Kratingdaenggym Stops Dunne; Fury Decisions Mrazek – Boxing Results
By William Mackay: World Boxing Association super bantamweight champion Bernard Dunne (28-2, 15 KO’s) was shockingly upset by challenger Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym (39-1, 28 KO’s) tonight in a 3rd round stoppage at the O2, in Dublin, Ireland.
You could see early on that Kratingdaenggym was going to be a problem for Dunne because he was landing some powerful combinations in the first two rounds and Dunne looked uncomfortable with the big shots. Although bigger than Kratingdaenggym, Dunne didn’t have the same kind of quickness and power that Kratingdaenggym had going for him and found himself getting tagged regularly by the 2nd round.
Dunne seemed to take the wrong approach to the fight, perhaps thinking he could tough it out and outgun Kratingdaenggym at his own game but it was a bad strategy because he kept getting drilled over and over again by Kratingdaenggym without fail.
In fairness to Dunne, he might have felt that there was more pressure on him because he was fighting front of a large Irish crowd, who would have expected for Dunne to trade shots and give a good crowd pleasing performance. However, Dunne didn’t have the chin or the power to trade shots with a slugger like Kratingdaenggym and the eventual outcome was inevitable once Dunne started going toe-to-toe with Kratingdaenggym.

Fury Defeats Mrazek
In other action on the card, unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (9-0, 7 KO’s) defeated journeyman Tomas Mrazek (4-23-5, 3 KO’s) by a six-round decision. The final scores were 60-50. Fury, 21, looked hardly impressive, showing little power or improvement from his questionable 10 round decision over John McDermott two weeks ago.
Fury did, however, drop Mrazek in the 6th round, but he was unable to add to the knockdown and had to be content with just winning a six round decision. After the fight, Fury complained of injuring his right hand, which prevented him from loading up on his shots like he usually does.
Fury’s performances seemed to have regressed in the past several fights as he’s no longer looking as nearly powerful and impressive as he was in his first six fights.
With this victory, Fury will be looking at fighting a rematch against McDermott in December because the British Boxing Board of Control is forcing a rematch because an appeal was made to them by McDermott’s promoter who felt that the fight results should have been overturned.
The results won’t be overturned but their will be a rematch. Most boxing writers who witnessed the fight felt that McDermott should have been given the decision over fury. However, referee Terry O’Connor felt that Fury had done enough to get the win and scored it 98-92 for Fury.

fury is turning in to an audley now the opposition is getting betteropp
it like to see muroe beat cordovo or poosawat if he is any good he will end up fighting won of them and ill be back on this site if he does end up fighting 1 of them win or lose my bet is lose
I agree with Antonio, Munroe is a slick boxer and a fighter like Dunne would play right into his hands and although Munroe isnt a big hitter it could still be a late KO, and D-Nunan yes i am a Munroe fan but an unbiased one due to me being from c
Coventry and RM being from Leicester (a football rivalry)but I know a better boxer when i see one
I disagree with the opening statement for this article (Dunne being shockingly upset) – This was a tough fight for Dunne.
I’ve never rated Dunne and don’t think his chin is upto to world level but his heart and ability to recuperate very quickly is 2nd to none. A lot of fighters wouldn’t have got up after the first knockdown, let alone the 2nd. Credit Dunne for also taking a very tough 1st defence.
Poonsawat looked teak tough.
Dunne wont beat munroe.Rendall is far to slick for dunne.
thanks pauly i agree dunne to beat munroe for euro belt shut munroe and maloney up once nd 4 all!!
d nunan is right as well
dunne was not aloud fight anybody else he was the number 1 challanger for a year and a half he could of fought munroe but would have to give his belt up well that fight should happen now dunne to win by ko munroe not even top 10 in the world
Mark f u are clearly a munroe fan but when munroe had the euro title hed wouldnt give dunne a chance at it nd as soon as dunne gets a world title they try nd get a fight with dunne so why would he take a step back after winnin a world title nd fight munroe who at the same time was fightin isaac netty who was 3 nd 2 hes a joke!!
Although Bernard is a great boxer it was unfortunatly clear as soon as he got in the ring that he didnt stand a chance against the skill and power of Poonsawat. The new champion will go places.
Dunne got a shot that should’ve been given to Rendall Munroe, a better boxer and a man who twice beat Kiko Martinez, the guy who sparked Dunne in one, plus Dunne wouldnt fight Munroe despite Maloneys big money offer.
fury should go to America for good sparring sessions. He is a physical beast he needs better schooling.
whos tyson fury think he is he aint that good it wont be long before someone knocks this bum out he cant even get him self in decent shape hes fat and ugly and hes already been beat by mcdermott.
I dont think that was that much of a suprise, Dunne is a decent boxer but ive never rated him that highly and against a big puncher hes always guna be in with a chance of getting floored.
As for Fury, im dying for him to turn into a real contender but the more i see the less i believe its guna happen. A real future world champion would be blowing this type of opposition away in a round in explosive fashion. Along way to go and hes only 21 but i just dont see him reaching the level people are tipping him to reach.
Thats what the article says….
Actually Terry O’Connor scored it 98 – 92 . . . .
