Froch vs. Taylor Will Be Available to British Fans – News
By Michael Payne: After much speculation regarding if Carl Froch (24 – 0, 19 KOs) Vs Jermain Taylor (28 – 2 – 1, 17 KOs) will be available to view for UK fans not heading over to the states. The “continents collide” clash will be show on a live steam on a pay per view basis on frochvtaylor.com.
If this means there is no chance of the fight being on TV is yet to be confirmed but this seems to indicate it won’t be. Personally I feel this is going to be bad for the Cobra. He is desperate to get recognition not only by America but also boxing fans in the UK who don’t see him as a world class operator & if the fight is only available on pay per view then it will reduce his audience. If it is only available via an online stream this will surely reduce it further.
I have been a long time fan of Froch & believe this is his time to show what he can really do against a genuine world class opponent in Taylor. It will be a shame if the viewing public in the UK is limited to only his current following & hardened boxing fans.

personally i don’t think jermains heart is in it anymore sfter recent interviews, he’s a contender but how much of one?
I dont know how no channel has this fight!! Well as long as Froch wins and comes back with his title. Thats what I care about
I’m very disappointed with this.
I was hoping that ITV would take a stab at this, especially after the Pascal fight. Mind you, ITV could have re-run the Pascal fight on their main channel (ITV1) the next day, (for greater exposure of their prime boxing asset), they didn’t do it.
Setanta might surprise us late in the day again, but I’m looking in hope more than expectation here.
I won’t be paying a tenner to sit and watch this fight on my laptop. If I pay that price I want a big screen!
This shows froch is far from a marque fighter and a world class fighter.Mick henessy talks to much instead of managing and promoting.Joe calzaghe was spot on when he said froch wanted to make a name for himself off joe,s back. When carl fights a world class natural supermiddle weight he will be out boxed and made to look a novice.JT is a blownup M.weight who struggled with fighting welter weights and lightmiddles.Froch calls out everybody apart from KESSLER can anyone tell me why carl struggles to say the name KESSLER?
Im still pinnin my hopes on Setanta, theres little hope of ITV buying it considerin the kick off time. And ofcourse the tv rights over a fight with Taylor is guna cost an awful lot more than a fight with Pascal and ITV seem to drop the sport the minute it gets expensive.
I really dont know how Froch is percieved over here, id hope hes held in high regard by punters but it appears he may not be. And money talks in that sense.
This must be the perfect example of promoters spin, Look at Amir Khan, he hasnt done half of what Froch has done, hasnt really won anything yet hes sat on PPV events and everybody knows him.
No wonder Froch wanted Calzaghe, he needed his name up in lights big time because this day was coming.
I mean people pay subscription for Setanta so they should listen to what the payers want.
People pay for Setanta, they should be able to buy the rights. Who is promoting this in America anyway? I ask because Setanta have a deal to show all Top Rank fights. Im not righting them off though because the Marquez vs Diaz fight was a touch last minute.
Well what price is his promoter asking for? Everybody is blaming british television, but if the price is too high, they really have no choice. If Froch’s promoter really wanted to get it on TV he probably could, but who knows what’s really going on…
I sgree with oscar, setanta should have picked this up. I was also not impressed that they didnt have the williams vs wright fight. This time last year they had every big fight. If setanta are going to cut the costs on the boxing i be unsubscribing.
I do believe it so now totally too late to pick up the fight. i think radio 5 live is the only way now
Actually Froch’s last fight was on ITV1. But they don’t want it because of timing issues and money. Had the fight have been on at say 10 at night, ITV would have this sewn up, but the amount they’d have to pay for probably half the amount to watch at 4pm, they aren’t willing to do.
Setanta i hoped would get but apparently it hasnt been successful there yet. but we shall see i guess. a shame really that im gunna have to pay to watch it, but being a big froch fan, i probably will.
I dont understand this, surely Hennesey promotions will be doing all he can do to get the programe on tv?
Odd that British TV doesnt want this one considering his last outing was available on Freeview channel ITV4. It may be the case that it wasnt viewed by enough people to warrant the bill.
Hopefully Setanta will pick it up
