Styles make fights: Dirrell schooled Froch

I like what I’ve seen of Froch so far..with the exception of this fight!
Froch didn’t win the fight…he simply didn’t lose.
I had not previously seen Dirrell fight but was impressed with his skill and speed however without the will to fight that simply isn’t sufficient to win a title fight.
Froch was slack and sloppy and although I agree with the final decision, it’s not a fight he should be proud of.
Froch needs to return to the ring as the same man who stood toe to toe with Jean Pascal(must see fight for anyone who hasn’t seen it). Then and only then will any faith I had in him be restored.

I just saw the fight, and have never seen the 2 boxers ever fight, but what I did see is a much more talented boxer with promise win a fight in spirit and in heart but not on paper, some people claimed that Frosh fought dirty, but if you can get away with it why stop ?
Deep down inside we all know clearly Dirrell won the fight because I truly didn’t see anything Frosh did to win. Oh maybe rabbit punches, holding the back of the neck of Dirrell, backfisting, clubbing, elbows to say the least…But I guarantee a loss like this will only rededicate Dirrell because he took the win for granted, maybe the next time when fighting in another country he will let it all hang out. Saying what I have said Dirrell did win the fight.

Why do you people keep writing about this fight? To say it in a nice way, both fighters had an off night. To be honest with you neither man deserved to win, they both stunk the place up.

somebody should tell dirrell that he can’t beat abraham by doing the same running and hugging.

abraham will erase dirrell on the ring, then we can stop talking about dirrell’s running and hugging.

If you are the challenger, you have to show courage and spirit, and rip the title away from the champion, especially if you are fighting in the champion’s backyard. Also, the decision will usually go against a negative fighter as the judges to not favour them.

Rich, I didn’t get to read his take on bunce. When I went back it was pulled. I’m guessing it was an impartial analysis? :p

Dirrell should have won the fight. All the excuses that Dirrell didn’t do enough to win could have been said about Froch. If Dirrell was running than Froch should have cut the ring off. Oh I forgot, Froch has no boxing skills whatsoever.

It was a hometown decision which happens everywhere. Dirrell landed almost 3 times as many shots and made Froch look stupid.

Fact is you can’t overrule the decision or turn back time. Get over it, he still has time to prove himself in the competition. But with that lack luster showing of what was a sloppy dodging technique, namely running (not footwork, Ali used footwork, this kids just running) and holding/falling about the place, I doubt he’s going to do much of anything in another hostile country against an even better fighter.
But the fact is the best he could have gotten from that fight was a draw. He did nothing to prove he won thqat fight at all (I actually had Dirrell up by 1 round)

Its really effing me off when people say, he did not do enough, they should score the fight as it has always been scored, what this “he did not do enough malarkey:?”

If he ran like so many of you guys are saying then he wouldn’t have hurt Froch on multiple occasions. If Dirrell ran all night and did little else that means Froch did abosultely nothing because Dirrell landed more frequently and more total punches. This fight was a complete eye sore and I wouldn’t watch it again if you paid me.

what did dirrell school froch in running away and not fighting and moaning to the ref maybe if he had stood and traded,with his superior speed he could have won.No fighter acting like a coward should be giving a decision.

i like froch but have to admit he looked slow and had no answer to dirrells defence. hope he can up his game and put some combinations together in the next fight or he will fall short..

I am a British fan, I don’t like Carl Froch, and I don’t like that other writer your obviously refering to with his constant Brit-bating.
At best however it was a draw, Dirrell was easily more athletic and danced rings round Froch but never tried to mount an offence and for that alone he didn’t deserve to win.
His footwork was superb, his defence excellent but Floyd Mayweather he aint.
If he couldn’t land shots on a stationary target like Froch he doesn’t stand much chance at the top level against someone who can actually box like Kessler or Abraham.

I’m an American boxing fan, and I thought Dirrell’s performance was atrocious. His first time on an international stage, and his first shot at a title and all he can do is run. Froch was an ideal opponent for Dirrell, slow moving, slow handed, and not a one-shot knockout artist, yet Dirrell could not mount a sustained attack. If Froch had continued to jab (which was effective for him) Dirrell’s performance would have been even sorrier, since he simply does not like to engage.
