Zbik Defeats Spada by Controversial Decision
By Erik Schmidt: In a highly controversial bout, undefeated middleweight contender Sebastian Zbik (27-0, 10 KO’s) earned a close 12-round unanimous decision over top rated WBC middleweight contender Italian Domenico Spada (29-2, 14 KO’s) on Saturday night for the interim World Boxing Council middleweight title at the Nuerburgring race track, in Nuerburg, Germany.
News – Froch to Fight Dirrell
By Scott Gilfoid: World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KO’s) got some of the worst possible news imaginable today when it was announced that Froch would have to defend his WBC title against undefeated 2004 U.S. Olympian Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO’s) on October 10th as part of Showtime’s six-man tournament.
