Victor Ortiz CLEARLY quit. After getting up from the knockdown, he didn’t even bother trying to get back to the fight, and instead walked over to the corner.

He quit, and his post fight comments only cement the fact that he doesn’t have the heart for this sport.

Hey Manuela Perez! your such a clean up crew for your superstar. why not compare the heart of Ortiz to Pacquiao now. Pacquiao-Morales I. they have the same cut. how about the rounds they went over with. what round did ortiz got the cut? and stoppes at what round? haha!
Pacquiao got cut on the 6th or 7th maybe but went to a split decision.

i´m not so sure that ortiz would eventually knock out maidana if he had realized that switching his style was the solution. the “guy” you have mentioned has probably the most powerful punches that victor has faced ever. and the work to the body began to gave fruits from the 3rd round. just look ortiz face at his corner during 4th and 5th intervals. it must be difficult to stand a pair of iron cannonballs punching your ribs constantly.

Ortiz did quit… it was clearly obvious. Ortiz should not have put himself in that position in the first place. He admitted that his team gave him the right strategy. When he found out the guy has “pop”, why didn’t he switch styles? He could have broken this guy down with boxing skills and eventually knock him out. Now that Ortiz’s chin has been cracked, I’m not sure it will ever be the same.

learn from cotto ortiz he stayed fighting for 9 rounds with a worst cut over his eye then u but he keep fighting so i dont understand why perez calls ortiz a true warrior and cotto a fake??????? And as for julio c chavez he was a great mexican fighter one of the best

perez, here you are again. your vicious ortiz just followed what his promoter did when he got beaten. surrender. you said he didnt quit. when he waived his hand while fighting, that’s it…that’s quitting. warriors dont quit like that. you can never be a great fighter until you overcome beating like that. if he can fight more rounds, why did he act like he doesnt want to fight anymore. if you dont call that quitting, i dont know what quit is.

ok, ok. maybe ortiz has little heart. but..what about maidana punches? his fists are not made of cotton. i notice that his continuous punches to the body made victor lose stamina through each round. nevertheless he is a young boxer and he has a future

Ive been watching ortiz ever since he was 18 on hes first fight the kid was hungry he was kicking some ass and ive seen chino fight hes no push around. But what i saw that day was bad he had no heart that night when hes coach said im going to stop the fight he didnt respond at all I still like him and i will still will watch him fight but i would never bet on him he lost all heart that night an his comment at the end man miguel cotto fought all 12 rounds with an cut 2 times bigger than hes on the second round but i still like victor i hope he can wake after this fight hes still young

Manuela – you completely contradicted yourself in this article. You said that you didn’t agree with ODLH that Ortiz should have fought a different fight, but you later said in the next paragraph that next time he should box and move instead of slugging it out. Which is it? That paragraph is a total contradiction much like most of your articles. Cotto’s cut was much worse and he fought 9 rounds with only one eye, yet you gave him no credit. No you say that its almost impossible to fight with a cut over your eye. All you articles are written contradictions.
