By Kevin Park: You know what’s the most annoying thing about World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquaio? His one-sided biased fan base. I hate many of Pacquiao’s fans for their arrogance and ignorance, seriously. Many of the anti-Mayweather fans who claim he is over-rated, the majority are annoying Pacman fans. There is an excuse for every fight and we all know that. Whether it be the weight, the trainer, the ring, etc, etc.
Whether a knock out or a decision, winning is winning. And even though Pacquaio may have more wins, he also has 3 loses. Pacquiao hasn’t lost in 11 fights, well, Floyd hasn’t’ lost in 40 fights. And as for opponents they have both faced, they are all credible. So please you annoying Pacman fans, please open your eyes for just a minute and see that Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers and he does pose a HUGE threat to Manny Pacquaio. We all know it, accept it, but dont hide from it

A defensive fighter can never be an all time great! You can not be an all time great by not losing or not getting hit.
All the greats have good knock out-to-fight ratios.
Offense is always the determining factor. How you defeat and put away opponents defines you as a fighter.
Record means nothing if you did not fight the top five in your division (or even higher as in the case for Pacman)
That’s why Floyd doesn’t get too much credit. He is a circus act! Just like Chavez Jr., no defeats, but has more fights than Floyd. If we use Floyd’s logic, then Chavez Jr, should be the pound for pound #1. That’s where his argument breaks down.

The belief that Mayweather poses the biggest threat to Manny Pacquiao is old news. This can surely come from those who belong to the league of scribes who were generally good at predicting the outcome of fights until they came upon the enigma called Pacman. And from then on, fight after fight, they ended up making the wrong predictions when it comes to a Pacman fight. For a true Pacman fan, there is no better satisfaction than seeing how so-called boxing experts get it WRONG whenever they pick against Pacman in a fight. This only shows how incredibly good Pacman is. Actually, I cannot blame these guys because it makes sense that non-believers, and neutrals alike would always get it wrong mainly due to the incredible odds Pacman faces ever since he started to move up in weight. While we’ve heard of great boxers testing the water first whenever they move up from their natural weight by facing less dangerous opponents. Pacman has this strange habit of picking the very best and the most dangerous fighter in his quest up the weight ladder. But even more amazing is how he managed to destroy each opponent, completely dominating them, with a couple even ending in some of the most beautiful knock-out we’ve ever seen. To take everything in perspective, you just name the 5 best and most exciting bouts in the last 2 years and many will agree that at least three or four belongs to the Pacman. This fact is supported by the awards accorded to the guy including the P4P top rank, best fighter of the year (06’ & 08’), not to mention being the fighter with the biggest if not one of the biggest pay-per-view purse over the last 2 years. All this coming from a guy who started fighting professionally at a mere weight of 106 lbs! But incredible as it may seem, even more mind-blowing is how many so-called ‘boxing experts’ will continue to get it wrong once Pacman gets in the ring again and they start looking at logics and math. They will never get it right with Pacman, because this is how it’s supposed to be when you’re an ENIGMA. At least I will once again have the satisfaction of seeing those jaws dropping once the gloves start booming. PEACE!
yes floyd is the biggest threat to pac man and his p4p title but pac man is also floyd’s biggest obstacle in regaining that possition! the simple “unbiased” truth is that these two fighters are currently the two best boxers in the world and the only way to find out who is the greatest is to have them show us…. you could go back and forth with great arguments for each for a very long time but the truth is i cant decide who is the best and i’m dam sure that nobody else knows either

What would you expect! pacquiao received only an elementary school education. With no boxing background, a run away boy, with no place to sleep just a card board in the side walk. During press con after d fight w/ cotto he said he’s just an ordinary guy a down to earth man. Not unlike Floyd Mayweather, his father, uncles and ect. r all boxers not just boxers but with championship titles. He wz trained since he wz a child thats the reason why “The way he moves is so graceful, the way he punches is so accurate” if you watch pacquiaos early fights he’s not that good but he makes his way to be one of the greatest fighter in boxing. Both are great fighters.
Mayeather faces the biggest threat to pacman in the sense that he can possibly (though not likely) avoid getting hit while at the same time landing his own shots. But keep in mind that these will not be shots that will be able to hurt Pacquiao. Pacman wil have to be COMPLETELY off his game to lose to Floyd (unable to walk Floyd down and land his shots). This is extremely unlikely. Miguel tried running too and how much better is Floyd than Cotto?? Mayweather is an extremely talented boxer, but you are dreaming if you think he is capable of hurting Pac. Pac on the other hand, is much more of a threat to put Mayweather’s lights out with his knockout power in both hands, as well as his ability to land the majority of the heavier shots if it goes the distance and goes to the scorecards….if it is a close battle that goes to the scorecards, the heavier shots landed will go in favor of Pacqiuiao no doubt, as well as his attacking style versus floyd’s running style. Pac wins in either scenario. You are as biased as these Pacmaniacs if you can’t foresee what I just described.

If I were manny I would challenge Floyd to the following. Winner takes the entire purse PPV etc. It’s a fight until someone quits no scorecard no round limits.
Then we will see just how legit Floyd is.
Manny we now know can take a legit welter punch without even wobbling let alone goin down.
We now know he can knock out a legit welter.
He can now box as well as brawl.
Floyd has never really been hit because of his great defense so we don’t know how his chin will hold up, he was wobbled by Hatton on a shot that didn’t really connect. He avoided mosley, cotto, margarito so he hasn’t tasted real power. You can be sure he will catch at least a few good hits out of Manny’s flurries because Manny will walk through floyd’s pitter patter shots to test him.
I for one can’t wait for the fight, but it’s hard to imagine floyd fighting a legitmate threat.

Im not a Pac or Mayweather fan, but the truth is that if you are not a boxing fan you’re really not going to like or appreciate Pbf for what he is, a Good Boxer, Boring Boxer, but good, the average fan just wants thier money’s worth, and the want to see someone get K.O.’d, so that’s why most of them like Pac, the guy is exciting. But really, not to burst everyone’s bubble tjis is gooing to be a slow, boring, one sided fight weather u like it or not, wish it could be diffrent but he is facing Pbf, and he never makes an exciting fight.

They both are great fighters. While boring as hell you cannot take away that Mayweather is a great boxer. He’s easy to hate but has skills. While not a Manny fan I became one when he took Cotto out. Gotta respect his style of power, speed, and tenacity. He’s so much more fun and easier to like.

THis author don’t know juck. You could say the same thing about Mayweahter fans buddy. It goes both ways. At the end of the day, with these two fighters, it comes down to personal preference. Do you prefer Floyd’s second-to-none boxing ability, or do you prefer Manny’s two fisted onslaught of brutal offense? I personally, prefer Manny cause I feel like he’s a throwback to the days when there was no 12 round limit and fighters fought until someone got knocked out. And that’s why I like him, cause he wants to knock your a$$ out. DOn’t get me wrong. Floyd is absolutely the best boxer. Iwas in awe with the way he dismantled Diego Corrales. The thing is, when I watch a fight, I wanna see a fight. Especially if I gotta pay $60 and that’s without the bonus of a decent undercard. Floyd to me is like a monk, who will just defuse you, where as Manny is a warrior who will try and destroy you. Both methods have worked well for both fighters. Can’t wait to see them in the ring together. Now that’s a FLoyd fight that’ll be worth the money.
