Im positive Khan and his camp had that route in mind until his problem came to view (chin) and now they are havin to try tip toe their way to the top. Its been done many times before and will be done many more in the future, some times it works, some it doesnt. But it is clearly a case of it on this occasion. You could say Khan has plenty of time, hes not fighting for a world title here and his very next fight could be against Thaxton or Murray. But you can get loads of straight answers out of Khan and his ambitions, Until you mention Thaxton and Murray ofcourse, they are sore subjects with him.
