News – Malignaggi vs. Alvarado Called Off!

By Eric Thomas: Former International Boxing Federation light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (26-2, 5 KOs) dodged a bullet with today’s announcement that undefeated Mike Alvarado (26-0, 18 KOs) suffered an injury while in training for their June 27th bout, and had to pull out of their fight which was to have taken place at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, as part of the “Late Fury 9″ PPV bout.
Despite the poor performance against Hatton, Malignaggi remains ranked at number #6 in the IBF within striking distance of a title shot against IBF title holder Juan Urango.

paulie is a top class fighter he didnt get out of anything avaraldo has saved himself a loss on that perfect record. plus i dont think he lost the IBF belt to hatton i thought it was cotto?? as hatton wasnt ibf champ when he thought pacman but i might be wrong. i think paulie would beat urango as he has an great chin and amazing boxing skills. I know people say he lacks punch power but i think Paulie is a awsome fighter and really like the guy. Good luck to him in the future also i think he could beat urango and a lot of the fighters in he light welter divsion
