No i dont think he does get the respect. But i also blame him for some of it.

After the Khan fight people took notice and also noticed his imrpessive record, but after taking another look they saw the names on his record and its not imrpessive, nobodys heard of any of them.

He needed to follow the Khan fight up with something else imrpessive while these eyes are on him and he didnt really deliver, yeah he won but it was bad, and people started to lose that interest already.

A win over Valero would of been a huge 2nd chance for him but Valero wanted more and more money, Valero felt like he already was big time and could make big time demands.

As far as i know this fight has not been re-arranged but im not the font of all knowledge but if he got that oppertunity again hed better take it if he wants to find himself on a quicker ride to the top.

Especially seein as hes seen as high risk low profit, thats a horrible thing to have over you, people will avoid you like the plague and you will get no breaks in gettin a big name to fight.

“British boxing icon”? – That’s questionable… good article though. I believe under Roach Khan’s defence has improved, however it has not been fully tested since Barrera (which was a gifted result in Khans favour).

Prescott deserves more respect and I think a fight with Valero is a good match-up, a very good oppertunity in fact!

As far as I know, alot of British boxing fans respect Prescott for his speed and power. Khan isn’t loved by British fans as much as you’d think, personally I think he is a good prospect only so far, only time will tell.

I thought the Prescott valero fight was called off?
Can anyone confirm it is defo going ahead!?
I think Prescott will win, Valero does not seem to have much boxing ability…

I agree wit u liam he knocks out a top ten contender and is fround apon but he is a dangerous fighter he can bang and boxer so not many of the top lightweights would take the high risk for very little reward …
as exciting as edwin valero is he has a hell of alot of flaws his defence is next to nothing but he has the power in both hands 2 knock out any fighter…….

But at the end of the day this is a business khan wil prob never get back in the ring wit him …. you dont get wat you want in boxing you get wat u negotiate …. hence khan’s title shot…… peace
