Matthew Hatton vs Lovemore N’Dou – It’s showtime!

hatton-matthew4342229By Liam Santiago: The bookies have Matthew Hatton as a massive underdog when he faces Lovemore N’Dou for the IBO title this Saturday. Hatton is a 4/1 underdog and rightly so. This bout should not be happening. Hatton is currently ranked 5th in the British rankings so many people are asking the question, why did Hatton get a shot at the world stage?

To be fair to Hatton he has had a few back to back wins over fighters who were good in their primes, but that prime was about fifteen years ago. Boxing is a sport where you work your way up. Hatton is only 5th ranked in the British rankings so why does he not have a go at winning that title? Or even a European title? He is simply skipping past every other deserving fighter and jumping to the world stage, where he will sadly be beaten easily.

He was easily beaten by 4th ranked British welterweight Craig Watson. So why is he going to forget all about that and win a world title? It just does not work like that I am afraid Mr. Hatton. Why not beat Watson? This, like many other bouts these days, is a total mis-match that should not be happening.

Why isn’t The Hatton brothers fighting on the same card. Matthew is getting his title shot against Lovemore at 147 and Ricky should fight Zab at 140 on the undercard to bring more Fans to watch Matthew and Ricky win there bouts. Ricky vs. Zab would be a great fight to see. The winner fight Juan Diaz or Khan for the Title.

Hatton deserves it! he beat Bami and is the mandatory challanger. I doubt he’ll win and he will proberly be knocked out aswell but I hope he wins

  • Jim says:

It’s the IBO belt, no one cares. He got the shot by beating Ted Bami in an eliminator, that’s why he deserves this oppurtunity. I can’t see him winning but good luck to Hatton.

  • JD says:

Who cares? Lovemore “won” the belt by beating Phillip N’Dou, who was only in his second fight after being off more then 4 1/2 years.

  • matt says:

He got a shot because that surname creates interest, interest equals moneyand boxing is the denominator.
