Is tonight the road to bigger things for Audley Harrison
By Liam Santiago: Tonight Audley Harrison (23-4, 17 KO’s) will make another attempt to get his career back on track, after an embarrassing start tonight against 6’7″ Scott Belshaw (10-2, 7 KO’s) at the ExCel Arena, Dockland, London. The former olympic gold medallist will star in the prize fighter tournament. Also involved is his bitter rival, Danny Williams. This is the last chance for Audley. If he wants to go places he has to win this tournament.
Audley just does not seem to have the confidence in his fitness to dominate of twelve rounds, or even ten. However, tonight will be different. All bouts are three rounder’s and that is where Audley is best. I think he will win this tournament because he has to. If he does not win tonight, it is the end for Harrison. He has claimed, recently, that he still believes he can become world champion and he has recently called out David Haye. Personally, i can not see Audley mixing it with the Klitchsko’s just yet, but, he has got the talent.
One thing I always disagree with Audley’s critics is that he is over rated. He has got the talent. All he lacks in the confidence in himself and the heart to win. I think now that it has hit him that this is his very last chance, we might see a different Audley. If he goes on to win tonight, it won’t mean he is destined for a world title, because these are only three round fights. But, it will be a great start to a comeback for big Aud.

Initially Audley had all the attributes required to be a competitive Pro at heavy, height, weight, decent jab, reasonable power, good amateur pedigree, but I think the problem lies in the fact that he never really got out of amateur mode. He was paid a lot of money to turn pro and I think he felt his path to the title was his “right”, if you like. His heart and durability are questionable to us and himself, following some suprise losses, obviously affecting his confidence. I think it’s too late in the day for him, world title wise, I think he simply does’nt want it enough, regardless of his shortcomings.
i cud beat him yes
if harrison is going to be heavyweight champion, he’s going about it very… oddly.
Everey fight is Fraudley’s last fight and ‘last chance’. Who on earth would want to fight him even if he wins? Why? He is not dangerous and brings nothing to the table. He has been awful for years and the guff he comes out with re title shot is truly make believe!
LIAM SANTIAGO,I,M NOT A AUDLEY FAN BUT I DO AGREE WITH WOT U SAY.3 RDS WILL SUIT HIM.ITS JUST THE PRESSURE HE DONT LIKE AND IN PRIZEFIGHTER THATS ALL IT IS.BUT HARRISON COULD WELL WIN THIS 2NITE HE DONT NEED 2 AV A FIGHT OVER SUCH A SHORT DISTANCE.AND I THINK IT WILL SUIT.ANYBODY SKY SPORTS AT 9
Audley looks like he has the tools for the job hope he starts using them properly tonight. He dont help himself by telling everyone how good he is . think he lacks confidence really. Hope he proves himself well tonight and wins the tournament.Less talk more action and less talk even if he wins .
Ive not really seen him fight, i wasnt a heavy boxing fan during the peak of the harrison hype.
I wish him luck, does anyone know where i can watch this online? Im willing to pay
no heart,no balls the guy is a joke!dont know why half of the muppets on this site are hanging off his arse!
yeah, if oddly can win a tournament of three-rounders, surely it means he’s ready for a title shot. and if he can beat everyone in the pub afterward at arm-wrestling, that means he’s probably the strongest man in the world. c’mon, seriously? butterbean fought three-rounders, for christ’s sake. it’s like a tough-man competition. oddly harrison is a club fighter at best. impressive looking, just not particularly good at boxing.
ive have boxed for years you piece of trash, not that i need to explain myself to u. your probably just a muppet armchair boxing fan who hasnt got any normal boxing inteligence to have any input. you probably havent got the balls to climb between the ropes yourself, your just a fat geek surfing the net hiding behind your computer, you pathetic freak. dont bother replying i cant be bothered with the back and forth emails, i left school ten years ago invalid
you 2 guys must be on heavy drugs
audley harrison is really under rated and i think he would beat valuev hands down
i THINK THIS TIME NEXT YEAR AUD WILL HAVE BEATEN HAYE AND WAITING TO FIGHT VITALI
Scouse Wizard. You wont know a thing about boxing as your scouse. I know its stereotypical but 90% of scouse males are just usless dole hogging smack heads!
Audley Harrison (23-4, 17 KO’s) is a champ
audley is going nowhere near a world title he’s got no heart he should retire, i hope he gets ko’d tonight
Audley should win if he fights on the night.. unless he gets stage fright then his doomed!
lol fraudley said a couple of weeks ago “This is a stepping stone to a world title” The man should do stand up comedy. Danny is the man tonight
What he lacks is the ability to take a punch. He’s a hack boxer, and I for one am completely bored of him
