Fields Destroys Koval
Heavyweight knockout artist Tye Fields (39-1, 35 KOs) made a statement for himself as a potential challenger as he destroyed in 43 seconds of the 1st round on Thursday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fields, 32, came bursting out of his corner in the first round, hammering the body of Koval and then sent him down with a right-left combination.
It appeared that Koval’s foot had been stepped on, however, by Fields prior to the knockdown but the referee missed it. However, it didn’t matter, because as soon as he got up, Koval was met with another combination that sent him down for good at 0:43 of the 1st round. Referee Toby Gibson halted the bout, with Koval down on the canvas holding his midsection.
Overall it was an impressive performance for Fields, whom has been slow in stepping up the level of his competition in his career. However, Fields looked good enough to give any of the top 10 heavyweights a rough time if they were to meet up with him.
