Lorenzo Stops Miranda

By Sam Gregory: In tonight’s co-main event 28-year-old Dominican Giovanni Lorenzo 27-1 scored an impressive second round knockout over Dionisio Miranda 19-4 for the IBF middleweight belt.

In the opening round both fighters fought cautiously feeling out their opponent. Halfway through the second round Miranda got caught off balance and hit with a solid right hand one punch knockout 2:48 of round two.

The winner of the fight is the IBF mandatory for Arthur Abraham.

This was a 12 round IBF title eliminator fight in the middleweight division. The winner, Giovanni Lorenzo improved his record to 27-1 with 19 knockouts. Dionisio Miranda fell to 19-4 with 17 KO’s having been KOed 3 times in his career.
