PPV fights used to feature two or three world championship fights plus the under card would be made up of contenders facing each other. Sadly the practice of giving the viewers their moneys worth and in some cases more than their moneys worth is a thing of the past. The result is the promoters greed has increased and the fight game has decreased, this is how it is in the States, I don’t know about the rest of the world. I will be buying this fight , even though I hate to give arum any of my money.

I agree with you man. i was so pumped to see this fight then i saw how much it was. wayyy to much money for me. i mean, i already pay for HBO just 2 watch the fights, i cant pay even more money to watch this fight. i think this is the reason boxing is declining. and that there are too many champions

One question for the British people. If you get these fights for free from Setanta, how come I read that Mayweather/Hatton did a bunch of “buys” in the UK? Are other fights free but Hatton’s are not?

hell yeah! this fight is worth $54.99! if you think this is only worth $18, then that would make mayweather-marquez like $1.50. this pac-cotto fight is just more interesting and entertaining to watch. and i bet you’ll see lots of celebrities/famous people there. if you’re trying to save money, just go to a sports bar. you just have to pay for 2 beers and you’re covered!

I’m going to a sports bar to see the fight for about 10-15 bucks. Of course the drinks are more than staying at home, but a bigger party than at home(or at least at mine.) But, if people can have a hell of a lot of fun and entertainment at home, then do it. A lot of people have the friends and family to make the $54.99 seem like pennies with the party they have going on.
Also, you UK people seem to have some bitterness toward us, even though it is free. Have a pint! and relax!
