The only reason I believe Pac can know Mayweather out is because I believe Pac only needs one clean shot to take Mayweather down. That’s why the first IF is there. If Hatton can land on Mayweather, I am pretty convinced that Pac can too. Especially with the volume of punches, in different angles, he throws. But then again, I could be wrong.

I see this fight going two ways…neither of which end in knock out. One is…Mayweather wins via unanimous decision. He spends most of his time on the defensive, and tries to avoid exchanging with Pac as much as possible, pot shotting here and there and winning rounds but not actually hurting him…boring. Or two…Pacquiao wins rounds because he’s the agressor and the judges give him the rounds based on the fact that he’s busier. I don’t think he can land consistently enough to hurt Floyd to put him in danger of getting KO’d…as much as I’d like to see him punch Floyd in the mouth and shut him up for good.

I actually think that Mayweather has got a lot to bring to the table. I think he will challenge Pacquiao’s patience and intelligence in the ring.

Sometimes I doubt catchweights because normal (warrior-like) logic will suggest to us that they should just fight the way they are. But if we think about it really how can we get (just an example and “ifs” included) a great junior welter to fight a great light heavy without a catchweight? It’s either we don’t get to see it at all or they really have to meet in the middle. As a boxing fan I would rather see them do the catch weight just to see the fight. I’m not sure if you’re not happy with Pacquiao because of the catch weight but remember he had to gain weight himself. In comparison to Mayweather’s previous fight, he made the other guy go up in weight as a catch weight and didn’t even honor it. That is the sort of catch weight issue that I don’t want to see happening. I actually think that if a boxer can do catch weights and win, then it shows that they are freak of natures because they can prove mother nature wrong. And besides, I don’t think any of those boxers who fought on a catch weight bout would think that they would lose so if they they think they can win, we all should leave it at that. Cotto didn’t make any excuses for his loss so nobody should use it for him as it will disgrace him.

I don’t think Cotto could have done much difference if he pressured more. That’s why Manny did the rope a dope (which scared the crap out of me watching) to show Cotto, that he can take his shots and combinations, and in return dish some combinations that Cotto has never seen.
And that’s also why most people think that Mayweather and Marquez has the best chances of winning against Pacquaio because they are counter-punchers.

Teo, if only cotto pressured pacquiao more, he definitley would of hurt him and wore him down..but he couldn’t maintain the pressure…floyd would systematically break pacquiaio down with his superb defense and his potshots then eventually ko pacquiao…remember teo, that cotto is not in the same level as mayweather..

As I read most of the replies, I wonder are these boxing fans or followers. I’ve been personally invoved in the sport for over twenty years. My opinion has no more value than the next but I would like to piont out a few points about the sport I love and made money with. I am not crazy about Mayweather but you have to repect what he brings to the table. Very very skillful, fast and highly intelligent in the ring. His defense is superb. I enjoy watching Manny as well, and I wonder how will Manny holdup when he faces someone who is very fast and skillfully as well. Coach Roach understands what Manny would be up against that’s why the catch weight BS always comes to play. Bottom line, If you want to be the man fight at welterweight and challenged. It wouldn’t be fair to all the greats in the past by comoaring the careers when catch weight garbage was not a part of their vocabulary.
