When Oscar fought Pac,even freddy roach said that he could see the syringe marks on Oscar's arm where they were trying to get some kind of fluids into his body because He was unable to retain any water after the weigh'n do to his training for the fight.Oscar did not even gain any weight after the weigh'n.On the unofficial scales b4 the fight they said Oscar was weighed with all of his clothes on and his sneakers, and he only weighed 147lbs.That means that he was probably not even 147 the night of the fight considering that a fighter at the weigh'n gets weighed with as little clothes on as possible. When a fighter gets on the scales for a fight, they usualy gain some of there natural fluid weight after, that is needed for them to have strength come fight night. When was the last time you seen Oscar not gain some weight after the weigh'n come fight night?I mean!Pac weighed more then Oscar on the night of the fight.Somethings wrong if a man thats supposed to be the smaller man at(5'7')comes into a welter weight fight weighing more then the supposed bigger man.Pac(150lbs)Oscar(147lbs)on fight night.Something not right about that picture.
I read that in the contract for the fight,Osar was not even allowed to gain any weight after the weigh'n or freddy would not allow Pac to fight.
All that stuff about how Oscar kept saying that he felt good and comfortable being at that 145lbs early in the training camp was true. But only shows that in doing so he left everything in the gym.You dont go into camp and weeks b4 the fight you weigh 145lbs.Oscars camp tried this strategy but it backfired.Yes he felt good in training, but ask Oscar if he felt good on fight night.Oscars camp should of never let Oscar go below the 147lb limit, why should he,the fights at 147lbs.There was no reason for him to go below that weight. They should have let Oscar hover above 147 by acouple of pounds and then afew days leading into the weigh'n get him down to 147lbs for just that little amount of time.Oscar going under the limit all the down to 145lbs was just plain n simpleythe wrong thing to do to his body at that point of his career.

Oscar never ducked a fight ever.At junior light weight and light weight yes Oscar was the taller man,but to say that he picked on smaller men is ridiculous.

I mean,Mosley said the same thing about when he was a light weight, that he realy wasn't a light weight but was able to make the weight comfortably so he continued fighting in the division and racked up a nice K.O.percentage fighting as the naturaly bigger man then his opponents.

Can you knock Paul Williams if he was able to get fights and stayed in the welter weight div just because he is a tall man (6'1").

If a fighter is able to make the weight, then he can fight at that weight whatever weight that might be.

Pac is not a 108lber no more, hasn't been for a long time now.Its easier for Pac to gain a few pounds of muscle then it is for his opponents to strip down and lose muscle(strength) at these catch weights.
Pac was like 16 when he was 108lbs.He is a grown man now, not a kid anymore people.

All the while the comments are mounting up on his articles and for him, its another victory, again the poster... "I preach your name Antonio, and you see? they listen man, they effing love you man!".

Ok....so let me start off by saying that Pac has earned his current spot as P4P champ.

Cotto hasn't looked the same since Plaster-ito re-arranged his face that night in vegas.

But Cotto is still Elite welter material.

I would say that anything below 146 and you could bet ona Pacquiao victory.

I would...and im a huge Cotto fan.

but anyone calling Cotto a hack......doesn't deserve to call himself a boxing enthusiast.

Batengueno said it already "People will say it is an excuse already for when Cotto loses. Na-ah. We will all see from the get go if he is weakened by making the silly catch weight. We will see if the real Cotto will show up, or like Oscar, he would be a shell of his healthy self." - which basically means, if Cotto beats him, then Pac's been over rated, if Cotto loses, then he's a shell of his healthy self - which basically means, what ever happens, I'm not giving Pac any credit. Just another illustration of a Pac critic already making excuses as to what ever transpire Nov. 14th.

Why do I keep reading comments about how Manny
Pacquiao keeps Making these fighters come down in weight. Cotto would be his first Lady's and Gentle-men.

Oscar was willing to come down to proved, he was the mexican fighter to stop MP. But yet another bites the dust. We all knew the Oscar fight was a circus fight. 135 LBS guy goes to 147 and a 154 guy come down to 147. That's 12 pounds for MP to gain and 7 pounds for Oscar to lose. You guys are so worked up about this myth on how Pac make's these fighters come down, you guys must of forgot he had to go up.. If anything, they both had their own disadvantages. Money talks bull-S..Walks.

SO PLEASE ANTI-PACs.....TELL ME WHO ELSE HAS PAC FOUGHT AT A CATCH WEIGHT?????????????????

YOU CAN'T ANSWER, CAN YOU. Cuz MP haven't fought a catch weight fight like you Anti-pacs are claiming.

Please Anti-pacs, Know the differences between Facts From (Fiction-"Manuel Perez")......

I will start off by saying that I have a lot more respect for the editors and writers of the Bible of Boxing, Ring Magazine, than anyone who writes their opinions on this site. I also respect the Boxing Writers Asociation of America a lot too.

And who do they each rate as the No 1 boxer in the world today? Who do they rate as the most exciting? And who does every boxer want to fight? One last time, who do the fans pay top $ to see? I mean the ticket sales and celebrities say it loud and clear. Manny is the man. He is popular and boxers get their biggest payday even if they only get 35% of the whole pie.
Ali, Leonard, Tyson and Oscar were the previous cash cows and everybody wanted pice of them. Ali fought allcomers. Leonard fought great fighters but picked some soft guys too. He selected the gloves, the ring size, the weight and flexibility of the ropes. People accepted because they felt they could win. Whose fault?
TYson was ruthless, hungry & mean and he fought anybody anywhere. Guys knew they would be killed but they got paid well so they fought him. After he made millions he got sloppy & paid the price.
Oscar picked the old, over the hill boxers and made them come up to meet him. He picked the ring, gloves, ropes and weight and took by far the lion's share. He had a great heart but not the same talent as Ali or Leonard.
He only had to come down from 150 where he fought Forbes and on 24/7 he said he got to 147 early so he could get accustomed and feel comfortable. He would be fresh and strong and he knew he was natuarlly a bigger man. Yes naturally bigger. If you do not get the literal meaning Batanguelo, I suggest you find out what it means. Oh, and find out why they are NOT synthethic weight classes as opposed to natural ones. I think you can read and you do understand why they are in boxing and all forms of combat fighting. Don't thank me!
Back to Oscar, he only came down 3 lbs meanwhile Manny had to come way up, two classes. Is that unfair? He did the same to Mosley from l-weight to welter and Mosley kicked his ass. Oscar's problem has always been his inability to hold his stamina. He also was made to look old ans slow because he underestimated Manny's speed and speed kills. Check Ali, Leonard & Super Roy. The shots were coming so fast that all Oscar could do was quit, like he did against B-Hop. Oh, B-hop did what a bigger man is supposed to do to a little man...overwhelm him with power and strength.
People can criticize Manny and try to belittle his achievements but the real experts and the real educated fans are giving him his dues. You can keep writing your biased articles BUT it won't change the real facts. You are trying so hard to rewrite history and become a revisionist but you are merely a writer of fiction.
Cotto is a very good fighter who gave Mosley a great fight. I thought he was out on his feet when that fight ended but he held on and got the win. He punished Judah. But Margarito wore him down with loaded gloves and he edged Clottey in a very close fight. He showed great heart to win.
He used to have problems at 140 so he moved to 147. He comes in at 145-146 and says he has no problems at 145, one less than vs Clottey.
What then is the deal? People are already looking for excuses if Manny wins. If he loses, he is/was a bum. Manny is not a big man but he puts on his weight in a very well, trains very hard and is well prepared with a decent game plan. He is my No 1 boxer and I hope he wins. I feel Cotto is still too big but like Ali, he will find a way to beat his George Foreman.

He picked the ring, gloves, ropes and weight and took by far the lion’s share.
Don’t thank me!
Back to Oscar, he only came down 3 lbs meanwhile Manny had to come way up, two classes. Is that unfair? He did the same to Mosley from l-weight to welter and Mosley kicked his ass. Oscar’s problem has always been his inability to hold his stamina. He also was made to look old ans slow because he underestimated Manny’s speed and speed kills. Check Ali, Leonard & Super Roy. The shots were coming so fast that all Oscar could do was quit, like he did against B-Hop. Oh, B-hop did what a bigger man is supposed to do to a little man…overwhelm him with power and strength.
