no one noticing a trend here? Every opponent of Pacquiao comes in weight drained.
However, Mayweather will not stand for any of that bol*ocks. He fights at 147 and that is what he will fight Pacquiao at. When he weighed in at 147 to fight Marquez, that was not to give him an advantage over Marquez. It was to send a messege to Pacquiao and Bob Arum that he will not be standing for any crazy weight demands. If only De La Hoya and Cotto would stand up to Pac Man like Mayweather.
I am receiving many comments regarding why I have not quit. This is why. Cotto was beaten by weight demands, not Pacquiao, so in my eyes, Pacquiao never beat him.

If Pacquiao isn’t using any type of steroids why did he refuse Mayweather’s olympic drug test? If he has nothing to hide he would have taken it, no questions asked whether it was required or not. Has anyone heard about the two emails sent to Floyd’s camp from Pacman’s camp? What does Pacman has to loose by taking a drug test? To all the people saying Pac is on roids just cause he refuses the test, its called pride, drug testing demoralizes a man. Just like in school sports, you dont want the test even though your clean and know it, its the thought of having accusations against you for using drugs when you clearly weren’t and you yourself knew it. Mayweather Sr. is scared because he is about to lose again to Pacquiao. He looks nothing like a person who uses steroids or HGH, he has a tiny upper body and thick legs, opposite of a steroid user. While it is true that PBF’s demands are insulting to Manny, all of you know that if Manny were truly clean of PEDs, he would’ve sucked it up and taken the test. Its just a needle for Pete’s sake. Mayweather Jr just wants to “level the playing field”. Why is he saying this all of a sudden. Why does he need to level the playing field for? Why now all of a sudden? And you are jumping right into Mayweather’s trap also.
It’s not the tests, it’s the insult that goes with it. Understandably, many will jump through hoops for $40M dollars, even kiss Mayweather’s ass literally, if they have to. But there is also such a thing as pride. Implying someone is not being fair is an insult, having it aired on media increases the insult a hundred fold. Maybe Americans have a different way of viewing these things. But Manny being Pinoy, certainly thinks this way. To Pilipinos, “Money is just money, you can earn that, and you cannot take that with you after you die.” But a man’s reputation lasts even after he is gone.
And while Mayweather Jr. may not have said directly that Manny is on steroids or other performance enhancing drugs, the way he and his father have acted have created this impression in the minds of the boxing fans and the public. Even some blog writers are now writing as if Manny’s refusal to take the test is a confirmation of his guilt.
Assuming that Manny agrees to fight Floyd Jr, takes the test as Floyd demand, and (God forbid) Manny loses? Will Mayweather stop his accusations? I think not. Mayweather will just go on and on about how he has proven to the world that Manny is nothing without his “supplements”, how he is smarter than ODLH, Hatton and Cotto for not insisting on more stringent drug tests for Manny, how he has exposed Manny as a weak fighter. I hope the defamation suit prospers so we can see what Mayweather has to say about his insinuations.
If Schaeffer and his people want to impose the USADA standards for the “sake of boxing” and to “level the playing field”, why did he refuse when Judah asked Mosley the same conditions? Is it just coincidence that soon after Mayweather Sr. started making those insinuations in public, Mayweather Jr. and Golden Boy made these demands?
If they feel that Manny Pacquiao is not playing fair, and they want to preserve the integrity of the sport, the proper thing to do is have Manny Pacquiao’s license revoked by the proper boxing commission. Petition the proper agencies and have this supposed “cheater” banned from the sport forever. Then we will see who is being honest and fair.

I know what you are talkin about but at the same time, its a proven fact how hard it is to keep or increase power in hign weight classes. Look at Floyd; he had so much power from the 120’s till 135 and not as much at 147 and manny others like hopkins, toney, castillo, Andre Ward etc. with a lot of training you can mentain the speed but power is a whole different thing.

Think about the equation a little bit. Being a boxer though not professional, 2lbs makes a huge difference especially if you’re barely making 147 in itself. By the way the person who ask cotto to come to 145 is Freddy Roach who knows that 2lbs makes a difference otherwise he wouldn’t ask fighters to come down; think about it. I think if you have a welterweight belt then you should fight at that weight 147 or chuck the belt up and fight at 140 where the champion will crush pacquiao. Pacquiao initially asked for 142, but this is too much for Cotto so both parties agreed to 145 instead.

To be frank, when Roach said Manny doesn’t even know what steroids are…he is telling the truth. One thing you need to consider…in America, even the poorest get proper nutrition. In third-world countries, unless they have money (that is why third world athletes have a harder time competing) they are typically undernourished. Manny Pacquaio at 5″6 1/2 is a natural Welterwight by height…and weight…severely undernourished as a light-flyweight all the way up to Featherweight.

Yes we made Cotto agree to the 145lbs and also after the weigh-in was allowed only to put on 2 pounds so he can be weight drained the night of the fight weighing only 147lbs. We could’nt have be the real Cotto so Manny can look like the man to give Many the edge. We could’nt have Cotto put on his usual weight on after the official weigh because he would beat Manny because he would be at a 100%. We will try to do the same with Maywheather so we can have him on fumes also so he would’nt have the energy to implement his speed and defense so Manny can get to him the way we diblitated Cotto’s power and resistance so he’ll break down in the later rounds from running on fumes.
