Best in Division – Hatton – vs. P4P King – Pacquiao

hat7745By Ali Tinsley: I love to watch Pacman fight, the guy is just my kind of boxer, powerful, quick, and aggressive. I love to watch Ricky Hatton fight, powerful, aggressive, surprisingly quick and British. I wrote an article a while ago giving an unbiased take on Hatton vs. “Pacman” Manny Pacquiao giving facts based on previous fights and performances. Somehow, Hatton is still rated as a “dinosaur”. What is going on!

Pacman may be the pound for pound king, and rightly so, but Hatton is the best in this division (insert comments about how he’s dodged fighters……) I’m starting to get really annoyed by the fact pound for pound king means you can have anyone in any division. Pacman destroyed De La Hoya at welterweight, but, in my opinion Cotto, Mayweather and dare I say plaster hands Margarito at welterweight would all be favourites to beat Pacman at this weight, bigger men, natural fight weight etc etc etc.

Now I’m not saying they would beat Pacman, just have a better chance than a weight drained golden boy.

Now we have Hatton, never lost in 44 fights at Light-Welterweight, best in the division, looked great in his last fight, stopped PM which nobody had ever done (yes the Cotto fight should have been stopped – but wasn’t) and still he’s given no chance of winning this fight. WHY? I don’t get it.

I have already stated that my prediction was Pacman on points but wouldn’t rule out a Hatton stoppage/points win but nobody will give him a chance. I don’t just give him a chance, I see this fight being massively close, of course, anything can happen come fight night but guys come on, Hatton is great, like him or hate him, the guy deserves boxing fans respect. Everyone I know thought Tsyu would be the one to stop Hatton’s unbeaten run, but then he’s sitting on his stool retiring (slightly similar to De La Hoya Pacman no?)

Now either I am clearly biased towards the British fighters (Jennings to KO Cotto in 1…….JOKE) or I just don’t watch boxing and make things up. But I believe I’m more of a realist and yes at times I may sit on the fence, but I like to look at fighters history and performances, I don’t care if they face lower level competition, if they look good and perform well so be it.

Sorry. Rant Over.

Alistair Prediction – Hatton Rd 1 KO ……………(Pacman close points win)
