BoxRec still sees Hatton as the best light welterweight in the world

By Liam Santiago: As I was glancing through BoxRec’s boxing website I noticed that they still rank light welterweight legend Ricky Hatton number one in the world, with Timothy Bradley second. I was very pleased to see this as I have always claimed he is one of the best fighters of this generation. Placing the likes of Amir Khan up there for wins over slow, plodding paper champions is just being silly.
To an expert, like myself, Hatton vs Bradley is mega. And I mean mega. The two best 140 pounders, the old lion vs the young gun. Let’s just hope it happens.

This wannabe boxing expert must be dreaming like his idol Ricky Hatton. Hatton is still dreaming that he was winning until he got caught by a lucky punch by Floyd Mayweather, Jr. He is still dreaming that he was winning the second round by a mile until he got caught by “practically the first punch” by Manny Pacquiao. Oh, btw, Hatton admits to not having seen the video of his bout with Pacquiao, to this very date. Liam, Hatton, stop the dreams/excuses. Both of you, WAKE UP, already!!!

Ricky Hatton was an elite lineal champion during his day and his tenure as the undisputed number one light welter in the world.
Those were his glory days, days the most of us never see, but those days are now over. They are gone, and Ricky Hatton should thank God that he was fortunate enought to have such glory and move on to something else. Its time for him to leave.

at light welterweight, Hatton hasnt lost to be knocked off the top spot.
Marquez v Hatton will be a good watch, but as you say, loser declared shot and winner given no credit.
could be a cracking warm-up fight though if all goes well. Hatton could fight the winner of Timothy Bradley v Lamont Peterson.

these 2 fighters were beaten by manny pacquiao so badly. hatton was ko by pacquiao in just 1 shot and marquez was beat by pacquiao twice(KO 4x).
