Rigondeaux Wins his Pro Debut by TKO

rigo26By Sam Gregory: The May 22nd edition of ESPN2 Friday Night Fight’s from Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami Beach featured in their co-main event 28 year old super bantamweight two-time Olympic gold medalist and Cuban national team captain Guillermo Rigondeaux who has making his pro debut against Juan Noriega in a scheduled four round fight in the Jr featherweight division.

From the opening bell Rigondeaux came on strong and with confidence showing why he is considered by many experts to be the greatest amateur that has ever laced up a pair of gloves. He totally dominated the first 2 rounds of the fight round scoring a knockdown early on in the first round.

His opponent Juan Noriega was totally out-classed as the referee called a halt to the bout at 1:09 of the third round making Rigondeaux the winner by TKO in his first professional fight.
