Berto-Urango: Andre Wins by Shutout

By Sam Greogry: In the main event on HBO’s Boxing After Dark from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Ft Lauderdale, Florida undefeated Andre Berto successfully defended his WBC welterweight title against Juan Urango in a 12 round unanimous decision.

Andre Berto started out strong and never looked back in 12 solid rounds against the Colombian southpaw who started out with the advantage of the south Florida hometown crowd.

Berto was the much faster puncher who got his shots off at blinding speed making Urango look average at best. Andre Berto fought a text book perfect fight landing 3, 4 and 5 punch combinations that baffled the Colombian southpaw.

Andre Berto, who was born just up the road in Miami, had a vocal fan base with the Hollywood, Florida crowd who let their approval be known throughout the action packed rounds that Berto easily dominated.

Berto’s defense was practically impenetrable in a unanimous decision on all three judge’s score cards 117-111, and 118-110 twice.

Andre Berto improved his unbeaten record to 25-0 with 19 KO’s.

    Andre berto is nothing special he beat a average lww in urango and struggled against a average welter (collazo). He has lost his power now he has stepped up in class aswell, when he fights on eof the elite he will be beaten or knocked out.
