Hopkins is too afraid to fight Dawson, but until he does, he should not be ranked #1 light-heavyweight. He's too afraid to fight Kessler as well. He won't fight the best fighter at light-heavyweight, or the best fighter at super-middleweight. So being a strictly defensive fighter, he feels his best bet is to jump up to cruiserweight, and tie up Adamek, a purely offensive fighter, with clinches for the whole fight. Boring! Fighters like Hopkins are what makes MMA so popular.

I agree with ukansodoff. You are not giving any credit to Adamek. He had 3 FOTY nominees. Any fighter who gets a FOTY nominee should be treated with alittle respect, and your sounding like the rest of the haters. Adamek is the Crusier weight Champ of the world even if you don't agree with it. I give Hopkins respect for taking this fight because he is going to have alot of trouble with adameks pressure.
i wish the best for both fighters, but in the end I really think adameks going to end up with the victorty.

If Hopkins goes for it then good on him, he still must have a passion for the sport which is driving him to keep going and even consider stepping up again, i applaude him for it.

Good luck Hopkins.

why dont adamek get the credit? why in any frame of mind would b-hop want to exucute adamek for a start he was dominated by chad dawson and as this article says why would he fight left overs, also hes hardly box office now come on is he i still beleive best option would be for him to try and lure joke calzaghe out of retirement i know the first fight was no oil painting but come on with all this bad blood it bound to be interesting. but we all know calzaghe will never give rematch as he had the biggest scare off his life in the first fight.

Though now ive thought about it i did only see the fight on youtube and if your word is that Cunningham was much the better boxer thats fine also.

But i work on results only. It seems quite unfair for him to get such a bad press on here when he seems to be doing quite well for himself.

Gianluca he won against Cunningham. close, split who cares.

If hed of been getting a pasting and scored a lucky knockout then fair enough but it went the distance and the judges RIGHTFULLY called him the winner. And from what i saw it Cunningham was lucky to make it to the end.

Thats the aim of the game. This article gives him no credit for what hes done and where he is. If he were American it would be a different story.

UKANSODOFF - I wonder did you watch Cunningham-Adamek? Steve won every round, except those of the knockdowns. Even one of those Steve was leading so much it would have been a 10-8 round until the knockdown - which by the way was by one of only a couple of punches thrown by Adamek in that round. At the end of a fight with 3 knockdowns you would expect a unanimous decision, not a split decision! Most of the media reports read the fight different and scored it a draw or a win to Steve I have only been able to find two reports that agree that Adamek had won in their view.

As for Banks - well the man hadn't ever had a decent opponent that's why both Adamek and Maccarinelli were fighting to secure him for title fights as he was a fairly easy opponent. I bet Macca is kicking himself for not offering more to Banks to fight him instead of Adamek (-;

As for the article I am so pleased to actually read an article that talks sense on both Adamek's ability instead of going along with the hype and the fact that this fight is a really a bit of a waste of time. Hopkins will win this fight easily and by doing so deny boxing fans of the chance of seeing a rematch of the best cruiserweight battle ever - Adamek-Cunningham II

Why cant you give Adamek any credit? Why cant Americans take to him? Is it because he aint American? Your making excuses and playing down his victories over Cunningham and Banks, 2 american prospects.

And what the hell you goin on about sayin he could move up to heavyweight? You ever seen boxing? Thats just crazy, Hopkins has stepped it up to light heavy, now he may even move up to cruiser but your sayin he could look to fight Valuev?

Seriously?
