referee was correct in his dq of concepcion. kinda reminds me of a fight i saw years ago sammy serrano of p.r. defending against a japanize fighter after his opponent had turnd completly around and was heading to his corner serrano sheepshoted him from behind and to my amazedment he was not desqualified instantly but was given the win by ko.

dont be so sure. luevano has a history of running out of gas. if he wears down alittle bit, conception coud catch him with some power shots, and that will be a turn around fight.
protect yourself at all time,youre a fighter you should know that, or else change profession.

Let’s just wait for the rematch. It was a disqualification no doubt but I don’t think it was intentional on Concepcion’s part. Luevano was clearly overacting when he dramatized that he could no longer continue. It was an easy way out for Leuvano coz he knows he couldn’t take concepcion’s power punches in the later rounds. I hope a rematch does happen coz it was anybody’s game before that unfortunate incident. one might argue that Luevano was a more technical fighter than Concepcion but hey, that was what they also said before pacquiao knock out morales in the rematch. ‘Till next fight night.

Lueveno is a good technical boxer but he only fights his mandatory once a year to keep his belt in a division thats never short of contenders

Hey, bernabe isn’t that bad fighter, skills wise. he just need learn some latteral footwork to enhance his total package. there’s nothing to do with that muscle. and I guess luevano also is intimidated with concepcion’s power.

I agree with with the decision to have him disqualified whether it was intentional or not or whether Luevano is over reacting or not..it doesn’t take away the fact that he did a cheap shot on Luevano..however, I want to know why the referee was so far away from the fighters inside the 10-sec mark when he should have been near to break the fight at the bell..i also think the referee needs to be sanctioned as well..it was part of his job…I have seen so many fights when fighters don’t really hear the bell either because of the crowds’ noise or in deep concentration..As I see it..Concepcion doesn’t a chance against Luevano even if the fight is allowed to continue..he may have hurt Luevano but LUevano is just too slick and smart for him..a rematch is unnecessary..I don’t see him improving..
