(and i'm not dissing haye -i like him) but middles james toney, and roy jones did it at heavy -(yes, both against Ruiz. And Haye is better than Ruiz, but hopkins is cut from the same mold as those two -great boxers with underestimated power, and bigger frames that let them carry more weight. (bernard is a natural light-heavy) Hopkins could come in at 190-195, giving up a stone-and 1/2 or so, or 2 st. I don't think Haye has great footwork, and he sometimes loops his punches. Hopkins can teach a clinic on how to box guys like that. I ain't saying hopkins wins for sure -but i see it as a more competitive fight than most. both are promoted by golden boy -so it might just happen. As for taking haye's punch, it's a gamble for bernard, but i have never seen him rocked once. not one time. i'm not sure i've seen anybody hit bernard clean his defense is that good. too bad he has a fight with roy jones first. that's lackluster. hopkins at heavyweight, even just for one fight, does more for me than anything that valuev guy can do -that's a carnival show. taking on a klitschko is something bernard just can't do physically. haye is another story. i say make the fight. what else is out there at heavy??? yes, i am for real!
