I don’t know why Monte Barrett keeps getting brought up. You cant get away with it he was simply not up to the job, don’t make excuses Haye did not and has not fought anybody at HW worth a carrot. Maybe Arreola hasn’t either but then he is not telling anybody that he has, just getting on with the job.
Monte Barrett would not have got through a fight with McCline at about the time he fought Haye. He has almost lost as many fights as Haye has won. Barrett was a second rate opponent, period.

I find it difficult to watch this guy.
And I agree – Monte Barrett is far better then McCline. Don’t know if you noticed – but this guy was completely uninterested in continuing. Fine, he got knocked down, but it wasn’t heavy knock down, and he could have easily stand up and continue! Look at the shape he’s in. I’d say that Monte Barrett, ripped and motivated, and with the mindset he presented while figting Haye – would ko THIS McCline too. I don’t think Barrett is finished – I’d give him a good chance agains Arreola. He might get ko’d, but might as well win it on pts, or even ko him. Some people forget that Monte nearly ko’d Joe Mesi, and gave prime Rahman a good fight. But whatever…. I’m just tired of watching either athletic guys not willing to engage, and fat guys willing to engage, but looking like hamburgers, and the worst thing – fatty boy, not willing to engage… Like McCline.

Areolla is good, but whats he doin fighting this level of opponant when hes in a position to be knocking at the title holders doors?

I think Monte Barrett is a much better boxer than McLine yet David Haye got slaughtered by some for picking such an easy fight. Though i think it was a good fight for Haye and all the nitpickin is just biased crap.

I wont be slating Areolla like some did to Haye but i think Arreola is happy being so big, he does seem to be changing anytihng about himself as a boxer so this is what and where he is. Id like to see him push for something more challenging that this cannon fodder for him.

The good Jameel McCline “declined” to continue boxing after getting tagged a couple of times, what a fighting spirit, what resolve! Grab the money and run is what happened here. Okay Arreola won but much of Arreola’s “victory” was due to Mr. McCline’s lack of motivation or should we call McCline’s display what it truly was, a travesty?
