Calzaghe vs RJJ was a fixed fight. Look at the photo at the top! WHy is RJJ standing there and looking while Calzaghe drops his arms and goes into his face. Perfect opportunity for RJJ to hit Calzaghe in the face more than once and yet he dosent do it. This happened many times in that fight and it happened at the beginning (after the 1st round).
Therefore i suspect that Calzaghe will only get into the ring if he can get his opponent to throw the match.

So Calzaghe gets criticised for fighting Hopkins and Jones, fighters either nearing or past their 40's, yet Dawson is "setting the world alight" fighting Tarver and Johnson, arguably losing to the latter. Both fighters being either near or past 40.

Ridiculous, this webiste is full of bitter American muppets.

Why has Dave's response been deleted, my response has also been deleted, neither were abusive and Dave wrote a decent analysis of Scotts article.

I think if Calzaghe has made himself and his family secure with all his facilities in tact, then Good luck to him if he retires. I met Joe at one of my shows in Leeds West Yorkshire and he his an absolute role model for any up and coming boxer, unlike some boxers we don't need to mention.Boxing is about doing the best against who you are put in with and get out with your whole life financially secure.

Im convinced these Calzaghe haters are just desperate for him to be beaten, thats whay they are panicing that he may retire unbeaten.

Hes had plenty of chance to lose, hes not fought all but maby top fighters and he aint lost yet.

When he does take on the people you crave, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins the main ones you said he was guna lose, then when he didnt they were pronounced overated. Hes not guna do anything right in your books ever.

But then again that dont matter for much really does it. Sounds like he will be in the hall of fame which is picked by legends of the sport in or out of the ring. Id say that counts alot more than your views Scott

Well said dave and barak!

Your points both sum it all up really. May I also point out that when americans say things like 'spending most of your career in Europe', I find it to be very ignorant of Britain and Europe in generall... as the US has more in common with the UK than the rest of Europe does, and to think that a british fighter like David Haye for instance, was to fight one of the Klitschko's in Germany then do they really believe that Haye would really get a better deal from the crowd or judges than he would if he were to fight Chris Arreola in america? I don't think so!
