John vs. Caballero On Saturday Night

Undefeated World Boxing Association featherweight champion Chris John (40-0-1, 21 KOs) will put his title on the line against challenger Roinet Caballero (22-7-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Istora Bung Karno, in Jakarta, Jakarta Raya, Indonesia. This will be the 9th title defense for John, whom has been almost invincible since winning the title in 2003. Along the way, John, 28, has defeated popular fighters like Derrick Gainer and Juan Manuel Marquez, the latter fighter he beat by 12-round unanimous decision in March 2006.

John is a speedy fighter with excellent counter punching skills. He’s especially hard to hit, moving around the ring constantly, while jabbing and throwing hooks. John has been mentioned as potential future opponent for Manny Pacquiao, arguably the best super featherweight in the division. For his part, Caballero, 24, hasn’t lost in two years, and is coming into the bout with a 13 fight win streak, which includes 11 KOs. Caballero is a pure power puncher, although he’ll have his work cut out for him trying to land against the elusive John.
