Both fighters are good but since Roy has tasted the canvas he has not been the same.B will win Roy has no defense and its basically a grudge fight!

I used to be a big fan of Roy Jones. I didn’t even realize he was still fighting. After losing to Tarver it seemed like he couldn’t win a fight to save his life.

if they do fight, it will be to serve one purpose only, who has aged better, we all know that’s Hopkins.

there is no point in the fight, neither are relevant fighters in any division anymore. the longer they fight on, especially jones, the more damage they are doing to the world’s memory of them.

if they both win, good on them, but i believe they should both retire, as it may be their last chance to do so on a high.

This fight means nothing. Have you ever seen a fight between two guys 40+, that actually meant anything in the history of boxing, if so please point me to it?

Jones is way past his prime, the only way he wins this fight is if Hopkins shows his age over night.

Secondly. both fighters are fighting next week, so if one loses (more likely jones), this fight will not even happen.

Two fighters need to be fighting in their prime for it to be meaningful, lets focus on making Pac-PBF happen.

Good Aricle but Jones losses to Tarver twice and Glen Johnson were after winning the Heavyweight title and losing all that MUSCLE took a lot out of him. Unlike Hatton he lost muscle so that’s why i think Roy Jones is great. Arguabky top 10 p4p of all time

Jones by far. He beat Hopkins, Toney, Griffin, Hill, Woods, Tarver, Trinidad, Pazienza, Mccalum, and Ruiz. And B-Hop’s fight with Calzaghe wasn’t close he just clinches and holds and roy doesn’t and roy got cut. Roy is gonna smoke B-Hop. And i love both fighters.

Some very interesting points guys. ZKO i agree with you that the stamina of roy jones could be his downfall. However, kool could be right that jones would win if hopkins was too negative eg. vs calzaghe. However, I don’t think this would happen, hopkins is very motivated for this and I see him looking for the ko earlier than he has done in previous fights. And Hopkins-Haye, what a fight that would be. Not sure who i’d want to win that 1 but it would sure be exciting.

People forget that roy had to lose 30 pounds of muscle to fight traver and that was his down fall not traver but the pounds.

RJ wins by UD again if it happens, its easy speed kills, all hopkins is gonna do it 1-2 punch and grab and hold on and try dirty boxing. RJ and BHop are my 2 favorite boxers but i see RJ winning again.

I feel Jones was superior for many years because of his remarkable athletic ability, which he translated to boxing. In his prime he was one of the finest athletes in the world, he likely could have reached pro in a few sports. Bernard is a pure boxer & as Peter stated above, a young 44. He’s almost a young 34! The guy is old school, a throw back, a master technician & tough as hell.(Name the last time you saw him shaken by a punch?) I see him beating Jones then taking on Haye (IF Haye retains his belt long enough) In an attempt to match Roys heavyweight win
