Klitschko-Haye Bout to Take Place in German Soccer Stadium – News
By Chris Williams: With the latest news about International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs) facing British heavyweight David Haye (22-1, 21 KOs) in a 60,000 seat soccer in Gilsenkirchen, Germany, I’m now giving Haye next to no chance of winning the fight. Haye had it bad before the fight, coming into a bout with the best heavyweight on the planet with little experience at heavyweight, a bad chin and not enough size for the division. I could ignore all of those factors and still give Haye a moderately good chance because of his awesome power.
However, with the fight taking place in Wladimir’s neck of the woods in a large stadium which will no doubt be filled with a horde of loyal fans of Wladimir, I think it’s going to be far too much for Haye to get the victory. Oh, I’m sure a few thousand Limey fans will come over to support Haye for the bout, but their voice will be completely lost among all the Germans that will be attending the fight.
Haye is a good fighter, but with that many people rooting against him, I can’t see Haye doing any better than getting knocked out in the fight. He has little boxing skills, so I wouldn’t expect Haye to be able to win a decision over Wladimir, although I couldn’t see it happening anyway because Haye doesn’t box his opponents; He tries to take their heads off with every punch.
Haye has fought most of his career in the safe confines of England, fighting in front of friendly audiences almost always. Though Haye has found some success when traveling out of his country, most notably his 7th round TKO win over Jean Marc Mormeck in November 2007, most of his wins have come at home.
The win over Mormeck wasn’t such a big deal because of Mormeck’s limited height of 5’11”. When you compare that to the 6’6” Wladimir, it pretty much disqualifies that win completely for Haye. If you’re travel out of your country to fight, I can’t give Haye credit unless he’s fighting someone along the same lines of talent as Wladimir.
Unfortunately, I can see too many fighters other than Carl Thompson, who knocked Haye out in the 5th round in 2004, that can compare to Wladimir in terms of overall talent. As such, I think Haye is in way over his head by having to travel to what will likely be a hostile stadium on June 20th, filled with angry, Haye-hating Germans.
I wish Haye the best, but I think he’s going to get knocked out badly. It’s too bad because Haye did such a good job talking his way into a title fight against Wladimir without having to fighting his way into a shot like normal heavyweights. But, even if Haye does end up losing badly, maybe Vitali might still be interested in giving him a shot at his WBC title. At least Haye would get another opportunity to fight for a title, even if it isn’t earned.

WTF you talkin bout daddies, daddied, daddies.Fkn fool.Make some sense next time you post.We Americans don’t give a rats ass if you brits stand by our side.We dont stand back and wait to see what the Brits do.The Brits sit back and wait to see what the Americans do.That’s a fact.Dont forget you silly fool.If it wasn’t for my daddies daddies daddies, your sorry ass would be speakin German right now.Back to boxing.Ricky Hatton had 20,000 Brits to sit back and watch him get KTFO.Haye is no Hatton and even though im not a Hatton fan.He is a respectful boxer that got to were he is with hard work.Unlike the Haye faker who uses disrespect and touts a shatty Cruiserweight Division as his achievement.
Actually Wladimir Klitschko is very much a popular figure in Germany appearing on TV often (doing adverts)constantly taking part in diverse social events in Germany with the German elite. Wladimir is if anything a “Global Player” his home being the world stage. His brother Vitali resides in Beverly Hills yet he has tried to become the mayor of Kiev the capitol of the Ukraine a couple of years ago. The one world “utopia” is coming ever closer and these two are examples of how the world is getting ever smaller.
Adam, you angry strange little man, Hatton took 20’000 or so to Vegas when he faced Mayweather, the fact he got beat doesnt matter, the point was that the Brits will travel for their boxer.
I dont think Haye will take a lot over, maybe a few thousand, but thats more than enough to noise up the stadium because the Germans dont get animated for their own fighters, never mind adopted fighters.
“You Brits only invade countries after us Americans do all the dirty work”. You are probably the only person on this or any site that would come out with something so stupid (and given your dirty work includes frindly fire, you should be grateful any nation will stand by your side). So to be equally as stupid, i will add that your country, of which you are so proud, was in fact discovered and colonised by the Europeans, Brits included, so by default, somewhere down your family tree, you will find a Brit!!!!! Guess what that means, yes, you are slating your daddies, daddies, daddies, daddy!!!! Silly boy.
1st off. That poser above with the same name isn’t me.2nd,You Brits are out of your fkn mind if you think half the stadium will be packed with Brits. No fkn way.Not in a million years.David Haye isn’t even liked very well in England and hardly anybody will make the track to Germany.Haye is no Hatton.Which isn’t sayin much considering Hatton isn’t a very good boxer himself.Ask Floyd Mayweather,CHIN CHECK ANYONE.David Haye doesn’t stand a chance in this fight and you Brits are tryin to talk yourselves into believing he does.Nice try.Haye couldn’t even withstand a punch from a 190 pound Thompson. When he feels the jab of Klitschko,he’ll be running for his life.David Haye pretended like he was the bully on campus, going up against the btch azz Cruiserweights. Now he will get his face beaten in real quick by the real Champ.Quit dreaming bthes. And Jordan. You Brits only invade countries after us Americans do all the dirty work.Don’t kid yourself.
Its about time now we will see david make the HW division worth watchin…
Haye is gonna knock ten bells out the robot which is klitschko
Mate, do you know what the british do for a livng? We invade other countries. We take 200, 00 people to world cups in South America and Africa, I can garauntee that satdium will be half full with UK fans so your point is irelevant and laughable to the point I am chocking on my Earl Grey. Haye will win this fight. With regards to support, how many other fighters have bought 10, 000 to a weigh in in a foreign state??? That was the US, germany is 2 hours from the Empire, so again, irelevant.
Is this guy for real , have u seen the german fans , they dont sing, they dnt shout they dnt do nothing. You wait if any1 is going to get shocked its going to be wlad. And do you call 02 arena a small arena ?
let see what happen………..
I dont see the fights location being any baring on the possible result of this fight.
Theres no way in the world it would go the distance, somebodys getting knocked out. So no crowd, no support, no nothing is guna change that or help Vlad.
2nd of all dont you watch boxing in Germany? They love their boxing like the rest of us but they are a very very quiet audience. Its just the way they are. If even 3 Brits go out there to support haye they will be heard.
And Christine dont try to make out a point about most Hayes wins coming on home turf, show me a boxer, a champion boxer who fights most of his away from home, and Pacquiao may be 1 but theres atleast 25-30 world champions out there and most of them do most their defending at home.
Well he is always classed as Ukranian but was in fact born in Kazakhstan!!! My apologies!
Haye doesnt have Hattons following nor does he have a UK fanbase half as big. Anybody who travels for this one will be going to see the most exciting Heavyweight boxer in a fair few years rather than going for Haye himself. But during these tough credit cunch times, its hard to say who will make the effort.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few thousand! dont make me laugh. over 10,000 brit fans a piece travelled over to the land of capital punishment and gun freaks to watch Hatton and Calzaghe. Schalke is about 2 hours flight from London. Britain will fill that stadium as unlike fat yanks who cant walk past their own front door we support our sportsmen!
Haye knew he was fighting in Germany, thats why he said he isnt going there for a decision, he is going to KO Wlad. He is well aware that getting a decision in Germany, in front of Wlads biggest and most loyal fanbase, will be damn near impossible.
Good decision though, Wlad is well aware that he would struggle to fill such a large stadium fighting anybody other than Haye so will no doubt be enjoying some serious royalties here.
And he is Ukranian, Germany isnt his back yard, its just where a very large support for him lives!!
